Yes....suddenly Schwab changes mind....all a bit of a coincidence all this.. . That rat smell just wont go away.

I'd rather a crafty Fox than a "what am I thinking today " Schwab!!

i want fox!

Only cause if we get Shwab i know what others will say about the romantic reunion at deeland.

Come on Jimmy just hire FOX

Why bother with this long and probably expensive process again when everyone knows its out of fox or shwab.

FOX FOX FOX GET FOX FOXY

I could have sworn I read reports last week that Cameron Schwab had ruled himself out for the new CEO job

You're not wrong - he did.

Hopefully we get the best man for the job. I'll feel slightly sorry for Schwab if he gets it, because even if he's the best candidate, some will feel it's not a position given on merit.

If Schwab wants it, it's hard to see how he won't get it.

IMO Fox is better suited for the job.

Lets hope it's not mates-rates hour at the MFC.

l reckon Fox will get it just to prove that its not a boys club

I heard an interview on SEN on Saturday where Schwab was under a lot of pressure from Robbo and co to confirm whether he would be putting in for the job.

He said his position is unchanged.

He is not quoted in the article, and all the recruiting guy is saying is that he is ‘available’ in that he is no longer working for an AFL club.

Unlike the Herald-Sun to take licence!

I am not convinced he will put himself up for the role. Afterall, there will be no shortage of jobs in the AFL. My sense is that he will end up at AFL house.

By the way, the only time we have looked like being any good in the past decades is when Schwab had an involvement.

Firstly when he was recruiting manager in the 80’s, and then when he was CEO in the late 90’s.

I just want the best person for the job. I heard Schwab speak on the weekend, he is a smart man. So is Stuart Fox obviously. When Schwab was with us what 10 years ago we seemed to be doing ok. Just get it right jimmy. Don't play favorites thinhk Hard headed Business. Stynes Has said He wants Melbourne to be "hated" again by opposition Supporters, Well first off, Go hard at getting the Best People.

There would be a lot of people out there relishing a Huge Challenge to get this club Firing again.

Would not be surprised if this just a matter of going through the motions by the board and Fox would be appointed to the position in the next couple of weeks, I also hope they do pick Fox because he has worked with the best in Cook and has seen how he helped reduced their debt I think was around 6mil at the time to what they are now, also I do think the AFL would not mind it as well, even though it annoys me to say it, but we do need their help at the moment.

How about an option for "I don't know their credentials well enough as i'm an outside supporter who doesn't know exactly what the club needs or wants, but will trust in the board's decision".

There could also be a second, but instead of trusting the board, it could read, "but i will make up my own mind and be critical of the board regardless."

This would show which fans don't know what's going on, from those that actually have a clue

this is basically "the i dont have a clue thread" but from our outsider point of you...who do u want to be ceo?

just getting an idea of what people want?

most people will agree with you that we dont have an idea but they would still probably have a preference

interesting the common worry it seems of melbourne making a "boys club"

fox is the man at the moment on this thread

Fox would have valuable experience having worked with the best in Cook.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well …

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
