Yes but also no

Our 2026 best players are our veterans - Gawn, Salem, Langdon standing out

Our kids are promising, but a lot of work to do

Our ‘most talented players’ are kids, and kids go missing

The loser will be a bottom 4 club for sure. Lock it in Eddy. Despite CJ being quick, I don't think he is going to be up to AFL standard as a defender. We are now looking like swiss cheese

full of holes.

For a growing number of you; when Jiath is finally dropped as the whipping boy of the loudest nuffies - who will be to blame for the next 8 goal qtr?

We. Are. A. Bad. Team.

Our best players are kids. We don’t have enough proven talent. Deal with it.

Jiath had a clanger or two but aside fr9m that he was decent

If we are to win only one more game this season it needs to be this one. Sick to death of losing to these [censored]. Last our last four going all the way back to the Petracca non-goal in 2023. Ashton Moir turning into prime Jason Akermanis last time round was the final straw. Just beat them please.

Not really sure about changes. McDonald for Turner is an obvious one if needed. AMW will make us better at some point but I am not sure it's now. Maybe a swap for Lindsay just so high standards are being set. Despite an an atrocious game last night, I'd be inclined to give Trelle one more week. Can't think of anyone in the 2s who could replace him anyway. No to Max Heath, let Max do his thing.

In. McDonald, AMW

Out. Turner, Lindsay

TMac in for Turner.

AMW, although short of a gallop, in for Latrelle who needs 1 year minimum at Casey. I know it is a forward for a backman, but we can shuffle players to accommodate. Try Lindsay at half forward maybe.

Tholstrup to Sam Walsh.

So we're coming off a trip from Perth in 31 degree heat, yes we have an 8 day break playing a team that will be coming off an 18 day break🙄

I'd prefer to be coming off an 8 day break than an 18 day break after 2 games

The overreaction on here is crazy

Last week Latrelle and Culley are champs

This week they should be dropped

The answer is somewhere in-between

Out lat picket. Swallow

In Wakefield mcdonald

It’s Sparrow, Swallow played for Gold Coast and has retired🙂

Turner out, AMW in

Lindsay wing, Langford Forward, AMW down back.

Go smaller this week against a smaller blues side

Afl are not running a competition rather a ratings comp with integrity out the window, consider hawks have 2 byes before we get our first

Interesting.

A New coach wants/ needs the players to buy in,to believe to understand this requires resilience, patience and perseverance.

Thats what is asked of the coach and fd.

Now... you can't really expect players to buy in if the fd doesn't.. yes/no ?

Only changes this week will be forced changes.

Tmac for Disco.

I expect the rest to remain pretty much the same.

A lot of you lot are worry wart panic merchants.

This year is about growing... not a flag.

Carlton fans have infiltrated us..

AMW 30 disposals at 90% is a lock. TMac for Turner and Heath for someone, not sure who.

This makes no sense you want Heath in why?

At least give some reason eg: back up Gawn

Carlton are vulnerable to pressure and teams who are prepared to run hard.

Tmac for Turner if he’s out is one change, unless we’re bringing AMW in for ball movement from the back half can’t see many more

7 clubs have 2 byes before we have ours. We are the last club to get a bye.

Nailed it, this is very much going to be a season like 2010, kids coming through showing real promise and then having games where their youth and ability to put together 4-5 strong back to back games is tested.

Although I’m confident both the club and spread of talent and age demographic across our list is better then it was at the end of 2010

Alright I’ll spell it out. We do need run and good quality disposal from our backline. Lindsay isn’t showing much as a defender. Max is tired and Heath dominated the ruck at Casey. Can’t see what I said was so implausible.

Would take a win over the Pies tbh, Carlton are an irrelevant club

Sparrow is a King favourite.

AMW is there to stop people from kicking goals, not get a ‘dope 30’…

Culley is playing a role, also for that matter is the energetic kid in 33 who is in the team for what he does without the ball.

Let’s go beat Carlton, yeah?

Yeah but he only had 8 pressure acts, 7th lowest in our side. 0 tackles, 0 score involvements. Not much defence, not much offence.

He also looks 2-4 steps off the pace.

Yes, he brings excitement, but it's also pretty apparent that the step up from the level he was playing at last year to AFL level is significant for him, and having had a taste, it might be best to get him back to Casey and get him finding some confidence on either offence or defence before he's back.

Moose MUST play, along with AMW, TMac and depending on fitness Melksham

McDonald will come in.

I think Moose should come in to give the tired Gawn a chop out. Sparrow is the one I'm looking at to replace. He hasn't had a kick since 2021. It shows just how bad we have become to allow a player to continually get games when he hasn't had a kick for 4 years. Moniz another week at VFL level for me isn't ready yet. Jiath deserves another chance or 2.

Latrelle was great against St.Kilda now people want him dropped must keep for mine along with Culley.

That's my doubts with Trelly.

Kozzie's first season he went weeks barely touching the ball and was often a little timid at the contest, but his pressure was undeniable.

Trelly has a different build, is a different athlete who seems best suited to longer sprints and slippery agility than Kozzie style ballistic change of direction.

Langdon and Harry Sharp are providing some version of that kind of high half forward player. For team balance we might be better off with Paddy Cross or if he's ready Tom Matthews who both have more crash and bash and lay tackle kind of games.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
