BUMP!!!! Hey beautiful people it's back. Round 1 I am asking all of you to relax. Why? Surely not. Yes you can. Relax we've got this. Melbourne Vs The mighty Port Adelaide. Port Adelaide! Fair dinkum I will eat a hat if we lose but we won't which is why I and you can relax. We have had a second proper pre season. Not one of Bailey's "Just run around the oval a couple of times if your up to it" Pre seasons. We have had Neeld,Mission and Craig's version which is " RUN YA BLOODY MAGGOT UNTIL YOU PUKE THEN EAT THE PUKE THEN SPEW IT UP ON THAT SCULLY PHOTO THEN RUN SOME MORE!" The dead wood was cut away thanks to Neeld's trusty axe. So it's us against them. What have they got? They have Boak. Yep he is good no doubt. That's enough in depth analysis of them. We got ourselves a 18 year old son of a titan who would run through a tank and throw it through the AFL HQ before you could blink. We got ourselves some premiership players and a break dancer who will all play and dance around Port with ease. Toumpass will be horrified at how easy we make it for him and how bad a team Port are. No TV presenter can save them from the spanking they are going to receive. They better bring that stupid tarp so they can shield their supporters (do they have any?) eyes from the ass whooping. If this sounds like pure garbage with no substance then I give you my evidence. Remember playing junior footy and most teams had that kid who was chubby and couldn't get a kick and would be plonked in the back pocket all day? Sometimes our boy Sellar reminded me of that kid. He improved down back last year but up forward he was a horror at times. Well he kicked 5 on their best defender in the pre season. 5 goals to Sellar! Ha! They have no chance. Yes Mitch is half fit but he is a cybernetic organism with living tissue over a metal endoskeleton. They will be terminated. GO DEE'S and Relax We've Got This!10 points

Please everyone get down there and scream your lungs out, no bloody excuses. I don't care if it's a bit cold or you are too tight to pay for a train ticket and a meat pie. I don't care if you are worried we will lose. I don't care if the missus is up in your grill about doing some other meaningless crap. It has been a rough 6 seasons on the trot, but who knows, we could be turning a corner. What we expect from them is 110% so we have to give it also. The side needs to know there are people out there backing them, and that their efforts are appreciated. Oh and if you haven't signed up do that right effing now.8 points

Went down for a brief period today, I was there for about 30 minutes towards the end. They finished as I was walking over the Yarra bridge. I will be surprised if T Mac does not play on Sunday. He was in everything till I left and looked good. Dawes did not seemed to be troubled by any injury. Trengove and Clark we off by the time I got there. I doubt Trengove will play on that basis. It Watts is not the best kick in our team I will eat my hat. Every kick I saw went straight to someone. It did not matter if it was short , long or for a player to run on to. If only about ten others were that good.4 points

I'd put that down to Clark and Trengove coming off a game, while Dawes and McDonald need time on the park - especially if they're to prove their fitness.4 points

Nicholson just doing laps as well. Kent and mckenzie back to the rooms. Jordie might be acting as his lawyer at the tribunal tonight. We've gone into a full ground drill now. It's a bit windy. Rohan bail hit sellar lace out. There's a really cute trainer. If she's on demonland and reads this later she should pm me.4 points

Wow, 5 lines of "live" training updates and you've had a shot at 3 different people. I await the rest of your training report with anticipation.4 points

Also comes down to improved fitness and durance, which results in less fatigue. Kicks lack penetration and direction if you are physically tired, which also equates to poor decision making when fatigue kicks in3 points

All this "punchable in the head" stuff I find a little bit distasteful...is it possible that we can have an option to "burn at the stake"?2 points

Like you I've had personal events over the last 12 months that have knocked me for six and it's forced me to re-prioratise my life, consequentially I've lost a lot of interest in football and whilst once I would have read every thing I could about the club I now read less than 50%. I still support the club and still love the club but I have to do other things now and won't be at every game anymore, but I don't think Don McLardy is referring to me when he talks about fickle supporters, or you for that matter. I was flat as a tack before I went to the commencement dinner and that did spark me up a bit but my enthusiasm is way down and I guess it's because other things are more important to me at the moment as they are for you. Both of us will get the spark back and a few wins will ensure that.2 points

Thanks mate. It's my one good post a year. The rest of the time I generally dribble out rubbish.2 points

James sellar practicing some Ruck work late. Might be an indication they leave pedersen out and go with sellar and whatever combo of Dawes and clark2 points

Tom couch has finished up, maybe he has to work like all the other VFL players. Pickles, toumpas and Barry practicing getting ground balls under pressure. The others have split into positional groups. Dawes is moving well. The players doing a nice job of testing out his hammy. And now he's headed to the side line but seems ok. Our clearance midfielders seem happy with just bombing it. I'd say if they've got clear possession then a sequence of handballs and an accurate kick would be better but then again they have no other players. This drill might have been more about combining with the rucks2 points

Saw a tweet I liked from someone going by the handle of "Lion Turf" (a Demonlander?): Mark Neeld's full speech @ MFC Commencement Dinner should have been: "I think the time for talk is over." And then leave the stage.2 points

I could be off the money, but Dawes looks ready for Sunday. Tom McDonald looks in good shape too.2 points

Gee Old Dee, you really do like to rain on every parade don't you, as WC Fields said, "the reports of my death are exaggerated" same with MFC2 points

AD seemed quite clear in relation to Melbourne what I got from it is; 1. Tanking is not punishible by the AFL rules 2. There was not enough evidence to charge MFC within the rule of the AFL 3. CC and DB both pleaded guilty and where punished for what they confessed 4. MFC was punished for employing these men. FWIW MS was confounded so much that he forgot how to ask a question, GH was getting upset because the above 4 points did not meet with his innate sense of justice in that MFC did bad and they must be punished. But as AD has said the AFL could not prove that MFC breached it rules. You can't find a club guilty of something that is not an offence no matter how you try.2 points

