Its a tricky situation because i really want us to win games but the more i read about the potential draftees and the benefit of having the no. 1 pick in the pre-season draft...i am really torn

what does the majority of you guys truelly want?

We must pick up Naitanui and then deal hard for a low 1st rounder to get Hurley.

This will go a long way to building that spine we have sorely missed.

Don't get me wrong, Rich would be awesome too but we have a plethora of current and up coming midfielders.

I was always one to win at all costs, but I think we've been trying to this this all year & we just cant - lack of talent & skill. So at until end of year, just play the youth & then BIG CLEAN OUT - NO SOFT SPOTS!!

If need be, trade for early draft picks.

well i think thats the thing...bailey has to bight the bullet and not be too loyal

we cant be too loyal, evem if people have a year left on their contract, if he doesnt think they can make the "premiership side" then they should be traded/delisted/forced to retire

Any other year I would probably go for win at all costs, but upcoming concessions for new teams means there is too much at stake to miss out on high picks this year.

We need a winning culture more than anything. We will finish bottom 2 or 4 anyway.

So PLAY TO WIN.

We have to get the no. 1 pick before the new teams come in or we'll be a bottom 4 team for years.

So i suggest keep playing Bell,Bartram & Bode and it's ours

Spot On. Take Geelong and Sydney as examples. This club cannot afford to tank and I doubt the word exists in Dean Bailey's vocab. Looking at our young guys today he's got plenty to work with. If a few things fell our way today we would of rolled them. We're going to get good picks regardless. Winning is everything. Espcially at a club that has accepted mediocrity as long as we have.

We need to play to win. We need to field the best team possible. At the same time we need to develop younger players and look forward.

Whether we achieve all those goals or not, we will still finish bottom 2 at best.

I have always believed in playing to win... except next w/e against the Tigers. This is a must lose game for us!! They are starting to look ordinary and we need them to get 1 more win!Natanui will help keep our club alive with the amount of people coming to watch him play, much like Buddy Franklin is doing for Hawthorn.

HB, you are way ahead of the plot. What say we finish last, get Natanui, and he does an ACL in the first practice game? What then?

This is Cargo Cult stuff, pure and simple.

Lets beat the tiges and the bombers (never a better name!). That's probably about it. We will finish bottom 2/4 and will get a very good player in the draft.

Natanui or whoever, they will be good, IF WE CHOOSE WELL.

I think we can win another 2-3 games and still get the number 1 pick.

There is a lot to look forwrd to the next 11 weeks.

A few more wins engineered by our exciting youngsters... Nick Natanui coming to the club ... Cameron Bruce being traded away.

We need to play to win, but only win one less than everyone else :)

Seriously, we need the number 1 pick and this year is the year to get it, Rich and Natanui are both great talents and we need one of them.

It's hard to see us winning 4 out of the last 11 games anyway.

Posted

I'll be happy with NikNat or Rich but PSD 1 could prove a big carrot this year.

Richmond can have this weekend and i'll take the Rd 22 game where we go for our 4th win of the year.

After 11 rounds we have 1 win. Play the kids give them Game time. At years end have a HUGE cleanout and start afresh. Bailey has no reason to have made Favorites. He must treat the situation as a business

Good idea jacey, that should satisfy most. However where are the other 2 wins going to come from?

Be werry werry careful !!

Its no about US wining 4 or less games..its abpout us finishig on teh bottom.. That means winning less than Freo and essendon and Westies.

There is far more to this that simply US not winning

Dont be mistaken ,

dont be mislead..

in order to get the pick we want

we must finish dead ( last )

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
