Fullarton or Verrall in the squad... I'd prefer Verrall but I think Fullarton.

I also think he won't make the final cut

BBB and McAdam for game day

Yep

Fullarton and not Verrall

Salem being listed is interesting.

With Langdon out Hunter will be wondering why he has missed out

Waalitj Marawar (West Coast) v Narrm (Melbourne) at Optus Stadium, 3.20pm AWST

WAALITJ MARAWAR

In: J.Waterman, A.Gaff, J.Jones, H.Edwards, J.Culley

Out: J.Petruccelle (ankle), H.Johnston (omitted)

Last week’s sub: Harvey Johnston

NARRM

In: S.McAdam, C.Salem, A.Tomlinson, T.Fullarton, K.Tholstrup, B.Brown

Out: E.Langdon (personal reason), J.van Rooyen (concussion), D.Turner (calf)

Last week’s sub: Taj Woewodin

So could be McAdam, Brown and Salem for JVR, Turner and Langdon.

For them, McGovern stays in despite sore ribs and Waterman is back. Take them lightly at your own peril.

Oh uncle, remember ur blood pressure , steady on son!😇😅

You would think that Salem will play.

If they wanted to give him a light run there's a Casey game on Saturday. He's not making the trip as an emergency.

My guess on the final interchange is

McAdam, Salem Brown and Woewodin with Tholstrup as sub

Salem must have golden ticket like properties with goody, u watch IF he plays will cop another injury, and should come back through CASEY IMV😎

Does Fullarton play? No vision of him with the group being cheered for his first game. Personally I hope it's Tomlinson.

Who plays wing? Hunter completely out of favour.

Billing’s, Woey and maybe the Kolt?

That’d be my tip. Fullarton ahead of BBB only because he can give Max a chop out. Whilst I’ve seen BBB take a handful of ruck contests inside 50m he ain’t capable of rucking outside the arc.

Good to see Salem back in the side and hopefully spending some time on the wing with Lingers being NA (hope he is ok).

Good strong team named but still difficult to select the IC and sub from what ha been named.

There are a lot of ways that the team could be structured and it might be hard for WC if they are looking to react to our selections. I would have thought that Bowey and Sparrow are definite for the IC along with one of Salem, Woewodin or Tholstrup for the bench and one of the other two for Sub. That would leave one bench position for one of the talls.

Damned if I know what way they are going to go.

Whoever they name I want to see a much better performance in the first half of this game then the team ha delivered in the last few weeks.

Expecting a win but never count my chickens supporting this team.

Go Dees!

Give it to Woey

I reckon billings and woey will split it, with woey taking tge defensive end.

For your information Harrison Birch (Libby Birch's brother) will be Field umpiring our game.

Hunter would look at his poor Casey form. He should be dominating

Bench : Fullarton Salem Sparrow Bowey

sub Woey

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
