Mark Williams - a great option

Mark Williams is a great footy guy, plenty of ticker, a smart tactician and has the fire in the belly to ruffle few feathers here and there. The longer the discussions go with Essendon, j feel we need to pick him up on our way up. We have lost premiership experience in wellman. I could not see a better pick up out there. While we are improving I feel we need the pure mongrel of Williams, not saying Bailey doesn't have it, but would it not great to have more?

Well they did used to work alongside one another not long ago...

Who knows.

worth a couple of phone calls. Remember our home ground is where he won his flag.

but who knows what his attitude is.

No. Just No.

He fluked a flag, and has overseen a divided club since he went to port.

Williams is about Williams, pure and simple. The MFC is a very tight group atm. Keep it that way and leave Williams well alone.

No one flukes a flag, from memory he finished on top twice aswell.

We cannot expect our players to simply get better by osmosis, we need to innovate and be ahead of the curve, not saying they are gone but Geelong was so far of everyone it was not funny, now 2 sides have their measure and more to come.

If you are not moving forward you are going backward.

Seems to me like the kind of bloke who would struggle being second fiddle to someone else. Also appears a little loose and wirey. I'd rather go for someone with a little more decorum.. a Laidley type. "Allan Scott, you were wrong", no Mark Williams- sore winners and people who publicaly humiliate club sponsors are wrong, and ipso facto that makes you wrong!

The guy has about five kids and would cost us some serious coin. I just don't think he'd bring enough to justify that. Bailey has plenty of mongrel about him and doesn't need someone like Choco to provide it. Agree that Laidley would be a much better option. He's a thinker and ferocious competitor. But again, I don't think Bailey needs someone to hold his hand. Just good assistants.

In what capacity? 'Director of coaching'?

Past his used by date IMO.

Agree.

I'd like to see as much innovation in our coaching department as there is in every other department of the club. I want to see more growth and development in this area of our club. I fear we think it will just happen.

And Williams is the answer or is this just whinge #101?

I've read similar in other threads but can't remember an example , can someone provide 1 or 2 ?

That is such a Brilliant Photo!!! Deserves a download i reckon.

What an MCG moment, as far as entertainment goes, it's up there with Angry and the Batmobile!!

It was embarrassing and he made a goose of himself when the world was his oyster.

He could have basked in the glory of his victory but chose to do so in a vindictive, unprofessional and immature fashion. Its no wonder he burnt so many bridges at Port.

Exactly, that's why it was so funny.....so Port Adelaide!!!! B)

I can tell you the story of what he said to Chris Johnson on his way out.

I love it.

Others don't think it was proper.

I think that if you don't want to play for this club you can get (oh, that is censored!) .

I also think that if you rock up to training in your MFC gear after your agent has informed the club of your decision, you can get double (oh my, even more censored!) .

Bringing in Williams will be destabilising.

3 losses in a row and the fans see this Premiership coach sitting there waiting to take over.

I want us to get a really good, young defensive coach from a pool of applicants.

You know, the way good clubs do it...

Is that what you think, or is that what Bailey said?

I'm sure I heard at the time, but I can't recall the exact details.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
