Spargo and Sharp both have to be dropped. They are both absolutely useless right now. Both need to go find some VFL form. I doubt Lindsay will be fit so we'll have to find two replacements and I don't want Billings to be one of them. Laurie maybe, but IMO he's in the same basket as Sharp, Spargo and Billings.

Sharp, Spargo and Henderson just aren’t at the level. It reminds me of the days we had Jimmy Magner and Dean Terlich running around.

And none of Fritsch, JVR and Petty are at AFL standard right now and Viney can’t hit the side of a barn.

The problem is we don’t have the reinforcements. AJ isn’t going to be the answer and next cabs off the midfield ranks are Laurie (worth a shot) and Billings.

We need young guys like Jefferson, Langford and Lindsay to step up really quickly but that’s a big ask when everyone around them is struggling.

The list is such a problem.

No one is really falling over themselves to pick Spargo, Sharp, Woewodin, Billings and Laurie. That's five players who are too "samey", none of whom appear to be capable. I'd keep Henderson out of that group for now, given he can run, has a bit of pace, and can kick, but the point remains - swapping Sharp/Spargo for Woewodin/Laurie doesn't really have much appeal.

Hendo can play. Had a few moments of class on the weekend, I'd be keeping him in.

Agreed. Let’s not forget he only got a spot a few weeks before the season started, he’s trying to play afl level footy without even doing a full pre season with the side. He’s 100% worth persisting with in the small forward role.

We've played 30 players already this year.

After today WCE will have 32 (3 first for the season today due to injuries). St Kilda have played 29, Freo 28 and everyone else is between 24-27.

We've played 5 debutants plus Sharp.

I'm not sure there has been many other options when it comes to cattle to put on the park.

He's played defence initially, gone forward and gone back again. And he's been one of our better performers this year so far

Petty, Spargo and Sharp were annoyingly poor so all three need a taste of Casey until they show that they are trustworthy. Depending on who is fit I would hope for :-

Fullarton CHF needs to be rewarded and we need JvR out of the ruck

Brown in for Spargo he runs hard and tackles with intent (10 tackles)

Seriously consider Seston and Verall

If any of Lindsay, McVee or Tholstrup were available I would have them back in as well.

It’s a little hard to judge Spargo after one quarter, he didn’t really do anything, but then most of the team ghosted that 4th quarter

Why does Simon Goodwin persist in continually picking Harrison Petty in the first team, when he is clearly and hopelessly out of form and out of sorts. Is the list depth so poor that this needs to keep happening. If so, his Bombers forward opponent will destroy him.

The next option is a debutant, Jed Adams.

Then Marty Hire is an undersized option but he is out with a calf inury. Lever would be in the team if he wasn't injured.

In Rounds 1 and 2, May was injured.

In Rounds 3 and 4, Lever has been injured.

Also in Round 1, Petty was one of our best.

He's been poor from Rounds 2-4, but there hasn't been a better option to bring in, with Hore injured and Adams not clearly ready.

The JVR Weideman comparisons are uncalled for.

Is McVee back this week? If he and Lever are back and we can demote Petty or TMac our defence will both be stronger and have more run.

No he’s still unavailable for what seems to be 2-3 weeks forever.

And Lever seems to perpetually have a sprained ankle. Goodwin didn’t seem confident he’ll be back next week.
