Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Hah ha comedy gold. You're dreaming.

Hibberd AA in his first year. Pick 29. Break even?

Melksham our best fwd in the second half of the year by some margin. 2nd round pick?

I'd like four more disasters like that this trade period.

Too right.

There's clubs in the league with multiple A graders on their lists that have been playing finals for quite some time. All this talk about us not spending some cash on elite talent like Kelly or Lever for the risk of losing our current youngsters in the future is BS.

Our young blokes are professional footballers. They realise the deficiencies in our list better than we as supporters do, they know what the team needs. If they want the ultimate success of a flag or three in their careers they will negotiate a commensurable contract that allows the club to trade in A grade jets to enable that success.

The top clubs who appear to have very little to offer manage to find something and turn it into a trade to get exceptional players on their list. Geelong with Dangerfield, Zach Touhy, Scott Selwood, Rhys Stanley, Zach Smith. Hawthorn with Mitchell and Omeara and whatever. My point is it can be done.

I expect us to do the same this year because we have more to offer and being middle of the road either means you're heading up or down. We can't afford to go back to the draft for more potential talent. We need to nut up and get the players that will plug those gaps and help win us flags.

Sell the farm now and get Lever and Kelly ffs.

Window is open.

Jake lever if he comes will be a massive addition. A young all Australian standard intercept defender is definitely what we need.

Id also be asking the question if lachie Whitfield.

If we landed both it'd be a dream off seasin

yep..id be happy with that and possibly a FA/rFA type who might fit in somewhere

Not fussed about the draft tttt..Suppose itd make a nice story to get the other Brayshaw   but one thing I will agree about with Roos is  youre better off trading for talent later...everything else is a raffle really.

Melksham had an outstanding year, when you consider he missed last season (for reasons I can't recall).

The first third of the year Goodwin played him out of position.  When he was moved forward of centre, he was consistently amongst our best players.

Then pick 29 for and All Australian is a huge win for us.

I'm still nervous, only cos I think Collingwood needs a player like Lever even more than us, and they are very keen also.  Hopeful that we get him, but it's not over the line methinks

I disagree. Howe plays the intercept marking role pretty well. It is a real pity he didnt show that form more consistently at the dees. Makes mw wonder what went down

Wasn't someone in another thread saying Andrew Gaff wanted to come home?

Would fulfil 1 criteria. Being a Dees supporter is 2

Satisfy the Eagles, and we have our outside runner. With Lever across half back, it looks good to me.

Look at the other names on the list during his time with us.

Your answer would at least in part, be there somewhere I reckon.

Gaff would be a great option for us.  He fills a need , as you say,

But how do we get him without giving up pick 10? No way would I trade that for him, and we need it for Lever.

I've read on here that Frost & someone else for Lever.

Ok, probably b.s, but it would leave this years/next years picks for others

Lever with trades

Gaff AND Kelly, with this years and next years 1st and 2nd rd picks, leaving 3rd rd and up for Taylor to work his magic.

Would love Whitfield, Miller or Gaff, I'd probably say Whitfield and Miller are more likely to leave then Gaff, but I'd be stoked with any 3 of them

No sure Gaff is worth a first and second round pick, especially if it's from next year's super draft. Gaff is a down hill skier imo.

Was thinking 2 x 2nd rd for Gaff.  ***also doesn't mean we can't get something back.

At least it shows we CAN make the trades, if we really want to.

Thats way too much for Gaff.

Maybe if they gave us a 3rd rounder back.

Those picks make a great starting point, when many on here are saying we dont have the tools to trade. We have plenty.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
