Would appear so.

I’m so curious on who we get this offseason.

Not looking good.

We're officially basket club status if Wade '0 games' Derkson is rejecting us

I’ve no concern that he’s not coming as I had none when Houston knocked us back.

I'm exactly the same although, as I've said previously, I am concerned with the amount of time and effort we have spent on this bloke when other, better options seem to have been ignored.

Sounds more like we went cold than anything.

If we get Miochek, send Petty back and retain May - there is no reason to trade for Derksen

Lets be realistic here. We probably delisted defenders in the last few years that were more experienced and more proven than Derks so not a huge surprise.

This is the most hilarious result after two years and 27 pages about a guy who has never played a game.

Heard on good source that

For over a year, Dees say yes yes yes

Last week, Dees now say no no no

We are a joke !!! Who would want to join this circus anyway.

Maybe his VFL form wasn’t impressive this year.

I asked a few knowledgeable GWS posters on Bigfooty whether he was on the cusp of senior selection and they all said he was miles behind Taylor, Buckley and Alir for a defensive role.

Sounds like King came in and said hell no to the Derk

The bloke is a spud! We are not missing out on anything

We now have a new coach who sees the game differently. We'd be a joke if we went through the process of sacking Goody and appointing a new coach and then trade for a player he doesn't want! If we changed our mind lets trust the process before bagging the club.

Or Kingy doesn't want him.

Not fussed if it's true. A lot happens in a year. Derksen is supposedly a swingman, yet couldn't get a game despite GWS having heaps of injuries to key backs and forwards.

If we were taking a low risk punt on spuds I’d rather Jacob Blight tbh

If he is delisted by GWS, we can just pick him up in the PSD for nuffin!

I think this give us an indication in King- he wants what he wants, and list fillers are out!

As I imagined King has come in and said thanks but no thanks.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
