F3rd and saints are paying part of his salary, good for depth and if he reaches his potential he could be anything.

and it doesn't hurt our push for a top 4 pick on draft night!

2nd trade period in a row we've done a favor for Paul Connors which is probably smart business.

Is that how you view it? Ie Billing’s wanted to get out of Saints desperately?

What’s the main issue with Billing’s? I must say I haven’t followed closely this thread or his career so apologies if it has been covered in depth.

We've done ok to upgrade our class and X factor with McAdam and Billings in and Harmes and Jordon out.....got so many grunt players it worthwhile trading in a bit more skill

My Brother thinks he's a list clogger.

I don't share his perturbation.  But there will be others with a similar view.

Good bit of business by the Dees.

Oh well! Let's see if he can get on the park.

Might plug a gap here and there but my expectations are low.

He won't solve our goalkicking woes but might be a handy link in the chain.

That's a potential improvement provided they can remain on the park for the most part and we can clean up the way we bring the ball in (more so for McAdam)

For me, Billings has just gone from ‘yeah, nah’ to a ‘sound investment’.  We needed to refresh our list a bit.  Billings is part of it.

For me he’s better suited to the role we were having Jordon play in 2022. And might give Hunter or Langdon a scare if they don’t pull their fingers out. He’s quick, a good runner, good field kick (has shocking goal kicking yips though) and hasn’t ever really had a chance to put his best out there consistently.
This is some of the midfield depth we lost with Jordon and Harmes, not inside depth, but depth that complements our inside mid strength (Oliver, Viney, Trac, Sparrow). Shrewd and cheap.

Yep and this is a BIG IF. If he can get fit and has a decent run at it I reckon he's a lock for best 22. Guy can play providing his body stands up. Good move by us.

Have you been living under a rock? May became the best key defender in the game after he got traded to us. Not to mention that Lever and Hibberd have had their career best years under us too.

Aside from maybe Jeremy Howe, I can't think of anyone in recent years who actually reached their potential after leaving Melbourne.

James Frawley played 100 games and won a flag with Hawthorn.

Stephen Sylvani was just on Trade Radio and said they hadn't even spoken to Melbourne about Billings. So who knows. SOS would be the last person I'd trust on anything. Based on the Vibe. Nothing else.

A consequence of an inability to string several words into a coherent sentence.

Robert Elliot was a pretty good player.

His brother Glenn was a gun mid. Not sure how good Robert was.

He probably is, but you take your chances when you’re in the window.

Would love to take 2nd and 3rd round picks over keeping a few oldies on the list mind you, but upgrading the best 22 and filling in the playing list up to 30 or so useful players has generally been this recruiting teams focus rather than chasing talent.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
