  1. Whilst inevitable, I do feel for both Fitzy who has really battled for his career and Mc Kenzie who has always struck me a a terrific clubman. Never nice to see someone lose their job and I wish the best to all of them.

  2. I don't really know too much about him, but based on everyone else's reactions, this is a terrible decision!

  3. Best wishes to them all. They have at least played AFL football, a feat that most never achieve. To even make it onto an AFL list you have to be a very good footballer. To be a regular in an AFL side you need to be a great footballer. To be a star you need to be....well a star!. The fact is that very few blokes make it as far as these 4. They should be proud of their efforts and congratulated. It is not a time to bag players. They have done their best. Some are unlucky. Some for reason of ability, attitude or coaching decisions do not make it. However, they can always say they played in the big time. Not many can say that.

  4. I wish Roosy just emailed back and said STFU and lets us do our job. Fair dinkum people emailing the coach about who to pick and not to pick is downright stupid and pathetic.

  11. RoosGoodwin Bartlett AHG Michie Morton there's a few off the top of the head. As Ive said before, just because trades don't happen doesn't mean they arent tabled. you need to remember you barrack for Melbourne. Few blokes with options want to play for us. Do you think our meagre returns at the trade table are due to Mahoney and Viney sitting on their hands? Think what you want. I'm comfortable leaving you to stuff you read in Facebook and "The Haydn Bunton Thread"

  12. Good god man. There's a difference between aggressive trading and mind numbingly stupid trading.

  13. One of the more bizarre and off the mark posts I've read on Demonland in a while.

  14. The Bombers can nick off. I never share my Maccas with anyone, let alone someone involved with the Essendon Football Club.

  15. I wish Jordie all the best for the future. He's been a great and loyal servant of the club over the last 6 years, unfortunately (as mentioned in WJ's review) the game has evolved past his capibiities as a player. I remember meeting his dad on a tram en route to the footy a few years back. Aside from having Jordie's red hair, he said that his son loved playing with the Dees and always gave his best effort, never leaving any stone unturned. Even today, I would find it hard to disagree with that. He can certainly hold his head up high after giving his all during a very turbulent era for the club. Cheers Jordie.

  18. Not a shot at you personally, but how could anyone trust the clubs judgement, with regards to a specific WADA outcome? WADA are not appealing for fun, or to fight a losing cause just to show the world that they will chase the accused all the way. They are appealing, bacause they feel that the essedun players are GUILTY of using illegal, performance enhancing drugs, which may end in a 2 year ban for all players involved. Melbournes heirachy cannot have any inside info, as this is not an episode orchestrated by the AFL, or its lackeys. If they are found not guilty, and we trade our third round pick for Milkman, then all is good, and I would be reasonably happy with that. BUT Trade anything higher, and have Melksham put out of the game for ANY length of time due to a guilty finding, and I would be up the front, leading the chorus of voices demanding that whoever orchestrated the trade, be run out of our club forever, and that includes the coach in waiting. Simply cannot believe that we are looking at anyone from essedun. And if the scummers actually did ask for first round pick and Howe, then I would settle for nothing less than pushing him through to the PSD, and giving a nice, oversized, lengthy middle finger to the filthy scum.

  19. it could be just the break Jack Watts needs to have Melksham come in and replace him as the number one whipping boy

  20. 1st round pick AND Howe for Melksham is honestly the funniest thing ive ever heard.

  21. Personally Chook, I enjoy your posts and at this time of year I especially like the bits of gossip about possible trades etc, as it helps keep me interested. Of course every possible deal won't come off, but it is good to think about some of them and how the side would look different. I agree with you that until we become a good side we won't be seen as a destination club, but that will come and when it does we will have to remain so. You obviously know someone connected with the club and since the info is going across the Nullabor to you and then back again to us, I appreciate the info so keep it coming. While I enjoy your posts, I must admit that some of the stupidity written on here lately by a poster, predicting we will get every star player in the AFL, is just plain tiresome.

  22. It's seriously embarrassing. Melksham is the sort of player you recruit on the last day of trade week when you've been jilted at the altar by others. He's not a coup half way through September.

  25. Roos is pure class. Can't believe people are emailing him over a trade that hasn't even happened yet. Although I'm not sold on Melksham, if we get him for a reasonable deal (3rd round pick, maybe an exchange with Howe) then I don't see any problems with it. With guys like Trengove, Petracca, Frost and Kent (plus hopefully a Prestia) pushing for selection next year Melksham way not even be in our best 22. With Melksham, we are trading for depth, not starting 22 players.

  28. http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/38451-delistingstrades-at-end-of-the-season/page-101?hl=delistings Melbourne delists: Fitzy McKenzie Riley Bail No surprises I guess but always sad a demon player go. They did their best in tough circumstances. Wish them well. That makes at least 6 list changes.

  31. This will sound really selfish but I don't want him to get the senior Bombers job. He is a massive asset to our club and is a big part of our coaching structure for the future. When Roos departs next year Goodwin will need a right hand man that has been with him from early days to see him through his first year of senior coaching. Hoping Woosha will take the deal offered to him, although I wouldn't wish anyone upon that place right now.

  32. Really don't want to lose McCartney. Think he was the perfect replacement for Stone, and is very important for the continued development of our young guys. Why don't the Bummers just promote Neeld to the top job...? LOL

  34. Lol. Yep, that'll really be the end of it. Our 3rd tall defender in his late 20s being traded. I'm still not sure what we're going to do in Matt Jones' absence either.
