Probably gonna hear a lot of these things now, like a presidential candidate there will be some muckraking.

Challenging times.  Clarry's decline, the loss of Brayshaw and Nibbler and the possible loss of Trac closes any residual premiership window.

The talk of Trac wanting to debvelop his "brand" could be an inaccurate  smokescreen to indict Trac. Clearly Trac's recent injury trauma has probably sharpened his career focus and life priorities to try and facilitate change now.  Sometimes there is no tomorrow.

It has been suggested that Trac attempted to outline his views to the players and club has sought a change of coaching leadership from our tired, failing defensive game plan to something more offensive, ah lah the Pies last year.  If this is the case, he is showing strong leadership.

Some are suggesting he believes he is greater than the club.  Many readers will know how much courage it takes to stand alone against "the system".

I am a Goody fan. A genuine person who's greatest strength is developing player relationships. However, his tactics and game plan have not evolved.

Good coaches are important. Brilliant players (especially midfield) are CRITICAL!

Is it time for Kate to show strong leadership and decide?

Let Goody go or lose Trac.

I seriosly doubt Oliver can regain his form. Is Petracca the only one [censored] off at the club? What are the coaching staff doing ? It is a PR disaster. The Nothing to see here crowd are very quiet this morning

How many players have extended contracts this year plenty seem happy

Cerra (🤮) and a couple of firsts, as it was written in the stars

I'm not on X, it is an absolute cesspool. Tbh I'm not really on any social media that much, it is one of the biggest factors in the downfall of society in my mind.

My tip.

This will all blow over and there will be a big redemption, reconciliation patch up job by tracc's team.

Why?

Well, whilst i don't doubt tracc wants our, it appears he's wedged himself.

(I say appeared because whilst there's obviously been some strategic backgrounding to journos, the only info we've got thus far is from peanuts like Morris and McClure - note this a classic move of politcians and player managers alike as it gets the desired message out, sets the narrative but also provides a get out, we never said such stuff, option).

By wedged i mean the suggestion is he wants out, but only to a 'big Victorian club' in the Premiership window.

Realistically that is the pies, blues and a very long stretch the bombers (noting their home ground is marvel).

To get to one of those clubs a mighty good deal would need to be done - one that satisfies us.

What leverage does tracc have?

Well, some might argue his leverage is the dees having a player on the list who wants to be elsewhere and who might be bad for the vibe at the club

Big f deal for one thing.

But that's basically a threat - one we have clearly signalled (goody's post match presser being the best example) we are not going to be bowed by.

A key point is if things are so bad, and he really, really wants out then suck it up and go to the Tigers, or West coast, or the suns. Or wherever.

Or not, and honour his contract.

Plausible deniability. Could work. The press conference where he clears the air will be box office. Not sure how he walks back some of this stuff but that’s what PR consultants are for.

He has expressly stated Goody is not part of the problem. I’m sure he will be by his side for the public reconciliation. He will have to shield Trac from the public while he is being re-integrated back into the fold and help mend fences with his teammates. Goody is critical to all this

We’re going to have 6 weeks of de-stabilisation ahead of which trac will be totally to blame. It is still a distinct possibility he burns his bridges to such an extent there is no way back.

No matter what way you look at this it is a big mess, and the outcome is still very much up in the air.

It seems to me the club is also feeding the media. eg

  • That it was uncomfortable having Petracca at the club function last Sat night.
  • Who leaked StK pre draft psych test?  Unethical for the Saints to do it.  Petracca wouldn't have access.  Who at the Dees was at the Saints at the time and has the test details?  Who ever leaked the results it is totally reprehensible and betrayal.  It is confidential medical information.
  • Players are angry at Petracca and want him out ...
  • Petracca asked to be traded at the exit interview.  I assume the only the attendees were Petracca, Goodwin and maybe Richardson.

That to me doesn't look like a club that wants to mend a relationship.

Both parties are trying to discredit each other.  Both parties are damaging the club.  Its getting ugly and will become a very messy divorce.

The sooner they both stop feeding the media the better.

imv its time to bring in a neutral mediator and get the differences on the table and talk them out.  I don't have confidence that anyone at the club knows how to do such mediating.

Club may be leaking but I’m not sure it’s an offical move. More just people that were in attendance at the function on Saturday night.
Season is over now and players that are unhappy with Trac might be more willing to confirm the story with the likes of Lloyd and the stuff coming out of the exit interview could easily be Trac as he tries to force through the move.

some of the hypothetical trades I've seen floated on X are sensational though.

Think one had North's 2nd and future 2nd getting it done based off his age and injury.

Well, what do you think?

Someone is clearly leaking stuff to the media. It's either him or the club.

Who benefits more from this noise? Ask yourself that question, you'll find the answer.

Someone close to him

All of humanity's problems, stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone.

I think we can all agree our game style and some coaching has been less than inspiring, and if this is indeed the issue Trac is fighting against then he has the club's best interest at heart and I tend to agree with him, as much as I think Goody is a nice guy that's not always what we need.

If this is indeed the issue, I side with Trac, as uncomfortable as it might be for the team to admit he probably has a point.  Trac probably doesn't want to keep playing boring footy and to be honest we don't want to keep seeing it.

Seems like a bit of a brat way to go about things though, we can't possibly know what the actual issue is here and honestly Trac seems like he's being very selfish but perhaps he is just taking a stand against the failed direction and tactics that the club has been taking which has led us, to be honest, nowhere really, when I think we can all agree we should have been a lot better since 2021 than we have been in a lot of ways.

Probably not the best way to go about it though and if he's going to be a [censored] then that can't win the day either.

Something ain't right, and I bet no one knows what that is yet.  All will be revealed in time.

Neither am I to be honest. Pretty much off FB completely, might see Twitter every now and then for news, Insta I'll use to share some drawings every now and then but never to gaze through the feed.

I think Social Media can have a massive impact on mental health. DL is probably the only 'social media' I'm on.

When Tom Morris reported that Petracca wanted out, a lot of people attacked him.  It appears Morris was right.  I guess those people will come on and apologise.  Nah, they'll just go quiet.

Has nothing to do with Goodwin.

Has everything to do with the club (Roffey, Pert, Richardson) & the mismanagement of multiple events.

Has everything to do with fact that Petracca is a prima donna who thinks he is bigger than the club.

Seeing Collingwood supporters on Twitter suggest a straight swap for DeGoey which would be like swapping a brand new pair of Jordan 1's for a pair of slippers from KMart.

Exactly. The Traders even described De Goey as a "Kmart Dusty"

Haha exactly.. the same ones who have now turned on Petracca in the main Petracca thread.

The irony is wholesome.

Can imagine the next Damian Barrett piece already

IF...

The Melbourne players were annoyed at Petracca before

THEN...

They'd be furious now.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.
