I like that squad and seriously rate ourselves a good chance!

I heard Rodney Eade during the week that his team would be close to full strength.

It's a good test for our young team!

Go dees

You would think the 24 would be the players in consideration for our first game, therefor IMO we should line up as per below

Grimes Warnock Garland

Buckley Rivers Frawley

Morton Mclean Davey

Sylvia Miller Green

Dunn Newton Jetta

Meesen McDonald Bruce

Jones, Petterd, Bartram, Spencer, Martin, Moloney

Cheney, Bail, Bell

No PJ?

Leaving messen and spencer to fight it out for rd 1! (if the LTI rumors are true)

I saw Meesen at the Sydney game, and based on what I saw, he would never make our best team EVER! He was slow, he had poor attitude, and seemed to lack confidence.

He needs to have a blinder against the dogs for him to get my vote. Spencer can not play as hes is a rookie. We need to have some one on the long term injury list. If Robbo is 8+ weeks away we could place him on the long term list.

There is another thread going http://forums.demonland.com/index.php?showtopic=13796

It has been suggested that Jamar has been put on the LTI due to foot related stress fractures. If this is true it makes sat game a little more interesting

Reports from PS3 in Cairns stated that PJ came off with what has variously been described as an ankle injury or a hip injury. The latter would be a bit ominous because he did have a hip op off season. He did come back onto the ground so it seems likely that it's a precautionary rest and hopefully nothing more.

Good pick up Jack, also with Jamar out, there's no need to risk PJ before rd 1. If Jamar isn't put onto the LTI and PJ strains a hammy against the dogs, that leaves only Meesen to ruck with Spencer stuck on the Rookie list.

I can confirm that was talking to Pj on facebook and he says he rolled it in cairns so he is having a week off

As far as I know -

4. Jack Watts (school) check Brighton Grammar's fixture

11. Paul Johnson (ankle) short term

12. Colin Sylvia (leadership group imposed suspension) round 1 if selected

19. Addam Maric (rehab after hip operation) reasonably soon

24. Russell Robertson (Achilles) another month, then Casey.

30. Tom McNamara (recovered from injury - probably with Casey next week)

31. Paul Wheatley (calf) reasonably short term

33. Austin Wonaemirri (hamstring) two more weeks (?)

35. Trent Zomer ® (Casey next week)

38. Daniel Hughes ® (unknown injury, unknown length of time out)

40. Mark Jamar (stress fracture in foot) long term - at least 8 weeks

45. Matthew Whelan (calf) hopefully reasonably short term

46. Sam Blease (school) check Yarra Valley's fixture

47. James Strauss (Casey next week)

48. Liam Jurrah (Casey next week)

Very happy to see Kyle Cheney is the team, to me he looks like a player who will work his butt off but wont be the fans favorite. just a little workhorse.

Rohan Bail looks ready. But one would think he would have to make the most of his opportunities more then, say a Sam Blease.

Brad Miller is growing on me more and more. His stocks were so low for me when he had that year ( i think 2 seasons ago, maybe 3 ) where he was supposed to be our enforcer. YUCK! Strength is in the head too boys.

Im not sold on Bell, Bartam and Dunn. I just cant be confident when they have the ball.

i am keeping the hype of rivers too a low, because i cant go through the pain of another injury interrupted season. He seems to be the first to go into battle but the first to get shot.

See you all at the game today, bring a rain coat, because it is pissing down in frankston, which is close to casey

I'll give you the news mate. It's pissing down everywhere. We were good in these conditions last week so it should suit us.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
