Pick 30 for Miller, who are you kidding, would be lucky to get a boot studder and two tackle bags.

nice work ,very funny

And this is by no means a go at Cam.... I rate him quite highly.... But if he thinks he is going to be a walk up start next year he is kidding himself.... Unless he is prepared to move into the forward line....

sorry but Bruce will finish high in the B+F again as he has done for a decade straight. He is one of our only senior leaders and with McLean gone he will be one of the first picked every single week.

Can the excitable people jumping down Nasher's throat step back, clam down, and read the post he was replying to.

It was a post I made about indicting Bailey on a Davey-gone hypothetical.

And Jaded, you should know better.

Just because there are a few non-hysterical people on here repeating to posters that the sky isn't falling doesn't mean you get to knee-cap them for it.

If you feel patronised by what Nasher said, you have self-esteem issues.

Remember, no-one can make you feel inferior but you.

3? Seems to buck the recent trend.

There's probably a fair bit of interest from other Clubs and Davey's market value would be high right now, so he'd want to cash in.

Hope there is a biggish incentive element in it.

Have you ever known me to care about anyone's opinion of my posting?

I think you should probably read what I wrote again, if you think I'm knee capping anyone.

People react differently to different situations, and should be allowed to express that in any way they like as long as they are not being offensive. To have their opinion categorized as hysterical by other posters who feel like jumping on their high horse and lecture those who feel differently to them, is poor and highly annoying.

As I've said, nobody here was hysterical, but everyone reacts differently and if people don't like the so-called hysteria, they shouldn't read these boards. Nobody should be apologizing for expressing how they feel, as long as they do so respectfully.

Nasher's post was patronising and did nothing to promote the discussion.

Come on. I agree that people should be allowed to post whatever inane ramblings they want, but you can't throw that back and say that Nasher cannot get on here and call them out on it.

And 'not adding anything to the discussion'?

You're kidding me?!

Half the people on here add very little, and I include myself in this. I spent an hour playing joke-tennis with 45HG16 on a thread yesterday.

Added nothing whatsoever to the discussion, but who gives a flying.

And school holidays bring the worst of the youngest generation on here to say stupid things, but who gives a flying.

And people are patronising in real life, but who gives a flying.

got this off ology

"And a day after losing midfielder Brock McLean, Melbourne yesterday moved swiftly to tie up its best player, Aaron Davey.

"The Demons ended a dispute over the length of an initial contract offer to Davey, who was coming out of contract next month, by agreeing to a new three-year deal. Melbourne had previously offered Davey a two-year contract, which was unacceptable to the player."

Melbourne, just do whatever you can do sign this bloke up. Not only would we lose our best player, but also his mentoring of the other aboriginal kids at the club. We don't want to see players like Jurrah and Wonna jumping ship down the track as well. I'd even give Davey the captaincy after Macca retires. I think he's more than up for it.

Whilst I don't think he will be going, I said the same thing about Brock. The doubt is planted in the mind as a result.

EDIT:

If this is true, rejoice! A weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Still undecided about whether or not we should go for Burgoyne.

Greetings all,

Wow, what an interesting week in the life of the MFC. And to think I almost missed it all!

Firstly, Greg Denham is one journo who almost always has his finger on the pulse where the Demons are concerned. The delays in finalising Aaron's contract were understandably over length of time - one of the important sticking points in contractual dealings at this level these days along with the money.

Secondly, it's inconceivable that the Flash would walk on this club where he has such an investment of his own in terms of his heritage and his people. Remember the Aaron Davey Scholarship which was instituted at his own suggestion? I think that all would be far too important for someone like Aaron to walk away from and to suggest otherwise would be an insult to what he has been doing at the club.

Finally, I commend the club on the way it handled the Brock McLean situation. I'm sure Brock will be a good servant of the Carlton Football Club and will fit in nicely in that environment while Melbourne received exactly what it wanted. In today's trade and draft climate it's not easy to snare an extra first round draft pick. At this point in time, the club has now done that twice in three years. Nobody else has done that even once.

Let's have a little less hysteria and some more thought and understanding at this time of year!

Good post Oracle.....

But this time of year is always a little (putting it mildly) hysterical, and now that one of our favourites has jumped that was always going to happen.

I hate trade time for that very reason, but I agree with your assessment of what we (the club) have got and done so far.

Hopefully a positive Davey announcement will happen sooner rather than later if for no other reason than to calm some very rattled nerves in here.

But if not then we are all just going to have to learn to deal with it, hopefully with a small dose of rationality ;) !!!

Greg Denham seems to have laid this to rest in this morning's Oz with Davey getting a three year deal and only the formal announcement to follow.

Logic and sentiment said it should go this way and once it's done we all might start to look at our club as somewhat more professional and accomplished than we have been used to.

listening to sen today david schwartz said the rumours about davey leaving are untrue and both parties have almost come to an agreement for a 3 year contract;

from schwartz mouth; :)

Stated on SEN this morning -Greg Denham says Davey has agreed to sign a 3 year deal in the next day or so.

Heard this too , apparently sticking point was length of contract, wanted 3 years was offered 2,but now they have agreed on 3, great news

Aaron Davey is a very good player - nearly as good as Leon Davis - we wouldn't want to lose him.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
