He liked a post that Viney made earlier today.
But let’s not make this yet another thread about Petracca.

What was that post about?

"Aye, fight and you may die. Run and you'll live, at least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!"

Max Gawn is our Brave Heart. Red and Blue. We will win another premiership because we happen to have the most remarkable people playing all at the same time: Gawn, Petracca, Oliver, May and Lever (apologies to to all the awesome others) and the leadership (shout out to you JV and our coach SG) that will make it happen.

Imagine how you'd feel if you were told that your team which finished with 11/23 wins had just recruited Petracca and Oliver. Welcome 2025.

He was swimming on the farm doing recovery and the girls were watching on

Like Paolo Maldini and Richard Gough the guy is meticulous in how he looks after himself and there is no reason why he can't play to a high level for the next three years.

Great stuff, Max is up there with Robbie for mine as a great player, Captain and loyal Clubman. In my opinion Max would retire rather than be a list clogger, as he is a club first guy if he thought he was done before his contract ran out.

As for George singing other clubs’ theme songs. Carlton was bad enough but the Filth theme song…considering calling Child Services 🤣😂

🔴🔵

As I’ve said before, Max has earnt the right to decide. Can’t see anyone wanting to retire him anytime soon.
And besides, another couple of extensions and George will be able to take over.

Problem solved.

We must remind ourselves that this thread is not about DeeSpencer, it is about our Max! I agree with all of the wonderful, positive and loving posts here devoted to Max. It is magnificent that he will be our leader through several more campaigns. What a treat it is that we will be able to watch him ply his craft for years to come.

Reminder to self; do not give DeeSpencer a further thought!

With an ounce or two with luck, this will take him past 300 games.

Obviously wanting another year added in 2028.

I have no idea who this guy is but he makes me burst out laughing every time someone posts it 🤣

Absolutely bizarre extension.

Leadership is going year by year when you’re 32, not asking for a 3 year deal.

Zero faith in the Melbourne list management team.

I truly believe you are a Collingwood supporter  - you gave it away the other day when you said "we played Daicos in the backline".  And no Melbourne supporter could be half as negative and anti-Melbourne as you are.

Just like the season was 😅

He’s played injured in finals the last 2 years and there’d be doubts on him carrying this injury through real pressure games this year if needed.

His so called brilliant leadership doesn’t sound so crash at the moment either.

I expect he can play at least 2 more and every chance of 3, but unless there’s a huge discount in his 2025 wage I can’t see the upside here.

And time will tell but so far it’s hard to see where the cash will be required.

Gawn’s now got his. So Viney wants his too, when Jack might not up to the level in 26/27.

Maybe this is good, but I don’t see the amazing optimism to cheer for this like the rest of you lemmings.

Stop just stop.

You make this sound like a bad thing. 😁

Why not come and join us sometime? You never know, you might enjoy not being a sourpuss.

We might be very happy in about 15 years that this kid likes singing the Dees club song.

Might even have a couple of brothers he can teach the song to as well.

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
