The Kolt to kick 3!

Lock it in!

Not only that , I can definately see him being on "'Ä Farmer needs a wife episode"'!

I hope all Dee’s fans are realistic about Kolt in his first game and aren’t disappointed if he doesn’t have a great game.

On what we have seen he has the talent to make it, but may need time as most young players do.

Then again, he could turn it on.

Fully realistic. Nothing short of:

-25 touches

-4 goals, with a GOTY contender

-7 jack viney style brutal tackles

-Dermott brereton style run through of the opposition huddle

-Shaun Smithesque Hanger standing atop Max Gawn

-3, 2 and 1 broqnlow votes and be awarded the Norm Smith in advance

Would get close to what this kid is capable of in game 1🤣

Similar with Caleb. Demonlanders need to temper expectations rather than hyping up these boys and then ripping them down when they don't dominate or when they have normal developmental patches.

Don't generalise bin's p a ( or worse still patronise ).

I am among those ' landers who have pumped up Windsor. I've also touched on the comparison with the great man.

However, myself, and I'm sure most 'landers are also realists - we know there will be setbacks and flat moments during the development of a career.

Let's just enjoy ( or dream about ) the highs for the moment.

Went to the ground just to watch this young man tonight.

Short steps.  Ah la  Jimmy Toumpas

Couldn't be more dissapointed in his debut.

This is a [censored] post IMO.

Even if you're thinking if, even if it's true, he's an 18-year old debutant playing in a side where his A-grade teammates were getting belted.

More importantly, he clearly isn't ready for AFL level football. That's on the FD, not him. He simply should not have been picked.

I want us supporting our kids, not throwing them under the bus.

Not sure what the thought process was to pick Kolt tonight. He hasn't done anything to look even remotely close to being ready and you fed him to the lions (no pun intended). This was as bad as sending Watts into play the pies on QBD.

Meh, kid played in the toughest spot on the ground in a midfield smashing, I thought his work rate was good, he held a number of strong tackles and he had good energy.

Might be dropped or subbed but I doubt there’s any long term effects from a quiet debut.

Not sure exactly who else we should’ve played. I suggested Kynan Brown but he’s so light he would’ve been brushed aside just as easily. Otherwise AMW as a forward but maybe that’s mucking his development when we might need a dashing defender very soon. Plus we need him to develop as a player.

I've been a bit bored watching the footy since the departures of Fitzy and Frost. Thinking the Kolt might fill that chaos gap but with a bit more competence. Hopefully we can now accommodate a square peg.

Kolt was fine, he is going to be a good player.  He is used to being bigger and stronger than his opponents which shower with him trying to push them off.  When he fills out he will be much better.

The first 5 min of the game i recon he was tackled 4 times for a ball up which doesn't show as a stat on the scorecard but they are important touches none the less and shows he is in the right spots.

He will be fine and i hope he gets another couple of runs this year!

I wouldn't be judging a young players debut at all tonight going on how his teammates played, must have been so hard for him.

I thought he did very well, looked confident with a good attitude and strong, hope we see more of him.  Shocking night to debut the whole team was very shaky, he got thrown under the bus a few times too I thought.

I reckon he did well with what he had to work with last night, I hope we give him more games this year in the seniors.

Think he's a troll spouting garbage.

Would love the mods to kick people like this off....

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
