Deathriding Gold Coast 2026 - Sponsored by OnTrac5

2025/2026 may not be all that memorable on field but the quality banter and content over the last few days has brought great joy in an otherwise pretty bleak period for the club.

Carry on Demonland.

Pfft. Three first rounders is a great deal.

Somehow I think you'd have said that if we got 6 first round picks.

Bring on the deathride. Its not unusual to see a team take a step back after their first finals appearance. Dees 2018, Freo last year.

I can definitely see a year where Suns finish 9th. They look strong offensively, but they are very vulnerable behind the ball so we will see how that stacks up.

Very real chance we have two top 10 picks next year and i can see us using these both to lure a big name to the club along with our 2027 First.

Gold Coast Suns receive:

Christian Petracca, two second-round picks (currently No.24 and 28) and a 2026 second-round pick (tied to Melbourne)

Melbourne receives:

two first-round pick (currently No.7 and 8), a second-round pick (currently No.37), a 2026 first-round pick (tied to Gold Coast) and a 2027 third-round pick (tied to Gold Coast)

You still here? You promised us you'd stop posting if Oliver was traded.

Are you not a man of your word?

DL needs pickett! He's great value. Perhaps PF can quarantine himself to a LIFERIDING Clayton Oliver Thread as a compromise? Go Giants!

Wishing the suns a very merry miss the 8 next year. I’m sure their 9 fans will be disappointed but I can live with that.

With trac butchering the footy for them there's no limit to how low they can go in 2026.

this lets hope he is bombing it into 50 .or resting forward with sub 40% accuracy.

the draw will be intersting they should get a tougher draw than last year but it's a fixture so who knows what the AFL will throw up.

Ever chance rnd 1 (or zero or 2 or opening round or whatever the hell it is)is melbourne v GC on the GC with a blockbuster 14K people there

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
