Moonshadow 17,678 Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Geez, how much would have the great man Robbie Flower enjoyed our 2021 flag? Sadly missed 2 Quote

Absolute ‘poetry in motion’, and I feel privileged to have seen him play. To my eye, nobody will ever match those traits, but gee, Caleb Windsor looks like a future star! He has a lot of ability, but he isn't Flower. I had the priviledge to see him play. He baulked, blind turned, evaded and took screamers. He'd run and bounce with his left hand and kick goals with his right foot. He was a fair player and I remember Mark Jackson nearly got killed at training by the rest of the group when he got too physical at training with him. 6 Quote
Dee Dee 1,145 Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 Is Windsor left or right footed, or both? Seems to use them both! Maybe a bit Travis Johnston like: football related only. 1 Quote
Young Angus 851 Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 Imagine Caleb's face if he read this and saw people comparing him to Robbie Flower...reckon he'd like that a bit! Outside of Harley Reid (who is a very different player) I reckon we got the best pick of the draft with him. 5 Quote

He plays a lot shorter than Flower though. Flowers’s marking prowess looks to have been underrated based on what I’ve seen (too young to have seen him live). 4 Quote

(There, I’ve said it). Exciting young player. It’s like seeing Oliver and Petracca in their first year and realising that they are special players. Windsor is a lightly built player who will take a lot of physical punishment from opponents. He is going to be physically tested every game. He might be tough but it will take its toll as the season progresses. So I hope that he can be rested and managed from a long term perspective because we don’t want to see his progress impeded by serious injury or simply wear and tear. Let’s hope we can look after him because at this rate he is going to attract the attention of all the big cashed up Victorian Clubs. He will be another Oliver and Petracca. 5 3 Quote
PaulRB 6,435 Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 A question for the Demonland brains trust, as Caleb develops does he have the tools to play in the middle, aka Butters or Rozee? or is he too slight... 2 Quote

I think he does. He is actually quite similar in size to what Rozee was in his first season. 8 Quote

He could take a ride for a screamer, and dive to take marks or one-handers that nobody else would. Knew to never get involved in a body contest, cos didn’t have the body-work skills of say, Fritta (similar build). I’m resuming my judgment on Caleb’s overhead skills just yet, only cos hasn’t been presented yet. Would complete the picture, no doubt. 6 Quote

Definitely has the hands and decision making in tight, so he will be a centre bounce player when he gets enough muscle. 2 Quote

What makes you think we are not a cashed up big Bic Club at the end of 2024. ? Enough to hold Caleb for his first 5/6 years. 1 Quote

Early days but you could be right! The 2023 Draft class is starting to look like a promising bunch. Read and Walter are future guns for GC/the team they head to after there contract runs out. Wilson, Sanders, Reid, And Watson are all having impact already! Duursma and Mckercher look very promising too. The difference is Caleb gets to slot into a very consistent and high preforming 22. The poor Roos kids are stuck in an absolute rabble. Reminds me of what we did to Scully & Trenners. Having said all that, Caleb at pick 7 is looking like an absolute steal! Now bring on the Kolt! 2 1 1 Quote

Adam The God 30,715 Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 Caleb has been really good and I really like him as a player, but the hype on here (and elsewhere) is astronomical IMO. 2 1 Quote

The heart beats true 18,201 Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 He’s such a composed player. On exposed form you’d think him and McVee have played 150 games each. Some players just have it. He has it. 5 Quote
