I voted extra time, just, couldn't care less if it stays the same.

However I want a winner, feels like everybody loses with a draw, players are all gutted, supporters are mostly gutted - the silence when leaving the G was deafening.

Extra 5 each way would be incredibly intense, some real heroes will be made, would be great to watch.

But you'd have little chance of winning the following week - but draws don't happen that often.

Leave it as you found it I say.....extra time for finals and even Grand Finals now as replays should be a thing of the past, way too much time invested into one week, teams travel across the country etc, but that's another argument I guess.

People i have heard over the last 24 hours keep saying..We need a result.

A Draw is a result. After full time scores are level, cool.

The Filth kicked Badly all day (until the last 5 minutes!!)

We started slowly and gave them 3 easy goal start.

The Filth entered there 50 20 odd more times, but we were far cleaner using the ball when we had it.

The Game is a draw...2 points each.

We got far more outa yesterday than the pies.

We now have 4 games this year that can be used for training & learning. 2 loses, 1 win, 1 Draw. That's a good library.

You cannot teach yesterday. It must be experienced, but once on tape it lives forever. ;)

Drawn games have influenced the ladder & the Finals makeup for as long as i can remember, & thats how it should be. Unpredictable & random, just like nature, Natural.

It adds to the surprise of the unknown element, & teams can still find themselves in the finals, based on other teams having an unlikely draw. Thats fantastic excitement.

Absolutely spoton WYL. we don't need 50/50 football, keep the traditions alive. Drop Kick. Stab kick. Flat punt. Torpedoe Punt.

Whats next. Ruckmen. Full Forwards. We'll have a team of lookalike 6'1.5" tall players in arm/shoulder shields running around on artificial turf with helmets with eye focal maximisers.

Ah, leave it alone.

Keep the draw.

It's not like either club didn't have their chances to stitch up the win at differnet stages. but just couldn't get the job done. 80 minutes is enough time to see who is better.

Overall a good result for us supporters! How many times do you get to go to the footy and watch the Dees play the Cold Pies and NOT see the Dees lose and not have to watch the Pies win?

Go Dees

I think anyone who votes to keep it the way it is really knows nothing of the hardship and dedication of playing a game of football. I can assure you that every single one of the players yesterday would have loved an extra 10 minutes had they been given a chance. A draw might be OK for fans, but it's TERRIBLE for the players. It's nothing but an empty achievement, a feeling that everything over the past 2 hours was for nothing. Worse than a loss imo.

Extra time.

Beer drinking competition followed by 5mins each way would sort it out.

two of my mates settled an argument by a super schnitzel challenge once. They both finished the super schnitzel within the allocated time, and then both finished a whole apple pie each. It had to go to extra time, which was sculling a longneck, then doing a sprint around the oval. They both spewed. Many times.

Neither of them were better on the day, and so we had to call it a draw.

Same goes for yesterday.

My favourite was an article written on this by I think Mark Stevens.

Basically rattled on about how every fan was gutted and it needed to change because the fans wanted a result. He had a poll within the article and it overwhelmingly favoured keeping the draw as is.

Yeah he's really in touch with the fans isn't he!

I say keep the draw, it is a result and it brings a completely different element into the season. And i agree with Demon Jack 16, the GF should be extra time, no replay, the season must be decided that day.

I went to the Draw in '77 and the Replay, and i can tell you it was an amazing day...and to have the chance to go to another Grand Final was just Brilliant.

I say leave the GF as it is.

Exactly 'Pates', adds that extra indeterminable thing to the equation. There's nothing better than when teams like the Pies play the Blues so one can make the finals, then they draw & both missout with the Doggies jumping up to 8th spot to fill the final list.

Nothin' like it. ^_^

Those drawn Grand Finals with the extra week of Finals are historic & we talked about them for years. Great drama, and the great Stan Alves starred for the Roos. Fantastic for the long suffering Demon supporters to see one of their Idols playing, Starring in a Frand Final/s, albeit for an opposing team. Thats how it was for us back then.

PS:Thats why this list rebuild has been So important, & remains So important to finish it well.

These are my preferred options in order

1. Leave as is ( I got a heap of pleasure denying the maggies a win)

2. Highest number of goals wins (similar to count back in high jump ) no extra time

3. 5 minutes extra each way, with 30 sec break to change ends and TV adtime( and repeat with 4 minutes 3 minutes 2 minutes until a result )

4. Shoot out from two spots, one at 50 mtre CHF and the other from the boundary line (six kicks 3 from each spot ) Total score of goals and points wins. If it is still a tie then the next six best kicks. If still a draw then last six. If still a draw have a computer raffle of membership number. If they are not there the team forfeits

Personally I think the draw should stay as is. If neither team's good enough to win in the given time then so be it. Extra time and/or kick-offs are just too gimmicky to me.

That's exactly how I see it.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
