Im wondering ... did we ever really check in 🤔🤔🤔

In the last few years no, I think we just coasted on the 2021 Win

I had a dream last night. The bits that I remember most vividly are:

  • we came to play, and put in a 4 quarter effort;

  • we shut their crowd up from the get go;

  • and had them filing towards the exits at 3/4 time.

I also believe in miracles ❤️💙

Really hope we turn up tonight and have a crack. Love to wipe the smiles of a few pies fans faces.

Reckon Brayden will have a real go at Langdon tonight, I hope Viney, May, Melk and co are ready to support.

Pies really need this and reckon we are 80% checked out.

The club have given up looking at the selection this week, zero changes after last week's display

Maybe, just maybe, our new coach thinks our effort was OK and was pleased we fought the game out and didn't get blown away, kicking 7 of the last 8 goals against a team that was in red hot form and has a real shot at winning the flag.

By the by I love how posters are now criticising the 'club' for performance and selection decisions not the coach.

Let's do it - if not for ourselves then for humanity and world order by depriving Collingwood of a double chance and bragging rights.

Last kick of the day from a dodgy free kick, please.

Just remembered we're playing tonight. I guess I still have nine hours to forget again.

Well I’m gonna step out against the grain here and say we will be in this game up to our necks. I’m tipping a 6 point win. Ending our run of losing close games before 25 closes.

Here’s my reasons. A number of players may be playing for the last time or the last time as a dee and that might create a certain freedom and intensity. We’ve been super competitive ( yes without winning) in pretty much all games in 25 and despite what many posters say have changed how we play. Theres unfinished business with this side v the pies and the players know it…I think ( if I call 25 the last year of the goody era) they will want to end this “era” with a bang.

go dees ‼️

Well Greggy I like the thinking.

There may well exist a certain freedom for some tonight indeed.

Found myself in Edmonton in 82. Was treated to a , well, not so much a game, more a spectacle akin to the Colosseum of Ice complete with masked gladiators. I can see where Hill go his inspiration 😉

There's nothing quite like 'Hockey' ...

So instead, you duplicate it 🤣

Thank goodness (yet again) for the Demon Army. Yes, we’re well aware of the dire position our team’s in and we hate it just as much as every other fan, but ffs, we don’t wallow in misery and revel in defeatism like folks on here.

Some of you are seemingly willing a loss, and a huge loss at that. Maybe it’s a defence mechanism, idk; whatever it is, it’s draining and I don’t understand why anyone would engage in something that brings them down to such sad depths.

Anyways, Ima channel something Goody told me in the week leading up to our Brisbane win… “We go into every match knowing, not thinking, but knowing we can win. The scoreboard at the beginning of the match is 0.0.00 for both sides.”

*The mighty Dees by 7, 48, 91 or 0 (a draw).

GO YOU MIGHTY DEMONS!!!

GO OUT THERE TONIGHT AND

RAISE [censored] HELLLLL

❤️💙👊🏼❤️💙

*Sounds random but I stand to win $250 if any of these margins apply. 🤩

(We run a win/loss margin bingo as a fundraiser. You pay $10 to be given a random number and that number could be the winning margin) 🥳

Interested to see who Collingwood use as the sub. Frampton would be an unusual choice. Pendles would definitely be in the frame.

I'm not as doom and gloom on this one. Collingwood have been playing some very ordinary football and they've been worse offensively than us over the last 5 weeks and middle of the road defensively.

I think if we have a strong start we'll really worry them. The key is stopping the Daicos boys and then the whole team will fall over.

Great work again GW and thanks for all your training and other comments. Your passion and enthusiasm are fantastic.

I have attended a few more games than usual this year but cant do tonight. After enduring the smug attitudes of the hawk supporters last week I could not possibly face the pies supporters. They will outnumber us and will be unsufferable in victory or defeat. I congratulate any demon supporter who can stomach attending and wish them well. The only positive result I could see is that the dees come out a kick 10 goals a quarter and the pies scrape a few goals. the game is over at 3/4 time and the Pies supporters are on the train and gone by the final siren. Commentators spin that Collingwood were resting for the finals campaign and had no interest in playing at their best. they treated it as a captains run against a nothing opponent.

A win or a minor loss to knock them out of the double, a concussion to Maynard and a hammy to Daicos please.

Given that selection is done by a panel, not by the coach on their own (not that we have a full time senior coach yet) then, yep, the club as greater entity is responsible for the decision making.

And last week's effort was flattered highly by the last 3 goals in junk time.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
