Plenty of rumours about that Goodwin said "I'm about to sign with Melbourne so sign me now or I'm gone". Who knows if it's true, but it sounds like the Reverse-Neeld. If it is, hopefully it works out just as well for them.9 points

If the Pies are the only club he wants to go to, then you can be pretty sure they have been into him for some time. Their behaviour is reprehensible if that is the case. No wonder Eddie is remaining totally silent on the issue.9 points

Forget my earlier support. He'd be no good. Unless he is still coming to us! In which case he'll be great8 points

Was hoping Dangerfield walked out, Sando stayed and we got Goodwin. Turns out Sando sacked, Goodwin a moral for Adelaide and Danger will stay.7 points

Sorry, as much as I loved Jimmy (like any Dees supporter), I am really getting tired of this line being trotted out. I'm sure MC did not ask for Jimmy's #11 and I'm sure he felt genuinely honoured to be given that number, but to say that somehow makes him beholden to Jimmy and that he is in some way or other besmirching Jimmy's memory is ridiculous. Sure have a go at him for being greedy, for being dishonest, for turning his back on his supporters and admirers... but to somehow tie this in with Jimmy?...7 points

I have no doubt that Clarks behaviour has been dishonourable and duplicitous and as such he would not be cooperating with us in any way. However Jackson and Roos are master strategists and will see his defection as an opportunity. Reading between the lines I think they view Clark as too big a risk and as such were only willing to give him a very basic contract. We will do well out of this situation but that doesn't stop me from having nothing but contempt for the way Clark as treated us.7 points

From the same draft as Watts. 7th year in 2014. Watts has done so much more than Blease and yet some have more patience for Blease.6 points

In Australia you are considered to have issues if you have different beliefs to the herd, sorry, most other people. One of the most commonly identified issues is Political Correctness syndrome. It's a strange syndrome as it a label put on people with minority views by people with majority views who think they are in fact part of an harassed minority being cowed by the PC majority. Strange.6 points

Part of the anguish of the Sloane family in Rory not being picked up by the demons lay in the fact that Sam blease was chosen at number 17. This confounded all at eastern ranges. No love Iost in the Sloane household. But again Barry prendergast you lying tool.5 points

Well I don't think the Crows would be sacking their coach like this with 2 years left on his contract unless there's a Ross-Lyon-to-Freo type plan in place. Surely they already know what they're doing? Or alternatively, they're the 2013 Brisbane Lions... Mind you, as bad as this might look, Justin Leppitsch was probably the lowest profile assistant available, looked a pretty lacklustre appointment at the time... and has done wonders for the Lions. Good recruiting has helped, but I think he's been better than most would have imagined.5 points

Sanderson sacked. Melbourne lose Goodwin and Dangerfield at the final hour #demonlyf Seriously who saw this coming? Wow. As someone else said, get the popcorn!5 points

Has Lumumba really got issues??? Or does he just have different beliefs to most other people? Just a thought.....5 points

Thinking about it, I think Crows must be in talks with a few potentials. If Goodwin was interested and they were interested, surely he wouldn't have met and presented to the board two days ago or yesterday if he had intentions of going to the Crows. You meet with the board with the intention of signing on. It seems weird. Unless the Crows have no plans. Weird. This happened to us when they sacked Voss and I was so sure we lost Roos.4 points

This has got to be about either getting Goodwin before us or trying to mitigate the loss of players - Tex and/or Danger. Huge stuff.4 points

I have a photo of myself and Jimmy at a Reach function some years ago that I cherish. I am going to go to the G on Sunday and have another photo taken with the great man. A true hero .... Missed so much.4 points

If they are so keen on McCartin then why would we bother? Just take Petracca at 2 and keep Pick 21.4 points

I couldn't understand the number thing that Schwab seemed to have. The big fuss with Mitch and Jimmy, I mean he only met him for a minute and then bang goes the number and the backstory that went with it. All total spin. Scully 31, then Grimes 31. I hope they retire 31 & 11 for a while then maybe sneak the numbers back in when no one is looking.4 points

I have no doubt about our capacity to pay. My question really concerns our capacity to attract. Then again, if anyone can do it, Roos can.4 points

Heritier Lumumba set to leave Collingwood, while Melbourne forward Mitch Clark eyes Magpies Article says Clark is close to naming Collingwood as his preferred destination while a straight swap for Lumumba is unlikely. First of all I don't care what anyone says on this comment. Mitch Clark you are an absolute snake and a Fwit of the highest order. We looked after you when you got injured and became depressed. You have not once repaid the faith and effort this football club has put into you. You want to jump ship to another club for success because the going gets tough for you?! pfft weak act! You will be lucky to get on the field. Karma will bite you right in the ass.4 points

