Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Our backline can and has defended under pressure much much better than the Pies ever have.

Not when the pill is played at one end of the ground and it does not matter what sides playing.

Wonder what the media will use for an excuse for the pies loss this week???

Another dose of the flu?

They need to look at their control systems for infectious diseases.

I've heard colliwobbles can be really debilitating.

I’ve got that warm fuzzy feeling. Pies looking very venerable at the wrong time of year. I really hope this is their style of play and long season catching up with them and not due to a loading block.

The Pies midfield was annihilated, I thought that it looked like the 3 main areas: clearances, contested possession, and in transition. But the team stats indicate that it was workrate. More possession, more marks inside 50 etc... Interesting.

The wheels seem to be falling off both Collingwood and Port in recent weeks. Injuries and form are starting to take their toll as they did for us last season.

This is why I wasn’t worried about our loss to the Giants up in Alice 5 weeks ago.

All I was worried about was staying around top 4 & what our form was going to look like the last 6/7 weeks leading into the finals.

Occupational hazard - too much contact with a rabid and very large fanbase.

after the 1st qtr, i bet my son 50 euro to 5 that Pies would win, feeling stupid now… But we enjoyed the win, pressure is everything, and we all know Melbourne can bring that.

They went straight into 5th gear as soon as the season started & you can tell it’s taking its toll. I wouldn’t be shocked if their pressure rating has dropped dramatically from the start of the season.

As annoying as it is that the Grundy experiment doesn’t look like it’s going to work out, it has actually turned out to work wonders for Max. Got to ease himself back in from the MCL injury & now he’s playing his best footy at the right time of the season.

It’s a great day for football, surely there must be the flu running though the Pies camp, that’s what the media comes up with after they lose.

l think we’re now favourites 😉

It also means that you can't discount some of the lower finalists having a genuine chance.

Where are all the nuffies who say you shouldn't tag anymore?

Nick Daicos has been totally ineffectual.

As much as I wanted Essendon to lose today, West Coast losing keeps us with a chance of trading for Harley Reid.

Who even has the time anymore to think about such an irrelevant club, let alone want them to lose, draw or win? They're just a speck of dust on our shoes nowadays. A team whose weekly fixture and glanced at result at the end of the round gets the mildest 'who cares' non-reaction if there ever was one. A club that deserves only 2-4 hours of my viewing time per year, depending on how the afl fixtures us. 🍷

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
