My daughters Jumper, what number should she have?

HI guys,

after a couple of weeks of pretty hard times, i would like to ask for all you beautiful melbourne people to help me decide what Number i should get for My daughter on her new jumper? Without being to self indulgent, She is 17 months old and is the apple of my eye, and she is and will be a Melbourne girl for life. This week against Geelong is the game that will decide who becomes her favourite demon. The players dont realise it, but what happens on Sunday at Geelong will result in one player securing their biggest fan for life.

I want it to be someone who hurts for their club, who shows courage and passion, and who shows strength in times of adversity..

I am asking for the people of Demonland to help decide..It's Demon Idol..vote for who you think is worthy of having their number on my daughters jumper for the next 10 years!

13... in anticiaption of next year when the old YZE man passes it on to Valenti

If we are lacking pace, Valenti will struggle.

2 and 10 for mine.

I still think Grimes would be a good bet!

let the girl grow up to pick her own..as she will always make a 'different' selection to you !! lol.. Girls do that !!

Or 4, everyone loves Ben Holland.

Somehow I don't think Dutchy will be around for another 10 years!

Holland is my 5 year old son's favourite player and there is nothing I can do to change his mind. I cringe when people ask him and had to quickly retreat when he asked in a very loud voice at the quarter time huddle of the Zebra practice game at Casey "Why is Holland playing for the Zebras Daddy?"

As for my choice, I would go for 6 (Bate) or 14 (Dunn). I still have high hopes for these two.

You cant go past no 3. Think of the history and champions that have worn (and is wearing now) - Henry Coles, Gerard Healy, Garry Lyon, Clint Bizzell and now the boy with the million dollar smile, Clint Bartram.

He should be though.

Not playing him is the reason we've been smashed in the first two weeks!

Big Ben

Actually if I was placing a number on a young kids back right now I'd go with number 1. Hopefully he breaks the curse on that number.

He'll come good :)

That's nothing!

In my younger years, I decided that Michael Clark was my favourite player (and you thought Dutchy was bad!)... that was until I saw him at a function with both arms in a cast. When I asked him how he did it, his answer was "on the toilet". Still to this day it is one of the most disturbing player memories I have.

2, 6 and 27 for me..........always found it hard to pick a favourite player.

45 is my number of choice at the moment but when we are talking 10 years down the track i have to be realistic.

6 or 2. but really i want to say 4.

bring back benny.

31

31 would be another option not because of Wheatly though was Barassi's number! Other reasons for 31

3 (Bartram) and 1(Buckley) = 31

3 (Bartram) x 10 (Morton) + 1 (Buckley) = 31

13 (Yze) reversed = 31 (Yze needs to turn it around)

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
