I feel sick in my stomach after what happened to Angus and then no penalty. I can still here them chanting while Angus lay unconscious on the ground. May the Lions win by a large margin.

Ok Brisbane over to you. Today please break the hearts of every pies player and supporter.

They must start well and take every opportunity they can.

Go lions

CARN THE ROYS!

💙💛❤️

Pies into Naicos for the Norm a certainty. Gil loves narratives.

Really galling to have to watch 2 sides that we beat in the grand final.

I wake this morning and feel like we missed a golden opportunity.  Please lord, dont let the Pies get a flag.

First goal - Zac Bailey

But please can the Lions win!

From a long way out I thought this was our year.

I was so confident we would be in the GF I booked a city hotel for this weekend.  To enjoy the festivities, see the city awash with red and blue and make up for missing the fanfare in 2021.

I'm still in disbelief that we aren't at the G today.

I truly believe we should be there and my confidence wasn't misplaced; there was no way to predict the impact of thuggery and our appalling goal kicking.

As it is now not a Coll vs Carl game I will watch it cosseted as it were at the home of Dees supporting friends.

Having to barrack for Daniher and Zorko is rather sickening but there is no other way.

Go Roy boys!!!!

Soon this Darkness will be over…

Filth Thuggery

Never Forget Demons

He was Taken out, and it was Sanctioned by The Governing Body

Never Forget

Come on Roy Boys !!

ABC     It’s easy

The only way I see Brisbane losing is if they do a Melbourne and sheet the bed on the big stage at the "G".

I should be on my fifth coffee, third Red Bull and tenth cigarette by now, having not slept a wink last night.

This should be a GameDay thread.

Dane Zorko- all will be forgiven and forgotten (for making Harry cry) if you do two things: take Maynard down, and get your team on the podium.

I’LL GET YOUR FACE TATTOOED ON MY PERSON IF YOU CAN DO THIS!

100%.
So .... Disappointing.
Arrggg!

Really could have been us playing today. An in form Melksham was a huge loss. Not playing Grundy for whatever reason didn't help. Tmac was a poor compromise and I won't talk about the incident here.

Pies are an average side that were very lucky to beat us and just scraped in against the Giants who played their third interstate final in a row. After a six day break. Hmmmm.

Like so many others my interest is to see pies get smashed and a certain player get a taste of his own irresponsible and very dangerous footy acts so as to stop them happening to others again. Because the afl won't stop them, someone else should.

We were not the best side this year. We finished 4th for a reason. KPF injuries the biggest factor no question about that. Bad luck but there you go.

Could still have one either of those finals but if you can't kick the ball between the big sticks and score more than the opposition, then you are not the better team. We do not deserve to be in today's final because our goal kicking was putrid.

Beautiful day. Off to the park with the kids and the dog for a while. Hosting a BBQ to watch the game. All set and ready to go.

Lions will win. 2 relatively straight forward finals (reminds me of us in 21). Forwards humming. Pies have not been in particularly good form for a couple of months. McStay out a big loss for them.

Lions by 35 points I reckon. I'll enjoy the looks of anguish on the pies supporters faces.

I think Brisbane will [censored] the bed, Collingwood will win pretty convincingly and we will all look back on a badly missed opportunity.

You will have all seen the cartoon of that thug on the morning paper lift out.

just not appropriate, any other player

FMD !

I’m actually worried that Andrew’s goes to Mihocek, and Cox has a field day on Gardner.  It would be my worst nightmare.  But Macrae is astute and will be working out how to exploit Brisbanes lack of a second fit tall defender.

You could always put it on a Dart board

or make it a voodoo doll

Never been more uninterested in a GF before.

The thought of either Cox and Maynard or Daniher and Hipwood being premiership players just doesn’t sit well with me, sadly it’s only a matter of time.

This year we’ve been constantly reminded that Nick Daicos is the best player in the game and Harris Andrews is the games best defender.

A Brownlow medal count where 14 average touches gets you 3 votes and 42 touches and 2 goals gets you none.

The umpiring / goal review system at an all time low.

The tribunal system clearly broken.

Two of my best mates, both Collingwood supporters (one at the game today) telling me telling me this week that we (the Dees) were the better team in both our finals and should of win them both does little to comfort me.

Throughout the year I have as many on here have invested so much time & money into watching our club, betting, SC and being on here only to be left so disappointed not only by our club but the game as a whole.

Having said all of that, [censored] you Maynard, Carn the Lions.

Any DL posters heading to the game today?

Can’t wait for the game and hoping the karma bus pays Maynard a visit, one way or another. I don’t hope he gets hurt, I just hope he has a stinker of a game and is one of the main reasons they lose.

Hopefully next year I’ll be cheering on the red and the blue rather than being a neutral in the crowd.

The media's orgasmic response to the filth in a granny is strange. One would think it was 57 years since their last and not a paltry 13.

Watch the filth fans boo Neale today. Like it was his fault.

Dirty club. Dishonest players. Filthy fans.

One can only hope they lose today.

A small degree of joy in that at least.

Watch the umps try and spoil it though.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?
