Goodwin thinks you win games purely by the inside 50 count.
No goal kicking practice necessary.
Not unless ya Pess farting around doing trick kicks with the boys anyway.

Lost in first Qtr… Then doubled down on goal kicking. Was there ever a team so afraid of playing finals??????

I hate Zak Jones. The total opposite of his brother. A bog ordinary faux tough guy and a sook.

Has played a great game today

These games are the worst.

All talk about anything to do with gameplans is a waste of time when you can't kick at all

That was [censored] awful by Oliver.

That right there is why he is an absolute liability to this team

100 per cent and it's been the way since I've been following (late 80s).

We win a few games and think we're world beaters, have no idea how to win when playing as the hunted.

You knew in the first 5 minutes the mindset they turned up with today and it is an embarrassment to the club and a slap in the face of the supporters.

Hold your beer wait till next week...

This game can be summed up by Kozzies first lazy shot at goal.

Sums up our entire intensity.

Yep, that at the beginning of the game set what was to come...

What the [censored] is the main reason behind our [censored] goal kicking. Is it psychological? Are we not getting enough proper practice? Is it to do with the way we play?

I really want us to get to the bottom of this because it's just bizarre.

Same result as the GWS game when we kept missing, we need to get to playing out home games @ the G! Our objective is to win games not fly the flag for other reasons! Play preseason games but enough of giving up our home ground!

The saints are a big ordinary team who only beat teams who waltz in assuming they will win.

Can someone give us a rundown of our total goals and total pionts for the season?? Shizzen Goodwin this is down to coaches

Goodwin can't kick it for them, when Melksham, Turner and Lindsay (all this quarter alone) are missing sitters what do you want the coaches to do?

Pressure factor of 132, now that's another matter. Absolutely deplorable.

Wherever we finish this year the number one priority in the off season has to be finding quality forwards - big and small

Reckon on balance we have the worst group of forwards in the comp

1.10 for a half - Is that acceptable Simon??

We look tired.

And our midfield got spanked all day.

I think we lost our chance to play finals today and it's our kicking that did it.

Just like our two finals campaigns in straight sets. The story continues for three years.

Talk about inertia. No wonder it took us 56 years to win a flag.

Too slow to fix clear lingering issues.

Well said. Pressers from Goodwin rarely if ever mentions it. As if the kicking is not part of all the coaches’ responsibility. Know as the worst conversion team. Says a lot.

This is just embarrassing. Professional team my arzzz.

1.9 this half.

I fear next weeks margin

Sad thing is they will be ready for next week and win. Thy have been under prepared for the "easy" teams for year. Even in 21 we did it, only got away with it.

That is the most pathetic performance I’ve seen in years, absolutely deplorable

Absolutely woeful

As much as I’m not a fan of Goody, he can’t kick the goals can he!!!

This one is squarely on the playing group today.

Next week is going to be real ugly

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
