Matthew Bate (ankle) test

Sam Blease (leg) 2-3 weeks

Cameron Bruce (hamstring) test

Jack Fitzpatrick (shoulder) 2-3 weeks

Max Gawn (knee) indefinite

Liam Jurrah (shoulder) 5-6 weeks

Stefan Martin (hip) 1 week

John Meesen (ankle) indefinite

Ricky Petterd (shoulder) season

Luke Tapscott (hip) 6-8 weeks

Good news for Brucey to come up as Test after Larkins' early prediction of 2-3. Ditto Bate being some chance of coming up.

Poor Sammy Blease still not getting a fair run at it. Important to remember just how much time is on his side though.

SUPER exciting to see some numbers alongside LJ now rather than the ugly Indefinite. Gives some genuine hope we'll see him in the last 5-6 games of the year.

Hopefully Jurrah will be back before Round 15

not good news about blease. does anyone knows whats wrong ?

He did break his leg last year. Considering how much you run in AFL it's tough on your legs.

Don't worry, he'll hopefully break into the team this year if he's fit.

Absolutely thrilled by that list. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for our guys. Even if we don't see Gawn and Blease this year, they'll be nice and fresh for next year with a full preseason behind them. It will be great to see Jurrah back in the red and blue when we make our big charge and take a few prize scalps.

Almost at the midpoint of the season I think we can glean from this that

Meesen wont be back this year, his ankle must be absolutely stuffed so he'll be delisted which

is really disappointing for him not to of shown his best while with us.

Good to see Tapscott with some numbers against his name too

Disappointing that Gawn is still listed as indefinate as he has stated to several people that he would be back in 3/5 weeks from now.

Sam must have really broken that leg bad-(car accident Bad) He will be back as he is only young, but it will take time.

Remember Jason Snell (Geelong) Breaking Leg Bones in this sport is not good-But Sam just has to be patient & not over do his rehab/physiotherapy program.

At his age the bones are still fusing.together

Not to mention the fact that he injured his knee in TAC Cup Round 5 last year which means he's already been out for in excess of 12 months which is much longer than usual for an ACL.

Perhaps one's recovery time is in direct proportion to one's height. :) ?

I didn't see his injuring himself, but I suspect there's a bit of selection byplay going on.

My tips -

Bate out injured/ 1 week. > for Miller.

Bruce out injured/ 2-3 weeks. > for Joel Macdonald

Bennell out/ > for Jetta.

PJ out/ > for Newton - 1 week.

Poss? Sylvia out rested/ > for Gysberts...

We said the same thing about Blease last year and look how it has turned out.

Cant wait to see LJ back.

Spoke to Gawn at training last week, and he stated he would be ready to play in 4-5 weeks

Is Rohan Bail okay? Haven't seen or heard his name for a while. He was burning before he got injured and really offered us another hard running option.

Played VFL on the weekend here is the coach's review.

Rohan Bail - Kicks 7, Marks 2, Handballs 5, Tackles 3

Rohan got through his first game in three weeks. He came on and showed some of that trademark run that he’s got in his game. He set up some midfield connections and handball linkage and setup. He played around the wing and half forward, and a bit on the ball, and he got through, which is good. Hopefully he’ll build on that now.

He played for Casey on saturday - little impact according to the player review but good for the run...

He had nerve damage around the groin area so couldn't have been good!!

I'm real sorry to get personal, but i'm laid up in bed sick so my patience is a little thin.

If you haven't got anything to add, whats the point in posting?

To quote your interests........ aaaaDUUUUUHHHHH!!:blink::rolleyes:

That is all. Apologies again.

Not as silly as you put it. I think one's weight would definitely affect how long you are out of the game for. Hopefully whatever it is slowing him up they get it 100% right the first time around.

I'm interested in Blease's recovery. I don't know enough about what happens when you train on a old broken leg. I presume you get some pretty bad aching and a bit of inflammation can flare up again and this is probably what happened with Blease. So the management is probably more rest for a while to let it all work itself out.

Regarding Blease, rumour is the villian now resides on the North rookie list.

Good enough for me. If fit, Bail is an in. :)

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
