Reposting this as it's relevant again.

Here are the forward coaches at every club. Spot the "actual" forwards.

Adelaide - Scott Burns
Brisbane - Murray Davis
Carlton - Jordan Russell
Collingwood - Justin Leppitsch
Essendon - Dale Tapping
Fremantle - Jaymie Graham
Geelong - James Rahilly
Gold Coast - Brad Miller
GWS - Jeremy Laidler
Hawthorn - Adrian Hickmott
North Melbourne - Xavier Clarke
Port Adelaide - Chad Cornes
Richmond - Kane Lambert
St Kilda - Robert Harvey
Sydney - Jarrad McVeigh
West Coast - Matthew Knights
Western Bulldogs - Matt Spangher

Greg Stafford did have some forward line ability. He did kick 141 goals in 205 games.

He's 716th most goals in the history of the game. It's a nonsense argument that he can't be a good forwards coach.

It's highly unlikely whoever we get to replace him would've kicked more goals and there's not going to be anyone who has played as a tall forward, a medium forward, a small goal kicker and a high half forward flanker. Playing experience is largely irrelevant.

TOM HAWKINS would be a great start!

I’d prefer they lure Brad Green across from wherever he is currently employed (Pies?).

It's impossible to measure the impact of assistant coaches. But I feel that Goodwin needs some fresh ideas around him.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a club decision to part with Stafford, but gave him a dignified exit by saying it was his decision to leave.

i wonder who else we could get in.. all for getting ex-demons back into the fold. so long as they are keen to be progressive and have gained experience from other clubs in the AFL system.

Brad Green is currently a board member at our club.

Thanks for all your efforts over the years Staf, through the good times and the bad you left an almighty imprint on the club and culture.

To be a fly around that camp fire at your joint at the start of 21 would have been an unreal experience, creating long lasting bonds that would cement our 13th🏆 premiership.

Safe travels to your next destination.

Thankyou for your comments, as a supporter, I hate seeing all these other negative comments in this thread. Heck the man gave exceptional service at a time when it was needed back in 2014

Huh? Brad Green is the managing director of a fire safety company and is on the MFC board.

Yeah I'm with you.

Personal opinions can be kept aside for a minute, the guy obviously gave us great effort and had very good rapport with the guys.

Cameron Bruce?  Currently at Brisbane as midfield coach

Ok, I got it wrong (I obviously haven’t done my research)… glad you get a kick out of ridiculing me for it. Give yourself a pat on the back.

Thank carryst he goes deplorable

I'm sad that we won't have his ruck knowledge anymore, but as a forward line coach he was a total failure.  Hopefully now we'll get someone who understands leading patterns and creating space for each other.

as a forward coach he cobbled together a premiership forward 6 from the backline and the scrap heap

Good fit, and jolly good luck🤮🤮

Good luck to him. Unfairly maligned and became the scapegoat when the first deep cracks at the club appeared and to save Goodwin’s [censored] for another season.

This is great news. Never rated his coaching ability at all.

And you'd know.

Good luck Greg, those who you coached spoke highly of you.

Maybe he'll be their forwards coach too.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

The Demons put four quarters of hard contested, fast running and high pressure football to knock off the ladder leaders and early premiership contenders the Gold Suns by 20 points at the MCG on Easter Sunday.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
