The regular season has come and gone rather quickly. With the game over a week away, maybe it’s time to remember some of the moments that made you go bananas during a match this season.

Beating Collingwood and Melky sinking Brisbane.

Generally seeing the development of McVee, JVR, Woewodin and last two weeks Laurie and Turner.

No stubborn Goody at team selections. Clearly he identified this in the off season from last year because it's evident this year that he isn't afraid to make tough decisions and move players around.

The torpedo bump. To his credit, Smith shrugged it off

Melksham's goal was right up there but seeing this kid run out of the G and receiving his last wish was special:

Great thread, DZ!

Mine is an off-field moment…. that Thursday night when we learned that the two-match suspension given to JvR had been successfully overturned. 🥳

5. The train ride home after the Brisbane win.

4. The last half of the Brisbane game…you could feel us coming

3. Fritsch’s return against the Swans

2. Melksham’s block of games….tragedy for him doing his ACL. He’ll be in rehab when we’re playing finals….simply unfair.

1. Beating Collingwood when apparently it couldn’t be done

eq. 1. Viney’s goal against Brisbane, GOTY for mine.

BEST H&A MOMENT OF THE AFL…

Oh, wait, I thought you meant BT’s best H&A moment… EVER.

Only got to two games this year - beating Sydney at the SCG - and seeing Jack Viney nail swans players in the last quarter

In order:

1) the Brisbane miracle thanks mostly to Melksham. You can’t describe that feeling when you’ve resigned yourself to a certain loss, only to be singing the song 15 minutes later.

2) beating the Pies on Kings Birthday. The atmosphere was phenomenal and we needed to exact revenge after numerous kings/queens birthday losses.

3) the comprehensive master class we put on Sydney in round 3 in a statement win against a bogey side.

4) The Sydney win at the SCG. Very enjoyable last quarter to attend live after it looked like we’d packed up for the home and away season. Only reaffirmed our belief that the club means business.

5) The Dogs win in round 1. After the 2022 finals collapse, it was extremely pleasing to start 2023 with a bang and prove to the league that we were going go be a serious player again.

Hopefully there will be many more special moments to come next month across three MCG finals.

I have no idea. But many of them look about 12yo so maybe that’s why.

Massive kudos to Smith for how he took that.  He went right up in my estimation after that.  He would've fitted in perfectly in the 1980's.  Win 'em and wear 'em.

Genetics mostly. Or decreased levels of certain hormones. Keep in mind you could have two people in the same family that have differing levels of hair body hair so it is complicated.

That, or they shave.

Watching McVee progress.

Call me crazy, but there is a very good midfielder in that kid. Hope he gets a chance to spend some time in middle in the coming years as his player awareness is Pendlebury like.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
