He is contracted next year isn’t he ?

Then they will need to come up with some very very good draft picks - not sure how that happens

Correct, we have him under contract for 2025.

Our preference would obviously be to retain him beyond that, however if he tells he wants a trade and will walk regardless in 2025, and crows stink it up this year and end up with a top 5 pick, do we bite the bullet for max value?

Another negative post from afar. Do you ever really see the real footy news. Just  like bleating from the bleaches your comments.

What rubbish do you read in your part world?? Last centuries fish and chip wrappings?

Totally  wrong Harry is a fine young KP player albeit injury prone. Watch our forward line transform when he gets back in next week.

We cannot afford to lose Harry unless we get  2 first round draft picks in the higher range.

If Petty goes we absolutely have to recruit a decent key forward. Most likely Brown and T. Mac retire, Schache not reliable unfortunately, Jefferson young but question marks on his physicality.

our Key position forward talent is wafer thin already let alone with Petty leaving.

Not sure who we can poach, but if we only seek draft picks as compensation for Petty we must thinking rebuild.

While not giving up hope on retaining him, I might just have to add them to the 2.0 deathride.

I find it interesting that the accepted narrative in footy journalism is to speculate about player moves before most teams have even started the year. We’ve had Oliver, Petty, JUH amongst others. I thought it was ‘not done’ to speak about other teams’ contracted players? In public at least?

This industry is becoming a deeper and darker cesspool, with the journalists lying on their backs at the bottom, feeding on it all.

I suggest we leave this speculative conversation until we see how he returns from injury and whether he can return to his brief but good form

That moment has passed.

Maximum trade value was last yr when he was still in contract. Mid-ish first rounder is what the offer will be otherwise they’ll threaten to take him to pre-season draft where everyone will baulk at his heavily front-ended deal and desire to be back home.

Goodwin gambled on him being a critical piece in a premiership tilt this year. I don’t blame Goodwin, but it isn’t looking great for us at the moment.

He is still contracted until the end of 2025. We still hold the cards but if we don't trade him this year he becomes a R(?)FA at the end of next year.

I can't see how we don't hold Petty to his contract for 2025 unless we have a proven and experienced key forward to replace him. The club owes it to itself and its members to look after its backyard first and foremost (which they didn't do with the Grundy trade)

We should tell Adelaide that if a forward hasn't agreed to come to us before or during trade week this year, then we're not trading him.

The only negative thing regards to Petty is the fact he seems to want out. He’s not the messiah. I’ll take good picks and or a player and happily move on. I don’t see him as the answer.

I think they are still mad about Lever.

Didn't we give 2 first round picks for lever and also ended up with Pick 35 - which funnily enough we recruited Petty?

If he goes, then we will be well compensated.. Funny that Petty has become Wayne Carey after a couple games forward. the reliance and expectations on him to be the saviour up forward is laughable. I hope he is, but the sample size is tiny.

Get a couple first rounders for him, turn him into a genuine fwd.

The key to all this is if Brayshaw's money is outside of the cap, if it is we are in a very strong position to retain Harry.

Petty's management have played this perfectly over the summer, if we offer similar terms to the Crows i reckon he will stay.

This all depends on Petty performing this year and body staying sound.

Always gets injured when playing as a forward, sign of a fragile body

What do people expect we're not talking about a tiddlywinks tournament. Aussie rules is a contact sport and can be quite brutal at times. Harrison's serious foot injury was a result of a 100kg defender's awkwardness, loss of balance or lack of care? Falling impactfully on his lower limbs.

Worth noting that;

- half time reporter was Theodore Doropolous

- Theo has just scored the job of his lifetime with ch7 in Melbourne

- Theo is from Adelaide

- if I were Theo I’d be leveraging my network back home to score early points in my new plush gig

- Theo has 6 O’s n his name. Can’t be trusted.

Theo is actually from Perth and moved to Adelaide for work opportunities

Most players peak at 26-29 so his best years are still ahead of him.

KPFs are extremely hard to find. They don't often become available and usually you have to draft them and wait years with a slim chance they develop into above-average KPF.

With all of this in mind, we need to fight like hell to keep him. If we can't, the minimum price is two first-round picks. Or Rachele is a Victorian - we'll take him plus a first rounder.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
