Looks as is this is final proof he doesn't want to come to us.

It will be interesting to see if there is an inquiry in to this which appears to be draft tampering.

I don,t think we should waste a pick or any more time on him.

Agreed. He's not good enough to worry about.

FINALLY !!! now myself and others who feel the same can join in chorus and say " LUKE BALL F@C* OFF !!" I hope the two clubs chasing him realise that he is a money hungry attention seeking prat who would like to go to ..

Collingwood: A team who will be there or thereabouts and yet never realistically challenge for a flag before ball retires

Essendon: A team who in my opinion has as much chance of winning the flag before Ball retires as I have getting a phone call from Barack Obama and asking me to be the first aussie in the Whitehouse.

At least we can stop wasting our time on someone who all along has never been keen on the idea of playing for Mlbourne

agreed on all fronts...

Interesting voss has said they will draft him if he is their and doesn't care if he wants to come or not would love to see DB say the same so we force Ess to go early with their pick.

Blatant draft tampering, its about time the AFL did something on these issues

Considering all the times I have contributed to the Debt Demolition campaign I do not want to pay for overpriced players who have 2 or 3 years left in their bodies and DoNot want to play for the club. I would rather take the risk on an unproven player who really embraces the idea of playing for the great MFC.

I reckon Ball is a bit cleverer than we give him credit for.

He knows that if he comes to the Dees he will pick up the oppositions key tagger week after week and he knows he isn’t good enough to break that shackle.

After 12 to 18 months of that he will left behind by a group of sensational younger players coming though and he will be delisted at 27 before he even gets to a Grand Final.

I figure he is just lazy, wants to join a team where he can coast for 4 or 5 years, play in a couple of finals and then enjoy his retirement.

Good luck to him.

And you reckon he won't get the treatment at Collingwood or Essendon?

smart no, greedy and lazy yes....

He has max 2 yrs which is why he wants 500k first up for first 2 seasons and then happy with 75 for the third. Thing is he won't be playing the third so he gets his money upfront while his body lasts.

I must say well done to Ross Lyon who knew what he was dealing with and got rid of him.

I think the MFC is also.

Having spoken to someone close to the board yesterday, it confirmed my hopes that we are very unlikely to select Luke Ball.

Instead we're hoping to bluff and push up his price for another club.

Look, everyone knows my view on this, but if the club decided that other options are better at Pick 18 I wouldn't mind the club still intimating they would pick him up and attempt to get Essendon to take him at 10 as KS is intimating.

I'm still on the 'couldn't care less what Luke Ball wants' brigade...

(Vossy is here too...)

A born leader would have taken a chance to lead. A callow soul will seek the easiest path- which Luke Ball has appeared to take.

Forget Ball, I look forward to seeing that sack of schitt watching a young demons grop become something bigger and better than he will ever be.

This must mean 100% that either MacDonald or Thorp will be joining us in 2010.

Bailey had his chance and he stuffed it up. It's clear that we have to pick him at 18 or he goes to Essendon. Essendon won't fall for the bluff of having to pick Ball at 10 or they won't get him, Bailey made sure of it. I just hope that Sully and Trengove are not managed by Connors.

Disappointed Ball wouldn't at least hear what MFC has to offer seems conceited, narrow minded and disrespectful considering in good faith we announced publicly he was an option for us. Could of always said no thanks.

I'm of the opinion that if you don't want to play for the team you shouldn't be picked. This may limit opportunities but i think a team is more successful when it moves in the same direction rather than Ball type Mercenaries in the side for self gain.

Brisbane, Geelong and Western Bulldogs are examples of quality players sacrificing for team success rather than lyning their hip pockets.

Some say Ball is professional enough to play well for whatever team selects him however this isn't reflected in his attitude towards us so far.

Ball has some abilities we sorely lack: experience, hard in and under, contested posession winner. However medically he is a high risk,

He was unwilling to meet St.Kilda's terms and had a falling out he is now a Mercenary looking for the most money, years and the fastest track to

a premiership/pay dirt where he will have to put in the least amount of work to gain it.

Attitude is as important as ability and clearly Ball's attitude towards us is one of apathy and aloofness

I just as much as anyone want a premiership but I believe it must be built on integrity, commitment and loyalty.

Ball has appeared to lack these qualities since he decided St.Kilda's expectations where beyond what he considered reasonable.

If he wanted a tilt at a premiership he should of stayed where he was.

As i've said earlier with Ball it was PSD or GTFO end of question.

I am quite surprised that more of you don't see that Ball's recalcitrance is his way of asserting control over a situation in which he has little.

It must be an incredibly humbling experience.

Best option at 18 - whoever that may be.

I will admit I was on this forum expressing how much I wanted Luke Ball, After the the weeks of of silence and now the sheer lack of disrespect shown to the MFC he has now joined my top 5 list of HATED players in the AFL.

For people that want to know who my top 5 is, It goes as follows

1. Adam Goodes

2. Stephan Milne

3. Brendan Fevola

4. Des Hedland

5. Luke Ball

I'd almost be tempted to draft him out of spite. Whatever the case, we should definitely be coming out and saying that we're still seriously considering drafting him with pick 11: Essendon being forced to use pick 10 on him would be a win for us.

Would not be surprised to see Tigers pick him up at 19 if he is still available. They have a crap list cominibng into 3 compromised drafts. Ball would free up Deledio for a forward role with Martin most likely a number 3 pick and a ready made for round 1.

Also they would be hoping for say a McDonald in the PSD who will romp in a game at half back.

In this way they can bolster there list.

I think we should come out and say we are 90% sure of picking Ball up at 18 - and then pick up a kid - just to P everyone off and get a club to waste an earlier pick.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
