He’s got 5 weeks to recover if it’s a standard hamstring

I admire your optimism.

Judging by the footage on channel 7 news he’s going to need every one of those 5 weeks if he’s any chance for round 1.

Unfortunately this forum is a microcosm of the broader community, albeit skewed male in terms of demographics.

What we see out there, we see in here- positive and negative.

And the sad reality is there are plenty of people who enjoy upsetting and winding up other people.

What are you insinuating ?  Is it with regards to the information that was rightly corrected ?

Geez looks like a significant hammy. Maybe with the time on the sidelines, Judd can sign a new contract. Got a feeling WA clubs will come hard for him

Dude, if you’ve been on this forum for awhile, which you have, you know full well that GW gets hassled by a few. You’d also know that it upsets her. So in the spirit of not being a complete fckutard you could show some restraint and make the place friendly rather than a room full of adolescents arguing what constitutes being carried compared to being helped. Rocket science it is not.

I think you’re right. I’m just hoping he didn’t pull it off completely

You missed the helicopter landing in the middle of the field Gw!

We already lost one of our better track watchers under similar circumstances, in Saty…let’s not see history repeat itself.

Definitely my favourite thing about today’s  session was Charles Spargo. It seems like a lifetime since we’ve seen him without shackles and today’s performance was a huge reminder of what we’ve been missing for 12 months. It was soooo good to see Charles doing Charles things.

There are a lot of players standing in line for his spot. Not sure he will get it back unless we have a lot of injuries.

This is exactly like the bs that saty ran with at the 2020 pre-season. There has to be balance.

Saty has also baited folks on here and he's openly admitted that deliberately does so for [censored] and giggles.

Let's not pretend Saty is the moral citizen of Demonland.

Thought I might join the chat. McAdam is highly skilled, with evasive tricks and a good footy IQ. Marks as if he were taller, like Fritta. He's done the work and I look forward to his first game, where he kicks 3 and dishes off a couple.

Have prescribed vitamins to avoid further injury / illness and a small dose off apotropaic magic to ward of negative DL comments. He'll be fine.

Yep first game back at Casey will be interesting.

Aside from the perennial miserable old git or two I find DL to be a pretty good space to talk about the Dees. I'd much rather read a slightly embellished training report on here than anything that passes for the fourth estate these days.

the track reporting is great but the drama is tedious

I hope McVee isn't badly injured. Didn't look good on the footage

Is a high hamstring tear worse than a tear closer to the knee?

ai says:

A high hamstring tear, also called a "proximal hamstring tear," is generally considered worse than a tear closer to the knee (distal hamstring tear) because the high hamstring is closer to the bone attachment point and can involve more severe tendon damage, potentially leading to longer recovery times and sometimes requiring surgical intervention in severe cases.

Good question and one for ' @Webber'????

Absolutely. But often when a young player gets a hamstring injury, they may think it’s worse than it is because *usually* it’s one of their first “nicks” or “tears” to the hammy. Same goes for the first time you get other soft tissue injuries for the first time. They’ve never had the feeling of a muscle pull so could think something minor is a lot worse than what it is because it’s a foreign feeling.

Hoping this for Judd of course.

LOVE YA GHOST WRITER. Just don't take it to heart as Paul McCartney said Let it be. You are morphing into Saty we don't want that.

As people know I love my best 46 so here it is after reading the training session in full. Let's face it McVee won't be playing it's a 6 to 12 week injury.

What on earth?! Nobody has insulted you! I said earlier your training reports are really appreciated.

But you railed against misinformation from reporters and were then proven to have been guilty of the exact same thing yourself. I’d have pointed this out to any poster that had done the same thing, nobody is out to get you @Ghostwriter!

Saying 'Please don’t flat out make stuff up' is insulting someone's credibility.

What are you talking about? Nobody hates insights, nobody has said they don’t appreciate the insights. Nobody has insulted anybody else!

People are just a bit thrown when those “insights” provided are proven to be patently false, that’s all 🤷‍♂️

You are aware that people seeing the same incident, often give different descriptions of it. That is a fact, as proved in Courts and Tests thousands of times.

Some people see parts of an incident that others miss, or simply mistake what they saw.

Maybe we can leave GW alone and just appreciate her contributions, without constant attacks for innocent variations of what might or might not have occurred at training.

Surely the important fact is how long Judd will miss, not how he left the training track.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
