Seeing as he has now helped the Brisbane Lions win a Premiership as as an assistant coach, we should now look to pursue Cameron Bruce to return to the Melbourne Football Club. Cameron Bruce has been at both the Hawks and Lions and been quite successful as an assistant coach. I think he has had almost 10 years of coaching experience now. Cameron Bruce was an excellent player for the Melbourne Demons. We could look to have him take over as our forward line or midfield coach with Nathan Bassett (who is possibly coming to the Melbourne Demons too). Anyway, the more help we can give to Simon Goodwin to strengthen our coaching panel the better!16 points

That was my second life lesson, don’t whine, feel sorry for yourself or give time being negative about something that you can’t change. The Big O’s excitement during and after the game (especially for his replacement) was beautiful.13 points

I'm actually rapt for fagan. Just a shame Brisbane couldn't do this performance last year12 points

Absolutely Oscar McInErnery's energy in the medal presentation. Pure goofy, loving joy. Suspect that has been a big part of keeping the team upbeat during some rough early times.10 points

Nah, he wasn't. His stats looked ok but once again, played like a little man in a big man's body. He had no impact. Rowbottom was actually their best player, and by some margin. Grundy just piled up a bunch of fairly irrelevant handballs and took the grand total of one contested mark for the game. The Lions would be stoked with Fort's game.9 points

Bodie Grundy was useless today in the Grand Final. But he has a lot of team mates in the same boat. Swans sh*t the bed against the Lions!9 points

Wilson article https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theage.com.au%2Fsport%2Fafl%2Fdemons-counting-the-cost-of-brayshaw-s-forced-retirement-20240926-p5kdpr.html it annoys me how she felt the need to slip the other stuff in that is irrelevant to the story What also really annoys me is how our playing group has let Maynard off - we all know what I am talking about. It really is enough to cruel my desire to continue a membership, a fact I think I might convey to membership/Pert. I think it’s really poor and disrespects Gus - Wilson even states the club is saddened at the manner of his departure and last game - would it be too much to focus some attention on the cause? Hope he can get back on the golf course soon - from any injury/insurance law types here, I’d love to know why his impending settlement precludes any exercise (the lack of which in and of itself is injurious both physically and mentally)9 points

Apparently he was very upbeat all week & didn't moan about his injury or missing out8 points

Well the only logical conclusion from this is that our boys need to have a wild footy trip, and a poorly managed WhatsApp group.8 points

His epic bump on Hoskin-Elliot on the King's Birthday will always be etched in my brain8 points

I loved the idea, the thinking outside of the box. Had it worked everyone would have called our football department geniuses. If it worked, it had the potential to be devasting. It didn't work, sometimes the gambles don't work. It proved Max needs to be the number one guy. We found out that Max's forward exploits can't be turned into a consistent performance. But we did try it. Pretty strange for a coaching staff described as stubborn hey?7 points

Watching Brisbane today made me realise how bad our skills are at times. Brisbane just run hard for each other and create space, they don't fumble and there forward line is open & they don't get in each other's way.7 points

Been way worse players and far worse blokes than him win one - as hard as it is to fathom7 points

Well deserved Norm Smith by the young fella. Petracca played better in our GF though.7 points

My great grand uncle was five time fitzroy permiership player winning three and coach for one of those as well, He will be smiling down quite happily at this result7 points

Please take no offense to this, but this is one of the ****test takes on Demonland. Collingwood and Maynard competed so hard post flag they didn’t even make the 8.7 points

Yeah nah. Factually incorrect and a completely made up from your end. There are reasons why she left, this wasn't one of them.7 points

Takes way too long to get rid of it and has very little dare in his game. He’s reliable, and a hard worker, and he had a good moment or two in the qualifying final. But honestly he’s as vanilla as they come. Our decline had nothing to do with him.6 points

Unironically yes! I reckon the Big O got a lot of new fans today. Best sort of guy to have at a club. Seems legitimately selfless6 points

You're kidding? You seriously think Roffey left because of a bad radio interview?6 points

Today's just proves why it's incredibly important to have an experienced and well seasoned back up ruck ready to go when needed. You think Chris Fagan wouldn't have breathed a sigh of relief knowing he's got a solid back up there ready to go after big O went down. As Max Gawn has said this week, Darcy Fort just needs to compete and scrag Grundy all day. Simple task.6 points

Like any Dees player, wish him well in retirement and thank him for his efforts.6 points

Got in the queue at 6;40am, Could have gotten here at 8:24 and got the seat next to me 😂6 points

The other thing I like to say to Collingwood fans is “I don’t know why you idolise Maynard so much, he lost you the 2018 grand final”. They don’t like that.6 points

Great to see players win a flag that walked out on the Bombers Must burn their fans. Daniher is a fantastic player. He draws 2-3 defenders5 points

Happy the Lions and Fagan but worried about them when they add Ashcroft next year They bat so deep. Blokes like Ah Chee are their 10-15th best player and is so skilled5 points

I'm in the Manly pub in brissy and the crowd are going bananas Super happy for them5 points

Shows how hard flags are to win. We were able to grind after going 4 goals down in the late in the third and then went berserk. Sydney didn’t just choke, there is a mental chasm that they can’t seem to shake. ‘21 was great, but what I would give to actually win one at the G after experiencing all the week long lead up5 points

Amazing from Brisbane. Disgraceful from Sydney. Mental scars for sure. Probably my favourite out of everything was Darcy Fort. Won the ruck IMO but as soon as the siren sound he went straight to McInerney.5 points

Brisbane are really going to enjoy this final quarter Don't forget Brisbane came 5th. They've done this outside the top 45 points

Swans have been grossly, woefully uncompetitive in 2 grand finals in 3 years. Whatever they’re doing in the lead-in week is just plainly the wrong thing. Otherwise, not sure how I’d feel if I was a Swans supporter.5 points
-
Other things I’d like to see: at half time, an alien ship hovers over the stadium and it beams up Hipwood, once and for all putting the debate to bed as to whether or not he is an alien.5 points

Swans for me. For JJ and honestly I would be happy for Grundy too. I despise Brisbane, even tho I don’t mind Fagan. Overall it’s not the worst outcome because Pies Carlton Geelong and Essendon can’t win.5 points
-
CORRECT!!!! We have tried to copy the superbowl and it just makes us look like hicks. The problem is, the AFL has no faith in its product. It doesn't believe that people might actually go to the footy to watch the footy.5 points
