Big test now.

We'll reset and wear North down but typical of us we make things unnecessarily difficult. Very very poor

Viney the only who can hold his head up after that quarter.

If North kick the first goal in the 2nd we are in serious trouble of losing this game.

Did not come out with any pressure against a lower ranked side.

May and Lever make amateur errors early to give the Roos a sniff.

Players unable to execute a kick forward of centre.

We're kicking at 46% because too many of our role players are getting the ball and not the ones that can make a difference

Can’t remember the last time I was this angry about a quarter of football.

North playing a spare in defence. Should be matching them up.

I'm disgusted with that. Worst quarter we've had for a long time.

Yep early days but we don't look one bit switched on at all and can't hit a cows backside with a banjo with our skills. We can turn it round but we need a massive spark, momentum fully with North, why shouldn't they fancy themselves to pull a surprise win? We don't have a device right to this game.

Broken, beat and scarred, we've been bush whacked.

Tommo should be playing. Might have actually had a dip out there. Our backline is, again, completely lost at sea.

Last week players opened up the forward line this week everyone flying for the same pill back to the past.

Notwithstanding we are playing one of the comps worst teams we have a chance to move to second four weeks from finals and this is what we bring.

No wonder we all have mfcss.

It's a recurring ailment for good reason.

I would be angry if I was actually surprised. Too easily get ahead of themselves and/or cant handle expectation.

We've gone from being great on small grounds and average at the MCG, to average on small grounds and great at the MCG. We seem to struggle assessing distance on small grounds.

Smith our best defender by a mile. Lever and May are panic merchants and Bowey having a shocker.

Our backline should be embarrassed. Eddie ford has kicked 5 goals in 10 games yet we've kicked 3 today.

Max got the group together and gave them a bit of a spray. Hopefully Goody did to.

We are in desperate need of some line-breaking players through the midfield. We look bog ordinary with Harmes and Jordan moving like they’re running in treacle.

Bruise free football, everyone just thinking someone else will do it.  Poor insipid effort

I knew we wouldn’t take this chance. I bloody knew it. The [censored] club does this to us EVERY time!

Not a bad outcome to only be down by 4 goals given what we served up. Look forward to seeing our response this quarter as we cannot afford to go into half time chasing tail. I trust our team to get the result today.

We've got them exactly where we want them

This was always on the cards from the moment Clarkson made those comments about his team, he got just the response he wanted. I think we will win but we could and should have sown up 2nd place today.

Disgraceful effort that quarter. Defensive effort was poor and ball use was messy. Really shameful effort against a below AFL standard team. Hopefully Goodwin walked into the huddle and started backhanding them one by one to wake them up.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
