Jackson is about ready to step up to AA contention. Scary, not just as a ruck/forward, but also as a mid. Will be a handful.

Not so fussed about the others.

I am in Melbourne tonight and where oh where best spot for us Deeees to watch the game please?

At least I get to watch this game with my breakfast coffee.

Hoping to see more of the same style of play with commitment to the game plan no matter what the score.

Oops, wrong button.

Dees to sneak home by a goal.

Go Dees!

Great win last week, another win this week would be fantastic!

An improvement on last week, as in cleaner with the ball, after typical 1st round performance, this week will be tough.

A few of the team a bit down last week a lift from those players! Sparrow, Langford are two that immediately come to mind!

Just keep playing same style with covering centre corridor better!

Go Demons play well!

loved our swashbuckling style last week but i have a certain trepidation about this one.

Freo should contend this year, they have bags of talent. If they get a hold of us in the middle we could be looking at a 50 point loss.

I want to see us stick to the plan, move the ball with purpose and deliver proper service to our forwards. If we do that i'll be happy

and I'm hoping Judd McVee has a shocker. He's a proper judas that guy. He's one ex-dee i'll never cheer for.

I still can't believe Omac is in the side (Ryan is either out of favor or still needs to build fitness). David King said after our 2018 prelim "Oscar McDonald is not the guy". He was right. In 2026, now 8 years later and now 30yo, King showed vision of him continuously being beaten by Neale and he also said he's "Not the guy".

I hope he continues to show he's "not the guy" and JvR kicks 7 on him.

Freo's defence is now their biggest weakness. If King has a plan for Pearce I think we can get a hold of them.

Edited by At the break of Gawn

It is a great test. Freo are a good side, with potential this year to be a great side.

Hoping for a very competitive outing where our gameplan is on show. JVR to continue his rise and I want to see Langford and Lindsay as well as Windsor play well.

Freo looked susceptible to quick ball movement in the second half last week so if we can get the ball on the outside we are a chance of causing some damage.

A win tonight, which I just canโ€™t see happening, would stamp our improvement under King.

Indeed, I cannot watch our game. But can surf some channels and listen on the wireless

Hopefully it's a better r2 performance than last years r2 where I sat at marvel & watched us get thrashed by nth.

Excited for this game. I think it's a tough ask beating the WA teams over there when they are in form and they probably deserve to be favourites, but I'm not writing us off.

If we do loose, so long as we're compeditive and show something, then that will be OK enough with me.

Mostly I'm looking forward to us playing some good opposition to get a better feel for where we are at right now.

There may be a sprinkling of Dees at the London Tavern in Richmond.

This match will give us a good indication of where we are at.

The betting odds and most of the pundits have completely written us off, but I beg to differ. Play with last weekโ€™s grit and flare, and tighten up our defence a smidge, and we might just be singing the Grand Old Flag on the plane back to Melbourne.

Dees by 7 points.

Yep. And not a bad spot for a beer.

Also if visiting Melbourne, good location given its near Fed square and Flinders Street

I donโ€™t think I could wish McVee well under any circumstance.

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demonsโ€™ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
