Could be anyone of about 10/12 of our players  May Lever McVee Rivers Viney Lingers Kossie Clarry Gus Trac Gawny ANB ( his recent form and minimal errors have him in best ever status) Fritta Tmac and Sparrow.

Sorry JVR Hunter Bowser Joel Bill L Hibbo Disco Tommo Spargo. Broody etc.

No wonder we are one of the favourites with this team all in pretty good form and bl..dy determined. They look mighty hungry also.

I am hoping that all our players have an excellent finals campaign.

Although, I am especially looking forward to seeing how Kozzie Pickett performs on the big stage!

GO YOU MIGHTY DEMONS!!! 🔴🔵👹

CHINNY CHIN CHIN CHANDLER!

Look out! He may not be big, but he’s fearless!

If going by what Goody said last night on 360 (that our players are mighty fresh and fit), then its really a hard choice as anyone of them can go nuts.

For me if i could chose, anyone of ANB, Kozzy or Chin. Reason being, when any one of them fire it means our a forward half game is on and that usually means a W.

Joel Smith will have an important moment for sure.

James Jordon will step up as a late-game sub and provide a valuable boost when a game is tight. Couple of smothers, maybe a run-down tackle on Pendlebury at a crucial moment that results in a 12-point end-to-end turnaround.

I believe in small heroes.

Apologies Chin !!!

Fritsch. Safe as houses. He’ll kick 15 finals goals for us

Surely not literally?

Yup, literally and then we will use the defence he was possessed by a Demon and he won’t get suspended (or jail time for murder)

Viney (he'll win the Bluey too)

And

Rivers, he just keeps getting better and better. Loving his runs off half back.

Trac he went crazy eyes in that third qtr against the Swans to drag us back into it. Just like he went crazy eyes in the 21 gf. Trac in the zone is a man possessed and scary for any opposition

Gut feel says JVR’s going take a huge mark and nail a clutch late goal at the Punt rd end to win us a final. Maybe as soon as the Pies final.

when he gets THAT LOOK i know that we as a team are about to go on one

Petracca will step up again. He was looking very determined and dominant in the second half against the Swans. He’s a weapon. It’s like a switch flicked and he was like righto the real stuff starts now, similar to Dusty firing up in finals in years past.

Might be another Norm Smith coming his way!

With the multiple support structures around him, Petracca is going to explode - unstoppable - mobile - tough - pacey - great vision - deadly sharp-shooter - determined - ahead of the pack. His last few games seem to have been a series of specific and cameo rehearsals for what he is going to do in the finals. Clarrie will also lift, now back into the team.

Trac, Viney, Gawn, Brayshaw, Rivers, May, Lever………take your pick, Champions the lot of them. 💪

Clarry not a champ?

Would it be nice to have Tmac be the one.

I have a suspicion it will be Fritta.

Kozzie is certainly a wildcard.

Oliver who has missed almost half a season should never be underestimated.

I might as well mention the entire team.

Could easily be a dozen of our players.

Fairytale#1: May winning the Norm and giving his premiership medal to Jake M.

Fairytale#2: Grundy getting a horses-for-courses gig next Thursday, ripping it apart, then taking that form through two more games (Fairytale#2A: The second of those being a Collingwood rematch)

p.s. Thank you, everyone, for not taking up @SPC's offer to nominate players from other clubs. How will anyone be able to qualify anyway?!

p.p.s. The above views do not necessarily reflect the author's residual MFCSS. Go away, QF favouritism!

Chandler could well go berserk, kicking several goals; he is just as accurate as Fritta, is faster and has a very big engine. He is also a rather reliable target when moving to space, from space and reading the incomings from downfield. He is, WCW, well-built, tough and plays taller on the ground than expected.

Close, my count is potentially 14 MFC players. :-) But they will sacrifice this personal potential in their election to play 'team' footy, bringing every strength to the task of ensuring The Filth's capitulation by the third quarter.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