Many thanks for the updates WJ And Robbie, after moving to the Capital 18 months ago I find myself a little out of the loop now, it is good to hear and read things that are kept out of mainstream media. As for Don's fickle supporter comments, I find it a little off putting, knowing that I have deliberately not renewed my membership this year - this is purely a financial decision, my first born is now 5 weeks old, I'm in the middle of renovating the house and the good wife is not working for another 6 months minimum. Unfortunately for the MFC my lifelong support is not going to be financial this particular year, as my financial priorities lie elsewhere at this particular moment. I already have a pang of guilt about it and will no doubt return to financial status next year, however should I be made to feel more guilty by the President saying he doesn't want fickle supporters? I am sure that a fair chunk of people struggle to put the money into memberships and it is not necessarily about not caring about the club2 points

Carlton : is there a more corrupt organization within the Western World? For them to go free for the 2007 Kruezer Cup just galvinizes my absolute disdain & Anger. I refuse to eat in Carlton. The Filth : History dictates that i do. Most happy to comply. Essendrug :2000. Surviving Windy Hill. Essendrug have an arrogance all their own. Hate & Loath Adelaide : They represent South Australia. Enough said Meth Coast : Do what they want & get away with it. Benny's Doco is enough! Ninthmond : In the 70's they were Tattoos and no teeth, and they won every saturday night on the replay. Nightmares. The Shockers : theme Song. The worst durge. Port Adelaide : Who? Should never have been admitted to the AFL. Simply not big enough. Will always be on the Dole. Thanks Wayne Jackson. Whorethorn : self explanatory. No other side has beaten us up since 1971 like these hideous bastards The Swannettes : Dunkley & Barry Hall GF Appearances. Totally AFL contrived Footscray : 1954..how dare they. Could have been 7 in a row!! Nought Melbourne : there is room for only one Melbourne in Melbourne The Aints : My brother defected, i still ask him why. The Handbags : One Town One Stadium. Yes i am jealous Brisbane Bears : Feeding off the dead carcus of Fitzroy amid laughter. I remember the handover press conference GW$ : A Tax dodge GC $un$ : irrelevent & totally unnecessary I Hate all of the MFC opponents for the above reasons. Nothing will change.2 points

I hope they don't mind me doing a little advertising on their behalf, but for any Sydney supporters, I had an email today from the nswdemons informing of an evening with Don McLardy; details of which are: Friday 5th April, from 5pm at the King St Brewhouse, 22 The Promenade, King St Wharf (Darling Harbour) Rsvp's can be sent to [email protected]1 point

I think Carlton will get their wish anyhow, to move the majority of their games to the 'G'. & if we allow this to happen we will slowly lose our lose grip on the area, homeless as we are. We have slipped to nothing more than another Tenant @ the 'G'... playing 2 games in Darwin, I don't see as a problem, but if all the power clubs play the majority of games at the 'G', the current bunch of lesser clubs will be consigned to the less popular grounds, which in turn is an anchor around their necks. with the giants & suns joining port & freo, the boutique grounds will happen. Just as long as Prices park does not. this will finish the Dogs & Roos if they refurbish it. It isn't even near to a railway station for peoples easy access. I would much prefer to see the West get a boutique stadium, shared by Dogs & Roos, & the Punt Rd ground could be used by others when the interstate teams come thru. The KEY to it IMO is having the trains nearby.1 point

Wow, those stats are pretty surprising! The one most important is obviously the fact Nic Nat is about a year ahead of Jack in age and games played. So if we compare Jack at the end of this year to Nic Nat at the end of last, that will be a fairer comparison...1 point

Pre-season is done now for the real stuff, no much how we try to positive spin our pre-season matches showed much of the same, we switched off for periods that saw our opponents smash us on the scoreboard. The main issuews facing the selection team this week is how many underdone players do we take into round 1 and are some of these players better underdone than other options. To me we need to line up Jetta Frawley Terlich Watts Garland Dunn Toumpas Sylvia Rodan Howe Clark Davey Byrnes Dawes Sellar Jamar Jones Grimes Nicholson Viney McKenzie Blease M Jones Gillies Magner My team is based around run, Dunn Telrich and Watts can play the third tall defender if needed, Davey, Byrnes, Rodan and Blease add that speed. To me if Clark and Dawes are fit we need to play them, no point playing them at Casey they will just get frustrated. Besides Trengove and McDonald to me this is our best time 22 we can field.1 point

I took note of a comment that Leigh Matthews had in regards to Michael Hurley, he mentioned that Hurleys best position on the ground would be at CHF and that Hurley was too aggressive to play CHB, Matthews continued to say that CHB players need to be poised, calm and more relaxed than Hurley is. Matthews description was exactly Jack Watts. So, hopefully now that Watts has found his position, he can show his wares.. I think Nick Nat will be injured a lot throughout his career.1 point

That's a fair summary bush. It sticks in my craw that Collingwood have been able to maintain their identity as a powerhouse club, while we have struggled to re-establish ourselves for the best part of 50 years. I'm envious of that, and it adds to my dislike for Collingwood ahead of all others.1 point

A player who is developed at one club and returns to his home to be a star at another club is not a plus for the first club. Does anyone think that having NN at the club over the last few years would have made much of a difference? Sounds like NN would have been back in WA by now whereas we still have JW. Therefore unless JW was a complete dud (which he clearly is not) choosing JW was a win. Why argue about it.1 point
