Thanks again Kev. Only Bayley and Christian were training. They were fantastic with my boys having a kick to kick with them. Had a nice chat about the round ball game with Christian who is a mad Arsenal fan.9 points

No team training! One demon out on Gosch's at the moment. Mr.May, doing sprints with intervals. Melbourne Storm are in full force, on the oval next to AAMI. Brayshaw has just arrived.6 points

That would eliminate Spencer (7 years, 122 games), Warne-Smith (9/138), Chadwick (9/141), Ridley (9/130 - 5 flags!!) and Mithen (9/153). Fwiw, I think Clarrie’s already there, and is one of our all-time greats, Trac not far behind. Together with Max we are blessed to be able to enjoy 3 of our best-ever stars playing together in our current team. And from what I’ve read and heard I wouldn’t be dropping Spencer, Mithen and IWS from our rolling Team of the Century.5 points

No...I wouldn't think so. Smith was a gun, his coaching deeds overshadow those as a player but he could play.4 points

Do you mean just current players, or those who have played since the team was made. I think Neitz would be an inclusion for the latter criteria. Currently only Gawn and Oliver for me. I think Trac can get there but needs a few more star seasons yet to be elevated to this company.3 points

Perhaps they are out at Casey, or the volunteer was wrong. I'll have a wonder down to Gosch's, Monday.2 points

I'm a big fan of the Viney clan but Todd sticks out like a sore thumb in that team. A very good player, for sure, but only had a few seasons where he could be considered truly elite. Was a butcher with the ball for most of his career. Max and Clarence are obvious inclusions (goodbye Stynes and Viney) and Trac certainly gets a gig in the emergencies (replacing Wells or Alves), if not yet the final 22.2 points

I reckon it was Salem, because today's Petracca's birthday and I'd reckon he's out celebrating.2 points

Doesn't feel like there's many in 'us all', Mr D! Still, for you at least, I point back to the title and that our Norm and his team would be simpatico. I suspect you'll get it now, and feel free to post it directly here for due plaudits. I'm not getting a vibe of any competition!2 points

You have us all bamboozled, Timothy. I think another clue may be in order!2 points

Agree and how fast the ball went into the forward line in the GF from 19 point down. Just became too slow going forward in 2022!2 points

Do you live at Gosch’s paddock? Under a tree by any chance? Or just within binocular distance? You are a star on your training reports, greatly appreciated.2 points

The curious case of Kysaiah Pickett: Despite action Jackson's sudden departure for WA, we have the late re-signing of Angus Brayshaw to the mighty red and blue as a positive precedent for the club. So there is no inevitability in Pickett bolting just because he hasn't yet extended his contract. But if we can't hang on to him it will leave a bitter taste, that's for sure. Maybe then we will finally 'get it' that AFL players are just one big rolling scrum of mates who catch up for a chat at the final siren. Meanwhile we continue to fork out memberships persuaded that this is not the case.2 points

People stop hyping up JVR guy, may not play too many games at a high level. Picket will go for the money, get what we can. Doubt if Grundy and Gawn will spend time on the ground together. How about a review into winning all those games straight then hitting the wall, how did it all go belly up?2 points

Bit of a gamble, with having to disappoint the kids. I will post tomorrow morning just before 9.30am if they are out on Gosch's. They could be at Casey or may delay their start of the 2023 campaign till Friday or next week.2 points

1 Next 4 Flags in a Row nar actually make it 5 and hopefully my hard drive doesnt run out of space 2 Choo Choo BROWNLOW 3 The Brodie Grundy and Max Gawn pairing becomes the most talked about mistake by the toothless Pies as a basket case of a decision to let him go as he, Lachy Hunter, and "The Shackey Attacky" have stellar seasons2 points

He may not be our best player, but he's arguably out most irreplaceable player. I can't think of a small forward that would be on the market that kicks 45 goals a season with the tricks and defensive pressure that Kozzie provides. At least with Jackson departing we got a readily replaceable player with a chip on his shoulder and hopefully a point to prove. It will be a set back for 2024 if he does end up departing.2 points

I'm surprised that posters were unfamiliar with the words termagant and harridan. They were in common usage in 19th century writing and before. The Victorian and part of the Edwardian eras must have been wonderful times. In moments of bliss, I imagine myself as a disgustingly rich mill or factory owner, abusing my power in the most dissolute ways. Arrh what might have been!1 point

1: Dangerfield retires due to his guernsey not pulling over his head. 2: North have a worse year under Clarkson than Noble. (If that’s even possible) 3: Fremantle finish 19th.1 point

I am very excited over Seston and his potential, but he is a mile away from the senior team and will need plenty of time at Casey and probably another pre season, to build his fitness for AFL football. Luckily we now know how to develop players and not destroy them, by selecting them too early for AFL level footy.1 point