Did I hear someone say Brock McLean left the club because of its poor culture? Is that the bloke who was arrested twice on drink related charges while overseas, who did wheelies on the Trinity car park damaging its asphalt cover, who attended funerals of gangland killers and who jumped ship to a club that tanked three years in a row and told three incredulous interviewers on a football panel show what the blind miner couldn't see? Had nothing to do with the fact that Carlton offered him lots more money and were prepared to give away a first round draft pick to make it happen, did it?4 points

Confirmed by Gerard Whately.. amazing.. apparently Dangerfield has walked from the club too. Massive massive news!3 points

Bit of chat about my mate Toby Green. Depending on what happens at court on his birthday later this month, he is a chance to return home. He is a bit mischievous at times but an accumulator of the ball and has a massive tank. Heard that we are über active with Adelaide and the Danger Danger trade is not that out there considering what we are offering. As previously posted Clark for Lamumba plus some change likely to happen but for AFL assistance if he was to walk. Yet to decide what that is until commission meeting on the 22nd this month. That's when we will find out about priority pick also. Same with attempting to swap picks 2 and 4 around with GWS with a player (watts) for possibly a sheil/treloar. They are in love with Petracca but we would want guarantee we would still get Brawshaw. St kilda taking Petracca would throw a spanner in our works. Roos taking off to Hawaii mid trade week so expect the dees to be busy early. Sam Frost likely done deal for a shuffle of picks. The blease, tapscott, Strauss currency will be speculative as they were 1st rounders and like Kane Lucas, may find a traded home. Expect not much more than an old pair of boots like we got for Cale Morton. Brisbane are all over Peter Wright at pick 3 so don't be surprised if they come to play come trade week. Midfielder and a pick not out of the question for pick 3. Love the statue of big Jim today. It is great to be a demon!3 points

Considering Dangerfield has never won a B&F and has only come 2nd once, I can't help but feel that people are overrating him as a potential saviour. Sure, his best games are elite, but he has a lot of average games as well. I'd much rather end up with two decent young midfielders through trades or the draft, than throw the farm at a single player.3 points

If someone asked me what Jones cost - I would want quite a bit... The thing that the club has to remember is that Dangerfield is FA after his next contract. If he is convinced that he will go home, and Adelaide knows it - they should trade him now. They will get Pick 12ish for him next year. If they were to get a Top 3 pick and another good player (Toumpas, Trengove, et al) that is a good deal. In fact, Pick 3 for Danger Mouse is a good deal for Adelaide.3 points

In practical terms we should try and get as much as we can for Clark because ... 1) We possibly don't want him ourselves anyway 2) We need to bring as much talent into the club as possible 3) There's a chance we can get Lumumba in a straight swap 4) We're playing with house money anyway (a month ago most of us thought Clark was finished) I can understand those that might want to let him take his chances in the PSD but how does that help us apart from standing on principle? If things are viewed in a clinical way without any emotion, then we'd be crazy not to try and get something for him. Besides all that, we've already had a win with the saved salary we would have had to have payed him this year & next year. Not paying him his full salary this year has almost certainly contributed to the club projecting a small profit this year. We're still in the black. The freed up salary cap room for next year allows us to bring in an established good player in a trade (possibly apart from Lumumba - if we get him of course ... Clark was on reasonably big money)3 points

I don't want to be preachy and holier than thou ( because I have got a few skeletons in my closet) HOWEVER ( don't you just love a however) Both Scully and Mitch were given numbers of significance. At the MFC if you get given number 10 or 12, or number 30 or 32 - they are just another number. But to be given 11 or 31 does mean something to the club, its history and its supporters. Both Scully and Mitch have shamed these numbers and the club that put faith in these players to do these numbers proud.3 points

All the trade stuff would be pretty much worked out prior, if not they make a phone call. No biggie.3 points

Unlikely to get a PP but this article puts up a strong case. http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-premiership/the-buzz-afl-says-unlikely-melbourne-will-get-priority-pick-but-its-rules-suggest-otherwise/story-e6frf3e3-1227060650594?from=public_rss&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed&nk=68977953102550160ae4e602041c30813 points

Danger has expressed (maybe not publically) a desire to return to Melbourne (city) for the 2nd half of his career.... much like Judd. He has publically and openly refused to entertain an extension to his current contract. He is at least entertaining MFCs approaches, which is now a MFC offer. No doubt he is also entertaining other clubs offers. He is highly likely to leave Adelaide .3 points

All the best mate. I am not sure Demonland or the Dees would be helping. Hopefully we are all better soon.3 points
