  1. cool leucopogon, we'll call the club tomorrow and see if they can mail them to you instead. want to direct message your address to me?
  2. We've got two tickets for the West Coast game, sitting in the Melbourne section. We've had to cancel our trip to Perth, so if you want these they're yours. A nice bottle of wine would be great in return. They're getting posted to us next week, so probably the best approach will be if we try to get the club to mail them to you instead. Leave a message here if you're interested.
  3. This article from The Conversation, by Bruce Hearn Mackinnon (who wrote Liam's biography) is pretty awesome. Very insightful and written by someone who actually knows the guy, which helps.
  4. And the winner is.... Demon Dave. Thanks everyone else for playing. And Little Goffy: yep, I was tempted.
  5. It's not because I've been made a great offer by GWS: I just have to move to a smaller house and it's time for all this stuff to go. I've got about a dozen stubbie holders, a couple of bar mats, some scarves, some flags and a mirror. Yours for free if you can pick them up - I'm in the inner western suburbs of Melbourne. Reply to this topic and we'll sort out details. A picture of some of the haul is attached.
  6. ive got half a dozen scarves all sewn together with a head hole left in the middle, poncho style, great for cooler night games.
  7. is this that show on chanel 31 you are talking about?
  8. anyone who's been to Marrara before have any advice on the pros and cons of general admission vs grandstand?
  9. A word or two from Shakespeare. Surely he was really talking about Kardinia Park when he wrote this, not the Battle of Agincourt... If we are mark'd to die, we are enow To do our country loss; and if to live, The fewer men, the greater share of honour. ...O, do not wish one more! Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host, That he which hath no stomach to this fight, Let him depart; his passport shall be made, And crowns for convoy put into his purse; We would not die in that man's company That fears his fellowship to die with us. This day is call'd the feast of Crispian. He that outlives this day, and comes safe home, Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd, And rouse him at the name of Crispian. He that shall live this day, and see old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian.' Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars, And say 'These wounds I had on Crispian's day.' Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember, with advantages, What feats he did that day... We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in England now-a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
  10. In the standing room at Kardi Park. I'm frankly terrified.
  11. I'd love to see Bate play this week. It'd make me look slightly less ridiculous wearing my Matthew Bate badge on my pashmina (but only slightly).
  12. 6 or 2. but really i want to say 4. bring back benny.
