  • I’d play Balta v Dees. Sub him off at 3/4 time…or get him an apartment next to the ground and make sure he is tucked in bed by 10pm

    • imagine jacinta if we did this ?

  • Doubt there will be many changes apart from Ryan (injured) & Balta (curfew)

    • I don't think we'll ever see (curfew) next to a players name ever again lol

  • The key to the match will whether Richmond can apply enough pressure to Melbourne's midfield to pressure forward entries and to create turnovers. The more than likely that Melbourne will win the clearance battle.

  • Dees will be up for this one. Think we only win by 20-30

  • Trainor to start to get the job on Kosi Pickett

  • Cant send Sims in to ruck against Gawn

  • Can Nank get a hold of Max Gawn finally this week? I know Gawn was last week but Nankervis has had a better season. I feel like Nank run him into the ground be physical and get him this week.

  • The Dees are actually very small up front, with JVR their only key forward (and he's also second ruck). Probably means Trainor will come into the 22 for Balta.

    • Petty has killed us before and he played well last week. JVR got dropped, doubt he comes back given they won.

  • This is our bloody Grand Final for once.

  • Vlaustin will put Kozzy on the first flight over to WA.

Methinks dude momentarily forgot his team is Richmond.

Don't remind me about how the tiges are gonna win this one for bloody Balta please.

I thought it was a D/land post when i started reading it

I like reading what the other clubs supporters think and say about the next game It’s great other clubs have doubts as well.

Thanks for this and any others in The future

They seem like rather sensible and "normal human" type thinkings. I can't imagine a Collingwood fan page would read like that haha I don't usually mind Tigers supporters, yes they won lots of flags recently but in general I remember they had long stretches at the bottom too didn't they?

Looking forward to this game, should be interesting, will be good to see a few of the young recent top draft picks go head to head too.

In all honesty, I did too.

These threads can take a bit of time so really appreciate you starting them up again😁.

They are a rather unimaginative lot: No derision. No sniping. No faux arrogance. No humour. Not much for us to push back on!

They are no fun at all!🤷🏻‍♀️

In other words another sensible lot you could have a beer with? I’ve been to plenty of Richmond melb games via an MCC mate and the crowd always seemed ok (maybe coz we mostly lost). Compared to Collingwood games …:: (I’ll never go to one again ever, unless it’s a GF. Heard too many shocking stories from the 23 QF)

Too sensible for me!

At least the Pies version of this thread gives us plenty of ammo to fire back.

Some argy bargy is good but looks unlikely from Tiggy fans.

No fun at all.

btw, I tried to PM you some info but received a msg was you aren't accepting PM's

I had a quick look at 'The Punt Road End' forum. Similar tone to that in the o.p.

Found a couple with a bit of humour:

  • Petty coming into form w/out Van Rubber Band and Bailey Selfish playing. Who can stop him?

  • Dow kicked a goal - that'll guarantee him another 5 games at least.

  • I am not buying the Gray love....

    • Same, raw as sushi. No Dylan Grimes that’s for sure.

Not true, of course, but rather clever! 😄

Because of that experience, I wouldn't now go to any Collingwood game again (and won't get in to our GFs anyway). The mass behaviours were truly appalling and upsetting.

Don’t be mistaken, don’t be misled,
They toast their bread but not their head.
They scream out “ball!” with beer in hand,
Then start a brawl in Shame Warne's stand.

The filters on 'Land don't let me publish most of their trash.

Lukewarm Tigers banter. They are still admiring the three premiership cups from 2017,2019 & 2020 !

Wouldn't you

My only worry as a Tigers supporter would be Tasmania stuffing up the draft but if they go first pick this year and trade out another 28 year old for a low first they'll be set nicely for a rebound in 2-3 years

Only made finals twice (winning one final each time) between 1982-2013.

and, from memory, the two years they made finals matthew richardson - their talismanic tasmanian tall - was injured?

i remember matthew knights had an incredible final to get them over the line one year

Surely someone could have used the "50 shades of Gray" pun?

I'm sure we could do better. We're just too nice.

Bailey Fridge. He's gone cold.

Jacob van Ruined. Demon's forward system wrecked a good young player.

'50 shades lighter'.

Tom Lynch can be officially demoted to 'the other Tom Lynch'.

Hopper must surely be BTD: 'bulk trash disposal'.

We made the joint banner with them last night, so… can confirm 😅

Not sure Jacinta would be bothered, but it would be funny if they had to use the sub before 3/4 time and were left one short due to the ankle bracelet going off.

I hope the Demon Army wrote the text. We don't want the teams running a banner that reads:

'Lets wee for Jett'

Collingwood supporters are worse because they have an airy confidence and it's hard to talk back to them. Richmond supporters though are generally a few more notches down the IQ radar.

They made the Prelim in 95. I was there that day at Waverly. Miserable day. Geelong pumped them. But Richmond supporters were singing the song in the final minutes because they'd had such a great year. It gave me goosebumps. Funnily enough one of the most vivid football memories I have. Tigers supporters outnumbered Cats about 10 to 1 that day.

Keen for an update on this thread.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.
