Harvey and Windsor were already mates. Their dad’s played footy together and are best mates. Bith families rapt when Harvey got drafted to the Dees to join Windsor.

Is there a phantom draft for tonight?

Can't see one but some info

I'm edging towards NHH. Seems like a classy player and seems to have a lot of football sense.

I love the idea of Ludowyke but it if we picked him it would seriously make me wonder what we're doing with Jefferson, another athletic key forward.

I think it's because Richmond forced other teams to bring forward their intended picks by matching bids? Is that correct?

The whole draft thing is a bit of daft numberwang

Niche numberwang reference sighted in the wild

The curious case of Ollie Greeves.

He has talent. No doubt. He wins the footy. He’s smart. He kicks it 50+ metres. He’s good handball options. Big bodied mid. Led the Ranges to the premiership. Was certainly considered to be a top 5 pick with his carnival and some big high possession/multiple goalkicking. He simply dominated some games.

But his dominance has led to queries about his defensive side. In the AFL midfield, you have to be able to win it or defend it. Greeves missed the draft combine. His pace is being seriously questioned? Fairly or not, his two way running is raised as a concern. His pace also with the footy was seen late in the year as lacking and likely to struggle to step up to AFL. Again fair or not, footballers can be footballers but need the athletic quotient to still be there.

Greeves might be the absolute steal of 2025 but who’s taking the punt?

Ludo didn't look much chop in the footage I saw, will be interesting to see which way we go

These are the same issues Swadling has going against him, he's more athletic than Greeves but doesn't have his contested inside assets

Hope we take Sam Allen or Riley Onley

This is the way

Or Kye Fincher if Saints don’t match

I was asked, " do you like Swadling?"

I replied " I don't know I've never Swadled"

Just as well - it ruins your eyesight

Based on what’s left I’d take Max Kondo and just stack a strength on a strength with medium defenders.

Build the wall back there and worry about the midfield next year.

If greeves, phillipou or Higgins-hargrave are available I’d have to imagine they’ll be too good to pass up.

I might be an outlier here, but I am hoping for Thredgold - high marking, attacking, mobile 194cm interceptor. We seem to have some decent existing and prospective mids, and if you take elders May and Tmac out of the defensive mix, I think we look a bit thin, plus Lever always has a question mark over his availability.

think its just an agreed thing that he's off to the roos first up tonight

We still need more mid types so you have to assume we go for the best available of that sort after not getting one with the first 2 picks

I'd grab Phillipou

Agreed

If Phillipou was available, he’s the one to get. Has midfield potential as well as goal smarts to hit the scoreboard. Certainly ended the season showing his talent after missing the carnival

However I do think the Bulldogs or Blues might grab him before us .
