  4. Strong team win from a tough scrambly game ... on top of a short break. Class does show through ! Two wins in Adelaide - who else has done that? Inexplicable umpiring at times! Bring on Brisvegas!

  5. It was two wins from two games on the road for the Demons as they easily cruised past the Crows before the 5 day break took it's toll in the last eventually downing Adelaide by 15 points.

  7. Steven May take an absolute bow. What a star!!! A great team performance, against the umps, off a 5 day break, against a team that desperately needed a win at their home ground. So proud of this club, after all the garbage we had thrown at us this off season, we didn’t let it impact us instead we said “watch this” 🫡

  9. I'm seeing lots of takes that we'll win this by 5-10 goals. I get it, we have been going fairly well - but we are playing the Crows at home, and they are under fire with a poor start to atone for. Regardless of whether they have been poor, those games don't matter. This game is what matters. They have played us very well recently and I'm not that bullish. Sure, we CAN win by those margins - but so could they. Against us - a few injury clouds, a 5 day break, hostile crowd - these aren't nothings. I'm not saying we won't win, or that we can't win by those margins, I'm just kind of in awe of the confidence shown by others. I'll be happy for us to grind out a gutsy, team-effort win against a decent oppositioin at their home. Dees by 10 points, holding them off late.

  10. That’s every game for me. EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. Seeing quite a few Dees fans here. More so than any other team (apart from the home teams). Seeing too many Collingwood fans, as well. I mean, I’ve only seen one but that’s one too many amirite??? 😝 I just walked past four awesome Dees fans, namely Max, Jess, George and Louis Gawn. Pushing the pram and blending in just like any other family out shopping. Any other family where the dad’s a 10-foot beanpole that is.

  11. Since round 0 our games have been professional, disciplined and clinical. We have a new belief in the way we are playing and have stuck to our task. The camaraderie that was missing in 22,23 is back along with care for our teamates. They are driven to go 2-0 in Adelaide and will turn it on tonight Dees by 32 pts Kozzie to kick 5 in his home town

  16. Sparrow played 98% Midfield and 2% forward tonight. Rounds 0-3 he was 46% midfield. A very solid game by Tommy tonight.

  17. It’s a pleasure supporting a good team. It really is. We all have a whinge and get down on them from time to time but we really have to remember to appreciate this team and this time. Won’t last forever. And blimey we all know what the lows are like.

  18. The umpiring is terrible, it’s so below the standard it’s farcical.

  19. We were absolutely cooked in the last. We put the foot down in the third knowing we would run out of gas in the last. That last quarter was just professional defensive slog. Brilliant. Don’t underestimate how tough these two games were.

  26. Great effort by the boys tonight. Up against a team with extra players, short break, banged up and a playing in front of a hostile crowd. Great to get the win and now have a little extra rest before we are back at home!

  27. What a trip for the club. Take the points and get the hell out of there! Strange night on the stats sheet again. Lots of players down on numbers. Got it done though

  28. Winning two games in Adelaide in 5 days will be an enormous fillip to our season. The Crows will be trying to regain some pride and credibility in front of their home crowd, so expect early fireworks. But..... after a tight first half we will stone the Crows by 3 or 4 goals! Expect a breakout night from Kozzie.

  29. I'm loving what Clarry is doing at the moment, he's clearly nowhere near his best, getting a lot of attention but he's battling his [censored] off and playing a team role when it's needed! what i absolutely love is i think previously Clarry would have gotten frustrated and given away stupid free kicks when he's not flying, but now he just seems to want to help the team win. he's had a very hard time clearly and not helped himself but geez it's good to see the redemption arc that's playing out in 2024

  35. This is going to be a much harder game than most people think. Adelaide are not a bad team, and they are under the pump. With May sore, Viney possibly sick, Clarry with a bung hand and Trac and Chandler also sore, I think it will be a tight contest.

  37. I’m going early with this but have been watching Chandler very closely this year and I see a different player to last year. I think he’s upped his endurance by about 15%. His pressure acts, and tackling have improved, and he remains brave as. I would very much like to see a proper I/V with him to get more of a sense of him, I’d like to believe he is a very decent young man. (Gus and Gawn he was hamming it up) To my point, he is ANB 2.0, lots of hard defensive running, role player, and I think we are quickly starting to rely on his defensive pressure, it is something about his effort that makes me think he has moved past a few on the list. I was genuinely nervous when he’s had some leg knocks as I don’t think he’s obvious replacements match him for defensive efforts. For mine most improved player so far this season. Oh and if he’d kicked that snap that hit the post in the opening qtr last week, I reckon he’d almost be in the votes, was a great bit of work that just missed.

  44. Unfortunately he’s not at all interested in footy. Not one of my sons is even slightly interested in footy. I must’ve done something heinous in a previous life, maybe mass murder. They’re hipsters and I’m a loudmouth bogan mum, apparently. 🙄 This morning at 3:30am no one I know was awake so I sent a flurry of excited Go Dees messages to my firstborn who lives in Poland. He responded… 😅

  45. At the airport and can’t wait for this weekend. First time to the Adelaide Oval for me so looking forward to seeing what the fuss is all about. The only downside is I have been roped into attending the Pies match on Sunday with my husband. I told him I cannot promise I will not be hurling abuse at he who shall not be mentioned. Will definitely be hoping the Hawks get up. Go Dees

  46. Adelaide the number 1 scoring side in the whole competition in 2023. This year they have scored 54, 77 and 34 pts. Something is going wrong at West Lakes. Tonights not the night they are going to turn that ship around. Go Dees

  48. Very relaxed vibe amongst the players and staff at yesterday’s Captain's Run. The drills were no more than 3/4 paced, and there was very little contact work. I reckon we will be as fresh as we can be coming off a 5 day break, but I still worry a bit about this aspect. Having said that, the Crows have shown no form to worry about this season, and I reckon we have them well covered. No doubt they will come out firing, and the crowd will be their ally (until we shut them up!) but they will need more than that. I don’t think it will be an ‘easy kill’, but a kill it will be. 49. Mentioned in another thread that a South Australian played a very central role in the development of penicillin. The dual flush toilet also emerged from South Australia. Would be poetic if we could send the two local teams' seasons down the drain in the space of one week.
