They have their own problems it seems with Nick Daicos dealing with plantar fasciitis….

And they are a major Nick injury away from bottom 4.

A pretty common injury that won't effect round one.

No biggie.

Yeah, just send him to the hospital and home and forget him for a few weeks

An on-the-spot fan took this image of the exact moment that Nicky's face was planted.

Might not do his confidence a lot of good.

Or it is an indication that he has no mental barriers about going in hard?

Not good particularly when he was already behind the 8 ball fitness wise, was hard to see him been 100% this year before this, even more so now

It’s not good, however to say he’s behind the 8 ball is incorrect and a bit insulting to Trac. He did a heap of work in his off season and has been in full training since essentially the start of training….

Maybe I’m just paying more attention this year but, from what I’ve seen he still seems to be lacking cardio and just doesn’t have the same spring in his step

Fair enough. From what I saw at training he looked similar to how he has in the past. Obviously I don’t know his GPS numbers though so can’t speak to his aerobic capacity

Genuinely couldn’t disagree more, based from what I saw from training at Gosch’s prior to the Christmas break. His lateral movement was something to behold, as was his repeated sprint efforts in the full ground exercises, and simulated square work

Coming up on ch10 sport next.

What an earth are they doing at training? First Max with his laryx and now Trac with a broken rib.

Is Jack making them cry?

Don't stress.  Jellyfish get by.

This comment might be too cryptic for some.

No contact for a couple of weeks, then light training through Feb. Thats probable for tracc.

The thing is we have had a very good pre-season otherwise.

It's terrible news. But there's a tiny silver lining in that bad things can happen at any moment that you can't control. I'd rather he crack his ribs in training now, than in another game against Collingwood. Get the monkey off the back, own it, and be ready to 'knock em stiff' come game day.

I want every player, every coach and every member of staff by his bed side 24/7. Stat.

He'll be right. Aye

Might have just found our new FF.

Play Trac out of the goal square pagans paddock style. Roo at CHf, koz and chin sprinting in from points of the square

Fritta starts 30 m out 3 rows in to grandstand. 6th man sprinting straight to defence at the centre bounce

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
