I think he signed on with GC as he's originally from that area. He was probably offered decent coin to move and from memory I think Dimma was disappointed to lose him at that time. Clearly not in his plans now though.

Yeah back to his home state, plus cash, plus opportunity to play regularly that he was getting at the Suns.

I’m not sure the Suns or Hardwick would want him to go. He’s down the pecking order as a key forward but as a forward/ruck he’d be in line to take back over for Casboult.

But across the competition you’ll see guys on big money playing in the reserves sent to new homes where they can.

I agree he is super talented. He is a natural forward who as you suggest is a good second ruck option.  And that is exactly the sort of player we need.

But i reckon his lack of intensity rules him out from any team goody coaches.

No coincidence he's keen to leave the Suns.

I suspect he left the Tigers because Hardwick is like Goody in that he values intensity and attack on the ball over all else. And who is coaching the Suns next year? Hardwick.

Don’t be fooled by his athleticism.  The bloke is C grader at best and terribly inconsistent.  I’d rather use a pick and develop them

If a coach could get Chol to release some inner aggression and play more physically, he could be anything. His skills are really good and he can kick straight. But like Binman said above, Hardwick and Goodwin favour intense, contested ball players so I can't see us being interested in him.

The same was said about Weed.   Players can’t be taught to be aggressive, they either have it or don’t.   Chol definitely doesn’t.

More physically gifted, but has little intensity or physicality compare to Jack.

Yeah I think you’re right. To me Chol looks like a very gifted athlete playing AFL rather than a footy player. Silvagni is a mid-tier player with limited abilities, tries his heart out, but could fit into a team as a role player IMO.

Hes actually quite talented and is one of the few rucks who can genuinely play fwd

But he plays with this almost care free nature where he looks like he lacks intensity and any form of urgency

I guess Goody and JT would need to feel that his apparent casual approach is because he isn’t being encouraged to make the most of his natural talent, or if he is actually timid and or lazy.

44 goals in 2022 does not equate to timid or lazy results. That stat is a very good outcome.

I’m not sold, but I don’t see many other options to play a role Gawn and Grundy could not produce as a fwd/ruck option.

If it’s a ‘Noooooo’ PF, who on the MFC list or on another clubs list, who ‘IS’ gettable, can fill a gap on our list? Assuming the reports Grundy is gawn, and that combo was a massive fail!

I think it’s just proof that one year up at the Gold Coast Suns is enough to want to get the hell out of there for some players.

Think he can play. Always looks likely when I watch him. Surprised to see how little he played at the GC this year.

Certainly fills a big need.

Worth a try - our whole coaching/performance management team(s) have enough nouse to turn him into a competitive and further skilled asset and forward presence. Probably too lean for the backline.

2 years at 500k remaining, when he did not get any senior games last year, is a hell of a lot different to 1 year at 500k and numerous senior games where he played very well.

Will be at least 3 clubs looking at him to take in that year and smooth it out with two more on less coin. If it's not us doing the same.

He might be a handy player, but GC won’t want to absorb any of that salary. The coin puts an end to any discussion IMO.

Schache is our place holder depth tall who is soft/skilled. Any other trades for tall forward/rucks need to make us immediately better and go straight into the 22.

If we're recruiting for depth, I would prefer a much less skilled work horse Andrew Phillips/Cam Pederson type over a skilled soft player. Would probably be cheaper too.

I mentioned him a few weeks back after watching him come on as a sub and have an impact. Think it’s sort of trade that could suit all parties. We get a key forward/Ruck that should have bigger impact than Shack or Weid to cover while Jefferson develops. Suns get him off their list as they have Walters and at least two other academy players coming in and he gets to join the premiers.

He is a perfect back up if cheap,  but i don't think his contract would be that cheap.
And the reason he wants to leave is because he want's to be a B22 player.  I'm not sure he would make our Starting 22, there is a forward spot up for grabs.

He just screams to me as a player that needs to have an AFL player lifestyle at the club and away from the club, needs to switch on a bit and optimise his potential.  Could our program unlock that?

Could fill a spot until Jefferson is ready.

Also wants to get away from a Coach who previously cleared him.

Yeh true, to be fair once Lynch joined rich he was never getting a game.
Handy to have on the list, can play forward and ruck for the right price id like him.

Let's see how big Tommy Mac goes in the next month holding down the fort, while Jacob Van Tap-Artist rucks. Maybe Chol will be surplus to needs by then, with Pettys return next year imminent and TMAC looking ready to go around again to make it 3 flags as a KPF and go down as a Great of the Game

Things can change fast.

Damn, how good would it be to have a Cam Pedersen type on our list right now to call up. Inconsistent but a go-er.

Or the new Coach is the one who dumped you a year earlier and wouldn't play you.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
