Got mine this arvo. Geez, the merchandise shop is in a nightmare of a position. I don't use credit cards so I had to go in person but it's not a place I would head to if I didn't have to.

Just one of the issues MFC have with merchandising!

Hopefully, this will be rectified when we move back under the umbrella of the MCC.

Came across this on BigFooty which shows our unique situation.

Interesting to see the latest breakdown of AFL clubs supported by MCC members published in the November MCC Newsletter

Melbourne 21%

Essendon 13%

Collingwood 11%

Carlton 9%

Hawthorn 8%

Richmond7%

Geelong 7%

St Kilda 5%

Kangaroos 3%

Sydney 2% maybe 3%

Western Bulldogs 2%maybe 3%

Brisbane 2%

No club listed 8%

----------------- = 98% or close to 100%

West Coast

Adelaide

Port Adelaide

Fremantle fewer than 1% each and in total

With the cost of membership ranging roughly from $400-600 a year, you can understand why MCC Demons fans don't chip in that extra cost to cover a full membership. They already get what they pay for in their regular MCC membership and that's why the move back into the MCC is important.

If we can tap into that well of Dees fans who are members then automatically our membership would increase from our level of about 29,000 to high 30's or even low 40's. We have to offer something unique to these supporters to give them incentive to part with more cash and i feel that the the Club when they come back into the fold offer a $100 MCC only membership which would include things like:

An MCC memebrs only night with the club. Meet the players etc.

A special MCC/MFC pin or tie.

Just some ideas for the future. I have more but the company boss is in town so it's time to minimise my screen!

Go Dees!!!

26,195 - Up she goes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: The way it is going I might have to soon re-evaluate my prediction of 31,484!

30k by monday?

I wonder how many will sign up on Sunday. If we have a couple of early wins does any one think we're a chance for 35k?

That is a awesome effort, gratz to all involved and to the members getting themselves signed up early!!!!!

it is ist it :) would not really have dared to dream we would be this far down the path. We're on the road back people :) Certainly a continous journey still fraught with potholes etc but you can sense the Red and Blue is becoming a believable entity again.

A journey of a thousand miles as they say....... but we are way past the first steps..and were gaining momentum.

I have the sneaking suspicion our numbers are more sustainable as well as say compared the Dogs and Roos

Isn't it, they are both struggling for members at the top of their game. What happens when some leaner times come. Nth is the biggest concern it seems like as a club they are going backwards even though they have been reasonable successful in the last few years. Lets hope they can rally like we have in the darker times coming

I don't think 30K by monday. Maybe close to 28K?

I would have thought around 32K more likely. I would be pleasantly surprised with the club reaching 35K.

Lets be Honest, Their is only room for one Melbourne in this city. North Melbourne should have moved to the Gold Coast. Call me a heartless Bastard if you wish but within 5 years that club will be on its knees. If they cannot generate a strong membership with Brayshaw at the Top they are staring at oblivion. The Bulldogs are a little better off, but only just.

We the MFC must be aware of all this. Our connection with the MCC will be a major bonus, but the Club must be Prudent & well run. I Hope Mr Schwabb can start this situation rolling.

How a Melbourne supporter could advocate the relocation or extinction of another football club is beyond me.

I would never ever wish this sort of thing on any club... except Carlton, who as far as I'm concerned should be wiped off the face of the planet.

Whether or not North can continue to exist in this current environment, I'm not sure, but I hope they do.

Knowing what it feels like to have your own club under threat, I can't imagine how hard it must be for North supporters, who despite relatively recent successes are still struggling for members and money.

I also refuse to believe that our future existence depends on the failure of other clubs.

Absolutely Jaded, we should all back all clubs to remain as they are.

The game has changed enough throughout it's history, but to see anymore Victorian clubs go would be heartbreaking.

Our Future does not depend on the Failures of others- i didn't say that. All i said is i do not think North will survive within 5 years. They may regret that they did not relocate at all, or else they will leave the building as North Melbourne, or they will prove me wrong & thrive but i seriously doubt it.

I don't Hate North i just don't think they will survive. Last year they received a bucket load of sympathy Memberships. This year the reality of the supporter base kicks in.

Don't Forget 2 years ago only 25,000 rolled up to a Final that the Kangas played in. That is unsustainable.

I still say their is Room for only one melbourne in this city.

Which is worse-To see North Wither & die like a dead Tree or Relocate?? 5 year reality check. 9 Teams will not Survive in this city unless some are on welfare & that will never bring a flag.

I Think it would be more heartbreaking to see North end up like Fitzroy. The Office running from a Hotel.

Thank God Jim Stynes Came along or it would have been us. We were that close.

Great time to jump on board.. pulling around 500 members each update, which i'm assuming would be daily... we have more members now than any time in the past, excluding last year and the year before, and those were completed membership totals for the whole year!

Almost 10,000 members up on ten years ago.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton

The Demons were blown out of the water in the first quarter and clawed their way back into the contest but it was a case of too little too late as they lost another close one to Carlton losing by 1 point at the MCG.

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again headlining another blockbuster at the MCG to kick off the round of footy. The Dees take on the Blues and have the opportunity to win their third game on the trot to solidify a spot in the Top 4 in addition to handing the Blues their third consecutive defeat to bundle them out of the Top 8.
