Sure Harry would be great (if he somehow changed his mind and was happy to leave which I doubt)

But we're now in a position where we have to replace Gus, ANB and now Trac (who knows if Clarry can be Clarry again). Next year could be rough.,..

What if the club meets half way for Christian. Yes, we will trade you but only to a club that we believe have the absolute right capital. Maybe that’s West Coast? We were extremely keen on Reid. Maybe it’s North? LDU and pick 2? Christian won’t get everything he wants if he ends up leaving.

They absolutely should be saying this to him.

Collingwood are out of the picture, unless Daicos is up for grabs haha.

And Carlt are out unless Curnow or McKay are open, which they aren't.

That leaves Richmond or someone else.  LDU and Pick 2 sounds nice!!

Has anyone checked if Gus stopped following Petracca on IG?

Please, can we have this thread locked for just 5 minutes so some of us can make a cuppa.

And we need multiple hard running midfielders to replace Tracc, Brayshaw and maybe Clarrie. McKay would be nice but won’t solve our problems if our midfield isn’t functioning.

We go to the draft with pick 5 and Carlton’s first pick and get Oliver back. We could crash and burn or we might just get the mix right. I’m downgrading my recent 2025 optimism though.

Maybe our culture is spot on.

Maybe the problem with our culture is that we have too many nice guys in position of power.
Goody, Gawny, Richo, all really nice people who genuinely love every player.

In a high performing environment that can sometimes be a real problem.

TDK 26 in July,  201cm

Harry McKay 27 in December, 204cm

I would personally take TDK.

No way they offer up TDK.

I wouldn’t either if I was Carlton, but McKay is a plodder. If Carlton is happy to let McKay that tells us enough. Got to give something good for Trac, TDK and their first pick.

Makes me appreciate the guy even more that a few cheer squad members don't like him lol

I'm not spiteful at all, just hilarious the irony in all this that all of a sudden how quickly you can turn on a player when he's clearly brought negative press to the footy club.

As recent as a few days ago and last week you were still critical of people on here for suggesting he leaves. Funny..

Daz, @WalkingCivilWar has kept a pretty low profile for a very long time on her “lack of fondness” for Tracc. There have been hints here and there, but certainly no blatant knocks on the boy, for as we are all aware, WCW does not abide by the dumping on our players. Yet on 18th Aug, she wrote a post in response to someone else, where she hinted more strongly than I’ve seen before of her “lack of fondness “ for Tracc. It initially took me by surprise and I responded with the following to ensure I had interpreted correctly:

“Thank you for your comments on Clarrie. That is very reassuring.
As for Tracc, without actually saying it, you painted a very unflattering picture of him - which I’m sure was your real intent. It seems that the ego-maniac kid that first arrived at the club perhaps hasn’t really changed, only disguised that trait. I also infer that perhaps Tracc has been less than accepting of Clarrie’s transgressions, and that Batman and Robyn are no longer the dynamic duo. If the divide at the club actually stems from all of this, then I hope we give Tracc similar orders that we gave Clarrie - shape up or ship out”.

So I think you are being a bit hard when you say that she has “quickly turned on a player”, she’s felt that way for a long time. I also think that her posts were not “critical of people on here for suggesting he leaves”, as you claim, rather I read them as saying that it was only media chat, and that neither the Club nor Tracc had, at that stage, come out and said he was leaving, so don’t take it as gospel yet.
Anyway, it’s a very sad state of affairs and something our Club doesn’t need and really doesn’t deserve. Hope for the best but plan for the worst.

i didn't see anything that broke demonland rules

Who posted it?

Some disturbing revelations on this thread. If even half of it is true, with so many younger players at the club you would think that the FD would be looking to move Trac on in the same way they did golden boy Jack Watts.

The games changed, the last season and a half, is more fast paced. TDK has a bit of LJ and  X factor about him. McKay is an older school fwd who is no stranger to the yipps. TDK & Gawn can rest fwd and rotate through the middle.

TDK could do amazing things for our system.

If we move on trac, it can't be less than a top 5 pick, best 22 player and future 1st.

We then go hell for leather in bringing across Butters or Callaghan at the end of next year. Or Harley Reid though West Coast aren't going to give him up easily.

We won a flag but it was in Perth and it hasn't been that rosy since. Could argue the curse of Norm Smith is still with us.

Perhaps the answer is we need to trade our most recently Norm Smith medallist, sending the curse to another club...?

Trade him to Collingwood.

So according to McClure these are the 5 points why trac wants out.

Clubs refusal to deal with Oliver situation

Clubs management of his injury

Clubs poor form

Wants to play in front of bigger crowds

Wants to establish his offield brand and offield earnings.

Who is leaking this out?

I can understand being frustrated with Oliver & maybe letting it get to far, injury, ok he should have not been allowed back on in hindsight, he didn't have an issue with crowds when he signed on for 5 years.

His offield brand. Well he can establish that himself.  Is he going to turn into an influencer

Yeah he would be great for us or pretty much any team. He would be in the handful of untouchables at Carlton though.

I don't see that any clubs, yet alone Melbourne-based clubs, have the trade capital, not to mention the A-grade player to throw in. Apparently Hawthorn interested (though who knows ...), but they only have Pick 12 and ???

Except he is under contract and can only move at our pleasure

The strategy appears to be to make life as difficult as possible for the club in the following ways:

1. A personal media embargo, including pulling out of an interview last minute

2. All media leaks being done through his management on Sunday and Monday nights, when the footy shows are on

3. Burning relationships with his teammates and hoping the players can apply the burn for him by saying they're not keen to play with him

4. Knowing the club leaders are/should be under pressure and trying to force them to make statements they can't confidently keep to

I still remember his first interview on AFL 360 when Lachie Neale was on . He broke down but I felt then he was a bit lukewarm on the MFC. Have always wondered how he quickly fulfilled his media/tv commitments but never once shot out even a few words to the supporters. As I’ve stated before ..he’s obviously a sensational player but if the mental anguish he has been feeling is rivalling the physical trauma then who knows how he will be next year. We can’t fulfill the big club/big crowds ..Casey training grounds so if he wants to go let’s play absolute hard ball & set ourselves up. There is no way the club will be saying anything else but he’s here to stay etc because they will be aiming for the best deal going round.

Would you do Cerra and Carlton’s first pick this year and 1st next year?

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG to face the Tigers in their annual Blockbuster on ANZAC Eve for the 10th time. The Dees will be desperate to reignite their stuttering 2025 campaign and claim just their second win of the season. Can the Demons dig deep and find that ANZAC Spirit to snatch back to back wins?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
