  1. North showed us last week how to win, just kick 64 points to nil in the first quarter.

  2. Q: “Did you know Tom McDonald could go forward and actually kick goals?” BERNIE: “Well, the goals he kicked were floaters and that’s actually all he kicks, so I’m not sure how they floated through. Lucky there was no wind."

  3. Gee I love this club! Positives everywhere! Leadership was brilliant tonight - Viney, Jones, McDonald, Lewis etc. all stood up brilliantly tonight. Clayton Oliver is quickly becoming not just the best midfielder at our club but one of the best in the competition. What a player. Petracca into the midfield changed the game for us as well and hopefully he can spend more time in there in the coming weeks. Big shout out to the backline who, with help from the midfield, kept the Crows to just 66 points. This is a side who regularly spank teams with huge scores, yet their forwards barely got a look in all night. I could go on and on and on.... but I think I'll go and watch the replay! DEMONS!

  6. I don't agree on The Weed. He didn't get many touches, but he chased, tackled and crashed packs all night. He found ways to get involved. He wasn't amazing by any means, but he did the job we needed him to do.

  8. I was there tonight. Went up from Melbourne with my son as his 7th bday present! The boys delivered big time. When we were 26 down, away, against a good side, undermanned, I thought it would get ugly. So much to like about tonight. The way the backline setup, the numbers we got to the ball, the incredible tackling, the 1 on 1 performances and the even contribution.... magic win!

  9. The pants were off, the scarf was waving and the dimmies went flying as my wife and mother in law came home from dinner with as Truck got his goal with about ten minutes left! I asked how their dinner was and they said not as good as mine by the looks of things! GO YOU GOOD THANGS! THAT WAS WILD!

  11. Goodwin also showed tonight that he can react and change to suit the game - his move of McDonald forward was terrific and adding Petracca to the midfield was a masterstroke. He isn't afraid to change things up and we are reaping the rewards because of it. It also shows how much the players trust him as well. Great stuff all round.

  12. Now that the club has a back of jumper sponsor in iSelect, I guess all our troubles are over and we should beat Adelaide easily tonight.

  13. I've been expecting that every week. Kid is hard as [censored]. No fear. [censored] this sport sometimes.

  14. For me, the worst period was the two weeks after my dad’s funeral. The adrenaline and meaning of the funeral were gone and there was just this mounting emptiness over the next few weeks that really was hard to deal with. I’m not surprised Jesse’s having trouble now, if it is that and not an injury.

  15. Waiting for Steve's analysis on the McDonald boys and Frosty. I was there, or should I say I am here. A win for the ages. Our running, particularly defensively was outstanding.

  16. That was just awesome. Adelaide couldn't get free ball, we just kept pressuring them. Sixth time in the history of the club we've gone over 90 tackles. Jacobs had 74 hitouts but we won the clearances and smashed them in centre clearances 18-6. How you pick the best players out of that I have no idea. Pedersen was huge, Hibberd had 34 Disposals. Viney had 30 and 12 tackles, Oliver 30, 10 tackles and a goal. TMac turned the game when he went forward. Petraccca in the midfield was unstoppable. Vince tagger Sloan almost entirely out of the game. Jetta sat on Betts for all but five minutes, Salem had 31 quality touches... Insane. This was what we've been waiting to see from this side. Controlled ball-use in attack, hard-nosed uncompromising defence and versatility to change things up when we needed to. If we play like that we can beat any side in the league. We just need to see it every week now.

  17. What a one-two punch we've got here. Oliver was outstanding and what a goal! Petracca was being wasted up forward when we couldn't win a clearance and like last week putting him in the middle got us back in the game. He wins the ball with brute force, keeps his feet and uses it well. I love him.

  18. What was that?! Kept Adelaide to 66 - their lowest score at Adelaide Oval since Round 9 2015 against Fremantle (minor premiers and defensive kings that year). Indeed, that's Adelaide's second lowest score at the Adelaide Oval ever. What an incredible win. We're out of the 8 at the end of this round but we'll only be a game behind 4th (which is a Geelong team that is average at best). Clearly, we have the capacity to be a dominant side this year. Cannot wait to watch the replay!

  21. 10 point down at half time? We'll take it. If you take away those first 10 minutes of the second term where they kicked 5 on the trot, we've been the better side. Our attack and pressure on the ball has been good and we've forced them in to turnovers which has frustrated them. We aren't giving them a run at the footy and they don't really know what to do about it. We need to come out far more switched on than we did in the second term, though. Lots to like about the first half.

  22. Hannan and Petracca absolutely must present scoring options or we're stuffed I think. Watts has to spend most of the game forward and TMac to take Watts' share of the ruck. I'm okay with getting annihilated in the hitouts, what I'm not okay with is watching their ruckman take marks all over the ground. I think I'll live if we have another one of those games where we are on top with the ball but have difficulty scoring - I think without a key forward that has to be expected a bit. I'm going to be sad if we start the game asleep and lose because of it again though. Like I said in the preview thread, I think there's a good chance we'll be outclassed, especially now that we're without our key forward again, but I really want to see improvements on delivering a four quarter effort. It's coming; hopefully it starts now.

  27. This last part is what stands out to me, Ralph. In amongst some of the disappointment from this year it's easy to forget how we've been in every single game so far. Tonight it clicked for 4 quarters against the top side and we made them look second rate. Consistency is still the key, but if we bring that effort over 4 quarters every week then, as you say, we can beat any side in the league. Exciting times ahead!

  36. Hogan (injured) Watts Pedersen (needed in the ruck) Weideman Smith (injured) How many clubs have 6 key forwards on their list? It's why Pedersen was kept on the list, but as it happens all our rucks fell over too. You can't mitigate against every possible risk on the list.

  37. Tex will leave the field early, will require stitches at hospital to sew up his split sides from laughing at a McDonald bros. error, money is on a quadruple falcon from a metre apart. Kent will lay 18 tackles in one go, just by rolling across the field. Will end the night with 300 tackles and 40 corralling efforts. Eddie will get 1 miracle goal on Jetta. That'll be it. Jetta will get a goal too. Bernie will tag the whole team, get reported 4 times. All charges thrown out because he's so lovable. Pedo will kick 4. Which will probably be our total score.

  38. Is there a reason we never have a forward who leads and presents? It is the easiest way to straighten up and prevent the 2 millions sideways handballs, that lead to opposition goals every week.

  39. I had a call from iSelect a couple of days ago and they gave me solid discounts off my gas and electricity bills, as well as giving me a voucher to pick up a brand new guernsey from the Demon Shop. I asked them if they were calling to placate members after the Hawthorn loss. The lady laughed. It appears she knew what was up. This is great though. Well done PJ and co.

Ah everything's falling into place: the wife and mother in law are going out for dinner, kids will be in bed by 7.00, dimmies will be in the steamer, pants will be off, new jumper sponsor, watch a cracker game of footy (one can only hope!) in the safety of my own couch/home. What could possibly go wrong?!

  42. It can go on even longer if you happen to have a rello who cany abide a person's last testament. Twas nearly 3 years before my head was in a space to grieve. I only mention this as there is NO normal here. It'd be very individual to the mourner. There are good days, which then stribg together but it can only take the daftess thing to bring you undone. Itll be whatever it be.

  43. St Kilda blew a match winning lead - surely you now hope they lose as they'll clearly be the more miserable team of the two. At least in this game there's no way for sooky Melbourne supporters to manage to interpret the result as an insult against us since we've beaten both of them.
