Now I'm not for one moment particularly comparing Langers to a certain bloke from Golden Square... but he too wasn't written up as the fastest out of the blocks... but he went ok 👍 👌

I like the way this kid THINKS with the ball. Winning it is one thing... doing something useful with it.... gold.

Clarry could learn a thing or two... just sayin'

There were some who wanted him delisted or killed (can't remember which) after he failed to win us the game in 5 minutes of game time as sub against GWS

Come on - that's nonsense. Houston backed out on us because we were is disarray.

Well with the benefit of hindsight, Bison and Spreadsheet will serve us very well, long after Houston has rocketed off into the unknown depths of space.

His first quarter v Hawks was nothing short of brilliant for any player, let alone a first year player.

Great game by Harvey yesterday. 👏👏👏

Three goals. 22 possessions. Importantly 557 metres gained.

He’s still a kid with lots to learn but his skill, desire and will to win are clear signs of a very bright future.

It's a bit of an indictment on our front half when a 19 year old first year midfielder is our most dangerous forward option.

Keep on keeping on young Harvey.

Mini Bont comparisons is not far off at all

Absolute gem this kid. It's players like him you can build a premiership team around.

Great hands.

Great set shot.

Great composure.

Captain material for sure

He has a great career in front of him no doubt about it

No doubt in a few years when his body is'steel' hardened he will be very dangerous as a forward who plays mid to the elite level.

I do not want to 'moz' him but I think he will be a way better forward than Tracc in time.

Very strong overhead and his hands are exceptionally quick in tight with the ball.

At 191cm the Bison is the same height as Jake Waterman of WCE but Waterman can't play mid.

Chance of taking the Rising Star off Ashcroft. Mid possessions plus goals matter.

Champion data had him as the highest rated ball user vs the Hawks in Rnd 9 on Saturday 💪🏼

Harvey Langford is playing even better than we all expected and hoped for.👍😁

Nothing wrong with being a bit left, especially when you are in university.

Hawks did well with a. Few lefties. Thinking he will he as good as Mr Oliver. So right up there with the very best.

Interesting times. Which they were more positive but Go Dees

He's an interesting choice for a winger at the moment. He's strong in the contest, good in the air and a beautiful kick. Handy traits for a winger.

I'd try him forward. Take a good mark and has good body size. Knows where the goals are

I could see him waxing with Tracc. When Tracc moves to the midfield Langford goes fwd and vice versa

I’d leave him on the wing. He’s rarely if ever beaten one on one, has great hands, good vision and a beautiful kick, happy for him to drift forward and kick 3 goals whenever he wants though.

I like him wing for the moment, floating into the middle at times and then floating forward ala the Hawthorn game.

But I think in time, he'll be another Trac, in that he'll be dangerous forward and in the middle. And can wax with Trac.

I agree

It wasn’t a position I envisioned for him at the start of the year but I think it’s been a master stroke by the coaching staff

Allows him to use his size and strength against undersized wingers, as well as his skills, smarts and positioning to get the ball on the outside

It also means he can naturally drift forward to take fwd 50 marks like he did last weekend

He’ll be an inside bull one day but for now it’s a great position to allow him to impact games while still developing his body/tank

That is high praise indeed, let’s all hope that Harvey can maintain this level of football for the second half of the year. However, all indications are that Harvey Langford is every bit as good as we all anticipated. 😁👍

Maybe even better 🤗

That’s terrific praise for Harvey.

Interesting that according to Hoyne, Fritsch had one of the best debut years of anyone since 2010, and Langford is on track to also have one of the best debut years too.

Possibly his best game yet. I know he kicked 3 against the Hawks earlier this year but today everything he did was damaging. On top of his use of the ball by foot, I was really impressed by his releasing handballs and decision making.

Total gun. Such a good decision maker, great positions and game awareness.

A JT gem, as is XL.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
