We are winning inside 50’s 13-11

lol

Yeah but Petty every single time finds a way to drag himself and his opponent to a one on one contest, just work with the space!

We have dropped numerous marks inside 50

All the talk about this game on radio was how close it was going to be… MFC “hold my beer”

Wow game over at qtr time.
We played like [censored]. Umps want this so badly and it ends up in a 5 goal to nil quarter

that was gross

HQ could not have the Brown Papers out of the 8. Ump 22 performing as asked.

The footy world will be saying “here is the Melbourne underbelly again’

Pathetic not to score

Woeful through the middle.  Smashed in all clearance battles including around ground stoppages.

And why would you rest Max for so long and allow the oppo to dominate further after giving up the first three goals early.

Terrible coaching decision

Can't play in wet / greasy conditions.

In wet weather you need to move the +1 in defence into the middle or even add an extra winger in as well to even or outnumber around stoppage and start winning the contested battles.

Leave it as is and it'll be the Blues how far.

They are making a very ordinary team look like Premiers honestly.

I guess Chris Scott was right. Geelong were off.

Premiership teams don't get smacked around, let alone 3 times in the first 9 games.

Watching that MCG grand final dream disappear.

Need a bit lift from midfield and forwards

Gee, we have become good at [censored] the bed in games with a big build up.

Anyone else feel like the fixturers are sipping on champagne right now?  🍾

Game completely on Carlton's terms. May doesn't want to follow Curnow and wants to play goalkeeper. That's fine but Curnow is happy to get up the ground.

Our I50s stink. Coming straight back out. Blues have setup well, matchups are perfect for them.

They pull the trigger quickly because they know if they turn it over we will move it so slow on the rebound, we ain’t gonna hurt them.

ANB back to his average I fear.

Petracca .... Have no words

Premierships are not won tonight. I think the effort is there. Few poor decisions. That's AFL

Come back Deez

we need to pull our finger out before this gets embarrassing.

my office is infested with Carlton supporters. I won't be able to show face for a week if we cop a hiding

It's literally Brisbane game all over.

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
