Smooth left footer also. They are known to kick to accuracy.

Love that we've added another leftie.

I spoke to an Eagles supporter last week and told him we had recruited Jai.

He said Jai was a bit of a cult figure at the club and was popular with team mates and fans..

Do we nickname him The Saviour?

No, just a naughty boy.

Without seeing any of our recruits live, Iโ€™m going to stick my neck out, and say that our recruiters have done an outstanding job this off season. ย Jai is just the latest of a great bunch! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

Your neck is safe Dof, for our recruiters have most definitely done a superb job ๐Ÿ™‚

Apart from his obvious talents on the field heโ€™s yet another hard-working, mature and dedicated player, and a lovely person, to boot.

On a personal note, thank goodness we got him because a couple of weeks ago I got him to sign my jumper ๐Ÿ˜… At the time he asked if I was sure I wanted him to do it and I said, โ€œDo you think Iโ€™m making a mistake or something?โ€ He smiled and said โ€œWell, I suppose I can just add my number when I get one.โ€

In stark contrast, after Jai had walked away, Chocco, being the smartarze that he is, said โ€œIs that in permanent marker?โ€ I said yes. He said, โ€œThen youโ€™re screwed.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜… Goody said โ€œDonโ€™t listen to him, youโ€™re not screwed.โ€ Turns out Goody was right!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAI โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™ย

ย

Feel bad forย AMWย ย and he was looking good, after a good end to last year.

No for Jai to take his chances. ย As for the AFL a sensible decision, but like others if a Carlton player was not injured, would they have made the same decision. ย I think it was helped that the SSP closedown on Friday. I read the AFL clubs bought it forward as a request, but maybe there will be an exception for major injuries during the preseason matches to top up. ย Would have been helpful for when Gus retired.ย

And what a great 22nd Birthday it is for Jai and his family I would imagine. Did the boys train today Ghostwriter or are they still recovering from Saturdayโ€™s heat?ย
pS( that was great that you caught up with Ricky Menthaโ€™s family including his Nan at Arden St, sound like a really lovely close family.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜

I think we should develop him as a specialist tagger and then he can have a list of players who have been Culled.ย

As others have said, were a CFC player not in the same predicament, would the AFL have made this concession? ย  I may be a cynic, but I doubt it.

WELCOME

No he wasnโ€™t.

He wouldโ€™ve rotated between the forward line and midfield, helping give our starting mids some respite. If that ainโ€™t depth, I donโ€™t know what is.

Funnily enough today is Jai Culley's Birthday on the 24th of February. ๐ŸŽ‚

That's a pretty amazing Birthday gift to be put onto an AFL list (albeit due to unfortunate circumstances).

I wish Jai Culley all the best at the Demons! ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ”ด๐Ÿ”ต

ย

What a range of emotions he must have gone through over the past week, firstly being overlooked when we selected Henderson to fill in for McAdam, then to get this oppertunity on his birthday.

What a whirlwind journey it has been for him especially over the past week.

I think this is a great replacement because it adds depth to our midfield tocks which i thought was a glaring need last year.

It's a good question Mono, I'm doubtful too, if it was just AMW it would not have been changed.

Perhaps it was the sheer impact of 2 ACLs, in 1 day, a day after the deadline, and discretion was used given how close it was to the deadline and that the matches were just match-sims.

It was a good call by the AFL to allow the leniency given the circumstances, bit of fortune given we weren't so fortunate when Gus was medically retired to get an immediate replacement.ย

Do we assume that if Jagga Smith hadn't done his knee as well this wouldn't have happened. Either way it's good news as he has been showing good signs over pre-season and deserves a chance.

Are you new here? ย MFCSS should be added to the catalogue of psychiatric diagnoses, as it is very real. ย And I know for sure that all the people and voices that call me paranoid are very real ๐Ÿคฏ

They didnโ€™t train today. Theyโ€™ll be at Goschโ€™s tomorrow for a recovery run at 1:30pm but thatโ€™s NOT confirmed so if anyoneโ€™s thinking of attending, best they ring the club beforehand ย

I can understand how theyโ€™d need a couple of days to get over Saturdayโ€™s heat. Iโ€™m only a spectator and Iโ€™m just starting to feel normal now, I donโ€™t know how they coped running around in direct (and biting) sunshine. ๐Ÿฅต

The problem with losing AMW was that he was also going to provide decent midfield depth.

No forward or half back not mid field . Some doubt his tank I think thatโ€™s not a real issue as we can generally control that if any effects are apparent in last quarters depending upon the situation. Thats AMW in any case so unfortunately itโ€™s problematical any way.ย

Nevertheless, welcome to Jai. With each brilliant season may you add another twist of the knife to the hearts of eagles.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old sideโ€”the Tigersโ€”coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking?ย I mean by โ€œtheyโ€ the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around.Itโ€™s no secret that the Demonsโ€™ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack.ย Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryanโ€™s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winningย 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
