Is Kozzy injured? He couldn't kick straight to save his life.

[censored] I hate football.

Watch that inbred hack Maynard get off

I've got my matches and firelighters at the ready.

3 out of bounds in the last qtr!!

Are we now finals chokers?

Consecutive losses: 3 with pretty poor performances in each.

Also bugger off Richo and Maynard had no care for how Gus was. Just trying to defend his thuggery.

So deflated. Blues/swans will know we are gettable.

Where did we go tonight???!!

If Maynard gets off after Bedford got a week I quit football

Maynard if i see you in the street lets just say wouldn't be friendly any legacy your family has with Casey [censored] dead in the water you

Yep

Grundy will be practising his set shots all week after this. Van Rooyen one week no doubt.

Sad that even with our poor kicking we let Pies win tge game in tge first quarter.

Our midfield and wings were disgraceful in the first.

And we'll go into the next match without Brayshaw and probably JVR.

Nice while it lasted, but we are not winning it from here even if we do win next week.

Very selfish from Rivers, why take a 45 m kick when you have players all around the goal square.

Lost in the first quarter. For a team coming off 2 insipid finals performances last year to get smashed at the contest like we did in Q1 is just hard to fathom.

How many teams have done two consecutive straight sets exits? Are we going to add another 'embarrassing record' to our list?

Essendon did it about six years in a row before becoming a powerhouse.

Agreed…Laurie not an AFL standard footballer at this stage

That was sheethouse.
Continuous long bombs into a crowded forward line and sheet kicking.
I'm sure there'll be "learnings."
But it won't be from the coach.

No fwd line.

Poor kicking to go with it.

Lots of just games.

Choked in my opinion

Fritta and TMac looked like 2 guys who haven't played for months. And now we have to go the long way, without Gus or JVR.

Tmac is cooked

Literally just handed the flag to Collingwood.

Here i was thinking I had full faith in Goodwin, but how wrong was i. We're heading for a straight set exit in finals two years in a row purely of arrogant teams selections and senior players failing to stand up when needed.

McDonald, Salem, Chandler Laurie were absolutely trash.

Petracca and Gawn were the only ones willing to stand up but unfortunately the rest didn't want to follow.

McDonald can honestly retire for all i care. Needed that goal to just completely turn the game and he had a mare.

So disappointing.

I agree, JJ would have been better.  He was barely sighted (On tv) like a few of our players.

Wet weather. Play slow. Kick behinds. Lose.

Effectively killed our season in that first quarter. We knew that’s what they’d bring, more than anything else about the game. Match them, and it was ours to lose. Let them get a more than 3 goal jump, and it would be too much. That we failed to stop them is enormously disappointing and frustrating. But we just weren’t up to it. Hope it’s not a wasted chance at a flag, but it’s sure looking that way. And to any of you saying Collingwood don’t deserve to be where they are now, wake up! It’s a four quarter game.

I felt sick after Gus went down, incredibly tough for the players to come back from that. Could be career ending.

5 mins longer and we likely win that.

Incredibly frustrating game and there’s some hard questions to be asked of a number of players.

Also, Cox is the biggest piece of [censored] going round, the dive into Trac’s legs and then holding it while he twists is so incredibly dangerous

That's the sad truth brother. Fingers crossed for Gus but it's not good news.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
