Well it’s time for me to whack on my favourite broken record then...

Let’s ask Adem Yze to be our new coach.

You need to not criticise people who look at things differently than you do. It could just as easily be said that the site has been infiltrated by people who want to put the boots into every club official and activity undertaken at MFC. Rest assured everyone who posts on here is hugely disappointed.

I am sure the site is infiltrated by people who put the boots into the admin and officials for decisions for their own agenda. My agenda is to state my view on decisions as I see them. If I was at a power club I am sure I would be less critical as they make far better decisions and long term planning for success. Some of the big issues this year have included.

No home base

Bringing in of Lever for $$$ and picks

Bringing in of May for big $$ and picks

Hogan is no loss

Viney captaincy

Mission

Jennings gameplan

Goodys coaching

All I am saying is some on here have defended the Club at every turn. Now that could be the sort of loyalty I had for 50 years or it could be something else.

This is a much better post. Let me just say many things still need to be played out. I reckon we'll know about 6 games into next season

Last week it was  wait 10 weeks or to the bye.

Fairly typical. Haven't seen a second of the game but chime in with pithy comments 'what does anyone expect'

Typical of what? I don't apologise for refusing to wallow in misery like the grumpy old men on here. Maybe it's because I have realistic expectations, I knew we'd lose easily based on the selected teams. Did anyone see our named forward line and realistically expect us to win? Give me a spell

Melbourne’s resisting an external footy review. I’ve got faith in Goodwin and Mahoney too. But surely it could only help getting some external appraisal of their footy program. The players resolved to click into gear in this latter part. They simply haven’t

You would never know that Carlton and saints are not in the finals.

By the way they are playing u would think they were playing off for a finals spot.

Big difference to the game I watched last night.

Imo there is no point in playing next week cause we don’t turn up anyway.

It’s Groundhog Day again.

Look at the comments from Dermot.

Says it all

“They are deplorable. I feel sorry for the supporters because they are a meaningless team at the moment.

We are back to the good old days,  that didn’t take long.

Maybe just maybe the mid field are getting ground down, they manage to dominate the hit-outs and inside 50's by a fair way only to see the Swans defense run the ball back out, add to that our inaccuracy in front of goal and the smallest forward line that I have ever seen in an AFL game along with Tracc playing in the ruck when Max went off. What was everyone expecting, the rain didn't come and the Swans kicked their most accurate score for the year, could not miss, we couldn't hit a chook in the bum with a hand full of wheat..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Half that team won't get a run when we have a full list to pick from, why continue beating yourselves up, sometimes you just have to be realistic, some of those players may not even be on the List next year, we are not always masters of our own destiny.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How is he putting the boots in? He says he believes in the coach and club, but thinks they still would be best served by an external review. I agree. Within a club you see what you want to, those outside see what’s there.

The only thing worse than watching our team play, is not watching because I don't give a [censored] anymore. That hurts. I hate not caring and I hate that I'm permanently out of love with footy. Thanks Melbourne . . . No really . . . Thanks.

This. I hate football and I simply cannot muster up enough care to even go to games if it’s wet or at an inconvenient time. I used to move heaven and earth to watch us play. I went on crutches with a broken knee for 2 months while we were on the bottom of the ladder. But I’m exhausted. Supporting this club and caring so much is soul destroying and toxic.

It's not just this issue, he keeps digging at us, and I'll guarantee this won't be the last bit of niggle.

Just on the review, I agree, there is benefit to going external, unless the problems are well known to the club and they have a fix planned. The club have repeatedly said there'll be no external review, but TB keeps pushing it. He should've walked away, but he won't.

I can’t help but laugh that the “After the siren” address to the fans this week is just snippets from the post match presser.

I mean I get that it’s awkward and uncomfortable to stare down the barrel of the camera week after week to try and provide hope to the fans after the latest inept performance for which you are largely responsible. I’m sure Goodwin regrets ever agreeing to do it. But surely the very LEAST you can do under these circumstances is to see it through to the end.

Two weeks to go and they’ve decided a few edits from the post match presser will do.

This club is just laughably pissweak.

The club may be down (again) but being a stubborn bastard I am still a diehard demon supporter. i will be back cheering again next year (when there is something to cheer about) and the year after if my heart does not give out before watching some of our poorer performances. We know they have the capability to play good football, but so seldom executed. Yes there were a few truely woeful players who played for us this year, they wont be there next year, but all in all apart from max and one or two others most of the team shares the blame for this years poor performance. yes a year can make a hell of a difference, i am hoping next year will be a totally reverse image of this year.

I sure hope so!   Can’t see this being fully turned around with Goodwin at the helm!

Seems to ignore all the positive influences that nearly every other team in the AFL has utilised to improve successfully.

Just two ins - or rather one in and one less out - so Preuss to relieve Max and Hunt to provide a marking target forward could have made a difference. I have no idea what went on at selection unless the intent was to break the club's confidence entirely.

Yes that's it ...... That's the reason.. so we have the Mother of all comebacks next year! Cant be anything else.

Reality is .......that's nothing but "A Strange Fantastic Dream"

There's a couple of songs on it about our footy club too can you guess which ones??

I have tried to be optimistic but tonight was the straw. The primary blame for tonight rests firmly with the coaches. No tall of any sort forward and we played ANB, JKH, Spargo,Stretch who are not up to it. Seriously at least Hunt has tried all year and has shown signs. Then we throw Frost forward as an admission of the spectacular selection failure. And what were our mids doing. Max got every tap and they were nowhere to be seen. Secondary is those picked played with no heart. No one will want to join this rabble. It breaks my heart.

it was an embarrassing performance. Just pathetic.

I agree Robbie, embarrassing, but your looking at the wrong players & the wrong reasons for the answers......

It is simply the coach, I like Goodwin but he’s been out coached every week of this season, its been quite pathetic to watch, I couldn’t watch on Friday, it was deplorable sitting there embarrassed for the football team I love, we need to get rid of Goodwin and pay Roos $2 million to comeback for another 3 years

I’m overseas and so haven’t seen a second of the game.

Waking up to see a 9-goal loss to a side that was on the road for the second week in a row, playing kids, on a 5 (or more?) game losing streak, in our “member appreciation round”, was amazingly disappointing.

I’m rapidly losing confidence in the club, which is sad. I’d kept that for much of the season and I still think our 5-16 record is worse than our actual performance, but this sort of loss shouldn’t happen, no matter who is on the park.

A year ago this weekend we were all on here all happy and talking about making finals because we beat west coast.

What a difference 12 months make. All the talk on here is should the coach be sacked, do we need a new captain and players arguing on field.

Has to be cultural IMV.  Have a reasonable year....relax & get happy....have a [censored] year.

Have a few good wins (not this year) .... relax & get happy... lose the next 3 games.  Win the next game against a bottom dweller with half its team injured...relax & get happy ...lose the next 5.

2018.....win 6 on the trot....relax & get happy (including taking eye off the ball ....eg; Max spying on Collingwood training sesh) .... lose the next 3 including the QB just after the Max spying sesh and against the lowly Saints by 2 points, which probably cost us a double chance and a shot at the big one.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
